    23 chapters in and the king finally made a debut. He doesn’t seem like someone who would have an affair with a maid

    Maybe a lower-ranking noblewoman. The empress already seems the over-jealous wife anyway.

    The king does look relatively young. Or maybe just the drawing style?

    I would speculate either before or during his marriage. He only has one other son so either it was a short affair or the ML's mom died in childbirth.

    She is the original heroine.
    She supports the MC which annoys her .She too, doesn't want the pain in the ass Queen position.
    See i told you this was a novel of misunderstandings. Even the readers are already misunderstanding her .:hmm:

    I think the ML mom appears as the second queen when the king introduce the prince to his new fiance the heroine.

    Yup it a open secret that the King wants the prince to divorce her and marry the original fiance .The whole country except the evil queen and the prince wants this to happen. MC wants this to happen too but the prince doesn't want to .Everyone thinks the MC is blocking the engagement but it the prince himself! Then people assume the new fiance will hate the MC and loves the ML but nope she wants to be independent and steal the title from her brother.The MC accidentally gave her the idea making the rival very fond of her. She told the MC she agrees with the MC that she perfect so she going to try to be a lord in her own right.She a feminist who wants her own power so she rejects the queen throne that really has so many problems. I am not saying the FL is a nice person .She only looking out for herself but she not the MC enemy .

    If she's alive, why the heck is just a bystander? She knows her son is being mistreared, right? Assuming shes the actual mother.

    I think it depends of the public likes the couple .If it is just another arranged marriage among nobles, ordinary folk won't bat an eyelid.

    I think the heroine is more suitable which is why MC is pushing them together as ML can only benefit .The MC has terrible family and reputation.That why the evil queen forced them to marry to dragged down the ML. Even after the MC helps the prince his knights still didn't trust her .that how bad it was.

    If that is so, I kinda understand why she was sold off in the marriage.

    The thing I don't get is why the king consented. By all means, ML is still his heir. Or he's too scared of his wife, maybe?

    She did so many things I can't keep track
    -Encourage the prince he won 1 year faster
    -make him a purple mantle (the knights thought she gave him a ugly one to insult him but the ML explained she has the worst sewing skills)
    -keep his hole outside a secret (even when lost she didn't go to the guards)
    -double spy
    -help him trap the queen spy who was in his knights
    -protect his money not all but some
    Towards the end game she risked her life to help him and
    convince the other bro to give up his birthright

    The king only cares about himself .I think he started to care about the prince after he became a war hero .Then he decide to make him heir and arrange for him to marry his original fiance .

    Great. Another doucebag father. He deserves his current Empress. Is there a part where they run away from everyone? It seems all odds are against them.
