He just figured out in the latest chapters that he has been hurting her because his body is alot stronger than normal and she doesn't have any battle force and now they made adjustments. She was shivering because while she enjoyed the sex she didn't like being hurt but she was scared that Lorist would be mad if she said something.

Lorist has now addressed that issue and told her just to tell him next time so it doesn't go on as long as that and now her whole body language has changed since she realized she can be herself around him.

Yeah Lorist has the memories of The old Lorist in his head and he felt super guilty for a while about everything that happened to his family in the North. Barbarians coming down next year, them choosing their new leader means they'll be thirsty to prove themselves. He's got some limited resources because of those Wildnorth Town families not cooperating with him. Kenmay's family is sure to have a couple ideas up their sleeves.

Now add the fact that he's going to have to deal with the Duke. Trying to come off strong enough not to be bullied but if he pushes too far the Duke might feel like his honor will take too much of a beating if it become known that he can't even handle some family who's been rumored to be on it's last legs.
