I read the first two chapters (against my better judgement ). There seems to be some serious mystery like he is being forced into it. Maybe it's one of those I'm hiding things and hurting you for your own good bs.
Hello everyone. I think I have a very unpopular opinion about the new novel "The Abandoned Empress Will Not Return" The emperor is redeemable. An absolute moran but never stopped loving his wife. Also, I don't think that there is anything going on between him and the mistress. Or at least not THAT. There is something off about the whole new mistress and her brother. I smell treason. I'm willing to go for the ride.
I'm just considering reading this novel, but from the synopsis and your comment, he sounds like Soviefool ... if nothing is happening with his concubine too bad ... that was his mistake, If a third party has him by the nu+s, again his fault, still I guess I'll give it a chance, since the translator-sama is one of my favorites
The mistress marries the emperor , she marries the grand duke. Everyone's Happy and keep their high status.

I wouldn't say she is dumb. Just very submissive and have a weak personality , it's understandable because she was raised like that but it really isn't doing much for the story. I don't see how such a personality can carry the story well
