I'm pretty sure the idea of noble etiquette is that, even though she is an enemy, she's a queen, and as such, deserves to be treated with a certain level of respect. But even if that is the case, that doesn't mean giving in to all of her demands and letting her do whatever she wants. Regardless of what her title is, she's a prisoner/hostage. Lorist has no reason to give in to her demands. If anything, he should be taking advantage of her to leverage against Duke Fisablen (and when he inevitably declines/refuses, since I'm pretty sure he doesn't care much about her), then he can use that to justify other actions, like holding her under supervised house arrest, and/or forcefully exiling her somewhere.

Yes and no some athletic's stay away from sex a couple days before events/match's and other's have sex right before them. To have sex release some vitamins/ saved yup energy your body saves it releases it right after sex. And not to have sex some dont to not to tire themselves out....... its also a little like luck if you drink a certain drink before games or do something. some people get tired after sex others get energized. it depends on the person.

Charade is a serious disappointment. Especially considering how emotional and attached he was to his "love". Lorist also helped out at that time.

Furthermore, Charade was supposed to be a friend but it seems he got really greedy and considered the "greater good" or "prosperity" of the whole duchy. Yet, as a friend he did not even consider Lorist's position, his feelings and being forced in such a situation. Lorist chose to help his "house" out, even though they did not really do much for him... he did it out of respect and duty for his ancestors and for the "house" that was on the brink of ruin. Lorist could have easily had a peaceful life without all sorts of responsibilities, traditions... yet he chose to do something out of a honorable duty.

 

Well to be fair, Charade's house wasn't that important/special, thus his decisions wouldn't have mattered much to others. But Lorist, being the Duke that he is, as well as possibly (one of) the strongest forces on the former Empire, his every decisions may very well be important enough to go down in history books, and if it's something that others deem less then savoury, then it may reflect badly on him and his house. So I don't think it's fair to say that Charade wasn't looking out for Lorist.

@Wujigege My new novel is a western fantasy like TRL but it's not kingdom building. It is more of an action adventure story with great character interaction in a world with impetus and magic.
