Discussion Tag of war in translation community

All the opinion comes from a guy who isnt native in english language soooo...warning for a bad grammar, I guess.

Most of you probs know of the ongoing tag of war for the translation of Trancending the nine heavens. After reading Translation Nation's version right before Novel saga's version, I couldnt help but notice the quality difference.

"Diwu Qing Rou had personally directed the battle to defy the dynasty of heaven!"(Translation nation) not the best sentence but... compared to

"but he would personally need to take command this time in order to establish his own land under the heaven!"(Novelsaga)

I feel translation nation has sharp and precise sentence structures with better vocabulary that fits the novel such that it follows the 'walk the jianghu'(former translator, one of the best I know) vocabs unlike novelsaga degrading the vocabs/terms such as

‘second little ancestors’
into
'second generation little ancestors’

do they think longer the sentence, better the translation?

they should just quit and or help translation nation to make the release quicker

oki maybe that was tad bit harsh but what can I say quality speaks of their level.

It is wrong to compare TL. We donot understand the raws so we have no right to talk about the quality of TL. What we may compare is the release rate maybe. However,right now..muchers like us can do nothing. The TL themselves have to come to an understanding between themselves. Otherwise,they can just go on doing the stuff they are doing now...That is,until Qidian comes up~ Lol..just imagine..that mantis stalking the oriole unaware of the cicada or something~~

i think it should depend on which site has good track record, i mean both sites have good translation, they are understandable, so the site which releases constant releases, even if it is slow, it doesn't matter, there shouldn't be too long of gape.
