Have you read any novels where they don't complete a mission/quest cause I remember the penalties of some of the mission which could lead to death negative levels disable functions relationship points etc etc have you read some novels where the MC couldn't complete the mission and how they overcome it?
I always feel CN system missions are the weakest aspect of their VR/game element novels. It's always too convenient a mission. Either it needs to be completed now or it's just a reiteration of the story's overall main plot. KR missions are a bit better IMO, and JP... err, JP is more 'everything but the game' part of the game. As for the post topic, someone somewhere told me of a story where the MC failed their first mission and died or something. First chapter/part of the story and thus it prompted the plot to move forward? Meh.
In Overgeared, failing a mission leads to drop in exp (as expected of a VR novel) but helps him become OP later on.
side characters transmigration the final boss is no joke everytime she comes back she fucks up her morality points more and more even if she did complete em ;9
