this shows how little you know, young'un. Anyone can taunt and troll, indeed...but few can make an art of it. And those such as I? Well, we even take pleasure in the act.
Im not sure that is something to put on your resume under outstanding achievements.. or even under interests and hobbies.. Just reminds me of a Satre quote 'hell is other people'..was he an aquantaince of yours Mr. Cupcake?
Sartre? That old chap? Ah yes, we were quite close back in the day. That's a pretty famous line from him, isn't it? It brings back memories, that. Hm. Thinking back on it now, I find it a shame that so many people misunderstand his words. You wouldnt think it but the man was fond of company in spite of what that quote may lead you to believe. He simply thought the opinions of others weighed too heavily upon us, impeding our freedom as we are afraid of negative judgement. Of course we were always of differing opinions on this matter. While he held the belief that people should rise above this weakness of mind, i myself reveled in it. Its so fun to take advantage of these chinks in their proverbial armor. He used to chastise me for my somewhatsadistic nature, you know. And i made fun of his prudishness. Ah, i miss him. He was a good old boy, that one. Serious and stoic to a fault but pleasant to converse with once you got to know him.
Have you read 'No Exit' did you help him with character development..I liked the concept of hell being that room, they could leave but chose not to..Remind you of anywhere? quote from your friend 'It disturbs me no more to to find men base, unjust or selfish than to see apes mischievious. wolves savage, or the vulture ravenous".. He was truly a people person in the true sense of the word I can see how you two gelled.. He didn't expect much.. you lived up to his expectations.. Hahaha
Well i did help him flesh out Estelle and Garcin a bit but Ines was purely his own design. As for the hell, yes, it was well done. But them not leaving of their own accord is a bit of a misconception: They never would be capable of absolution even if they did leave. Their guilt is their prison, one which they cannot escape by themselves. They are each other's torturers, as well as each other's potential saviours. Just as Garcin realized he needed Ines' understanding and acceptance, so too do the others need the same. Garcin sees his wife in Ines which is why he needed her to "forgive" him. Estelle wanted a manly man, and Garcin wanted to be that kind of man. Were he to give into her seductions they both would never be able to escape. Estelle has to rid herself of such strong lust before she can move on from that place in truth. Similarly to Estelle, if Ines cannot overcome her own desires to steal and corrupt the things that belong to others she, also, would be doomed beyond saving. Simply because they could leave, doesnt mean they could be free. To stay or go, it mattered little. The opinions of others could condemn you or save you...Sartre loved the poetry of that. And in that particular story her pulled it off in spectacular fashion. As for what the room reminds me of, of course its this infernal place!
Are you getting paid by the word?Thats what I call word count.. Did you get out your Kindle and speed read or is it on your bookshelf well worn pages earmarked.. gifted by Jean himself? You are deep for a cupcake.. are you devils food flavor by chance? Yes I was thinking of this thread and the Assassins Guild..but of course you are an insightful cupcake so I knew you would know that instantly.. Sorry to hear you are a sadistic expert at trolling.. I like your sense of humor.. And of course Im sure you find me not to your taste..oh well our paths crossed briefly and we all must bear the consequences of our actions.. We are of free will and able to do whatever we want but we in turn must accept the consequences of those actions to paraphrase your friend.. A cupcake a member of the intelligencia.. Who wiulda thought.. rofl
