Guys you have to remember that Benedict is in depression and traumatised so forgive him for not being able to show proper feelings to Raina she is also at fault for being to prideful to tell him how she feels its a bit stupid if you ask me and the first night he had with her he was drunk but he somehow forgot he had sex with her which to me is stupid but hey drama is drama otherwise if he remembered he had sex with her he will know that Hayden is his child and we wont have much of a story.
So they are both at fault for not confessing to each other but we know they love one another one is to prideful to confess and one is to mentally and emotionally damaged.

Not exactly. If you read the comments carefully you would realise people are infuriated at how ML reacts to the things at current story line, not about what has already happened. ML is the one denying his feelings for FL and obvious facts about child's legitimacy so vehemently right now. He clearly got the flashbacks of his first night but he still insists on his stubborn thought on denying his child, which is what ppl are getting mad at rn. If you scroll back into few pages in the thread, you'll meet even more people bashing on FL for kissing another dude lol. Honestly I think they don't really suit each other anymore, both are made of the same dumb mold.

Besides that, it's been a few days now, any new spoilers about next chapter? What are they planning to do now? Iirc ML wanted to leave everything behind and move out but FL refused cuz she wanted her son to inherit the title, so what did they decide to do in the end? Who is the next disastrous guest now?

Based on recent instagram posts, the author wrote two long notes about Benedict's time in Naval school to which I am uncertain if she plans to include them in the next chapter or just clarifying to her followers/readers about his characterization during his training days and how he came to be admired by so many women even now (married for 10 years). It was implied that she felt compelled to add explanation because people supposedly misinterpreted what she was trying to portray about Benedict in the last chapter. Additionally, her choice to include flashback of that brunnete after his scene with Rania seems to have triggered a lot of dissatisfaction from some fans.
The author wrote that there were several parties organized by fleet school which required their students to attend with their +1. Finding female partner for these dances were troublesome as the young ladies will not accept invitation from other students until Benedict's partner is decided. Ben dated 2 women during his time in fleet school. The primadonna whom he attended many dances with was the second gf and he would escort her to places and attend her concerts to show support. The first girl he supposedly dated, he didn't have sexual intimacy with and would just attend dances together (from my understanding off google translation), but the primadonna had the complete gf status. They dated, were involved sexually and everything. He told her that this relationship will not be serious and more for convenience. He broke it off with her when she started to cross the line/boundaries that he had set. Despite that, Benedict did everything he was supposed to as a bf with the primadonna as the military were strict about their behavioural conduct and that they must show courtesy and respect to the women that accompanied them.

I get that impression too. It's clear that she plans to have Benedict and Rania end up together, so she probably doesn't want the readers hating on Ben too much. She even said in her 3rd post that past comments(in Korean I assumed) used to be all about making Benedict repent.
Apparently she has finished revising chapter 77 and uploaded on Kakao.
The scene that follows Benedict and Rania's sex scene is Ben hanging out, playing pool with his friends. Only some parts (conversation with brunnete but not the character) from the original work are left in. In her reasoning, she said that while she like the original work for the drama, she believes that the readers were right in wanting the story to just focus on Rania.

My personal opinion is that leaving the brunette in there would be damaging to Benedict's redemption arc as some readers might hold his past against him. I was doing the the exact same thing in my last 2 posts. I feel that as much as author tries to downplay his past, they made him whi he is. It is bitter to think that he was a perfect gentleman to that primadonna while he doubted his wife's loyalty and his child's legitimately for 10 years, withheld sex for 10 years which is the very act the fosters intimacy in a marriage.....
While lack of intimacy may not be important in couples that are older, both Ben and Rania are young and very much in their prime. There barely spent time together as a couple before he went off to war. He came back a changed man probably with more trauma from the war and I feel that their relationship just stood still for 10 years with lots of doubt and resentment piling up. It doesn't help that we mainly see how shitty he has been treating Rania since she took action to make him jealous by kissing his half brother whom he despises while his ex-lover showed up to add more psychological damage to Rania.

NEWS: following the release of chapter 79 on Nov 25 the author may be taking a break for 3 weeks before starting season 3. THIS will be CONFIRMED again at a later date
This season will include 2nd male lead (if google translation is correct) and focuses heavily on romance.

I’ve been trying to collect my thoughts on this matter. I’ll probably have to come back and edit this a few other times.
This series wasn’t a romance to begin with, it was marked as a drama and that’s what the author has been very good at doing throughout the series. The author said earlier in the series that they have a general plot in mind from beginning to end, which is awesome! And I know that she’s very forthcoming in some issues that the readers have brought up in comments on Instagram and Kakao, but the plot so far has been very good with the drama and the author does an excellent job with all of the characters trauma. I don’t want them to feel pressured to change their plot
I feel like the feedback on this chapter and the authors changes were a good choice because, as you said, we’re in the middle of Benedict’s redemption arc and her showing him just finishing have sex with the brunette was not a good look in a chapter about his past with Rania.
I was actually fine with finding out that he paid the women and just had a fling with the one woman. Like the author mentioned on Instagram, it was just a casual filling at the academy with no feelings. If Rania had a fling before the engagement, I wouldn’t of cared either.

On the author not wanting Benedict to have to repent, my opinion is that he needs to carry the guilt of what he was thinking and all of the twisted words he has said to Rania but again, to reiterate, Rania has also said nasty things to Benedict and also told Hayden that his father slept around during the marriage when he didn’t. If Benedict needs to repent, so does Rania.

In a relationship, it’s a two way street. They were both horny and either one could of stepped up and said they wanted to have sex. Benedict didn’t because he thought Rania hated him and didn’t want to force her. Rania didn’t because of reasons and pride. They need a relationship counselor more than anything else.

I just wonder how Hayden will take the 2nd ML though because he really wants his parents to stay together. (I do too.) I believe he’ll be stuck between his parents even more in season 3.

I totally agree with you, ml till this part in the story doesn’t seem to be a good prospect for rania, she definitely deserves someone better so I’m glad we are getting a 2nd male lead, thank you so much for this information!!! You made my day hhahaha
It’s obvious that they are gonna end up together, and after all I still want them to be happy together (idk why I still like this dude ), but it’s gonna be so satisfying to se the ml burning in jealousy because let’s be real, he deserves that shit so much lmao
Please author don’t be so biased with your characters!!!!! Stop giving almost all the suffering to rania, the balance is broken and she obviously has suffered more than ml

I agree with you all of your points except for this one. My take on their sexual intimacy was that Rania had already taken that first step (as you have kindly pointed out earlier). Benedict didn't want to sleep with her prior to leaving for war but Rania insisted that they do it because she has feelings for him and they are married. Thinking based on her POV, she took that initative to grant consent, got pregnant from that night and survived labour alone, all the while hoping that he would be okay. All those letter she wrote him went unanswered. Now imagine him coming back from war and never attempted to reconnect with her. Her pride and resenment had probably prevented her from reaching out again. I'm not saying that this is healthy on her part because it never is. Relationship is about compromising and we must refrain from letting our pride unnecessarily damages important relationships. Having said that, I relate and understand her action more than I do Benedict's.
I still cannot fully grasp why he would perseverate on the notion that Rania had Hayden with someone else and yet she never sort that person out and stayed with him for 10 years despite not loving him. His episodic amnesia and trauma played a big part but it's hard to excuse him for those reasons alone. It all seems to be blame-deflecting to me. Because he slept around, that must be she did too. He never had any evidence of Rania being that type of girl, yet simply because he couldn't remember their coupling he chose to doubt her for 10 years without investigating or thinking that he could be creating this delusion on his own. He is aware of his own trauma but has never attempted to deal with it and let it effect his relationships.
In regard to this matter, I completely agree that Benedict should carry that guilt. That doesn't mean Rania doesn't deserve an explanation or a proper apology from him. Rania' biting words and accusation of him having extramarital affairs should also be addressed. I really hope the author will address all of these in the next season

I completely agree. Writing has just never been my strong suit. Benedict needs to apologize to both Rania and Hayden for when he was thinking Hayden was illegitimate. Then tell Rania sorry for the nasty words he said, then Rania should communicate about how she felt the last 10 years and say sorry afterwards.

As readers, we don’t know anything about how they acted before the series started and before Rania kissed Landen. All we know is that they acted cordial to each other but it seemed like they were happy together with Hayden in flashbacks.

A while back people were complaining about Benedict saying nothing about how smart Rania is and how he thinks she’s and idiot, but I don’t agree. Rania has been the woman of the household for +10 years and is in charge of Hayden’s education. I don’t believe if she was doing a bad job that he’d keep allowing her to do that. Plus the chapter in question was about Laura being up to mischief.

I took his silence about Rania being that he already knows about her likes and dislikes about different crafts and reading. He compliments her on how she runs the house and finding stuff out about Laura.

    THIS! My thoughts exactly.
This is exactly what assume he did there. Instead of investigating or confronting the issue, he took comfort in the fact that there was an issue in the first place. So that, both parties had their own faults and their own issues. This way, he wouldn't necessarily need to feel indebted or guilty towards his wife (for being unable to be a good husband for her/return her feelings). So I believe he actually had a sense of comfort knowing his wife cheated back then. And about what happened later on, the kissing incident, he only got upset then at the fact WHO she chose to cheat with. Not at the fact that she cheated.

He deemed her as an adulterer for 10 YEARS, which is long before she even had the thought of ever kissing another man. Honestly idk if Rania knows this, but if she does, I really can't blame her for resenting Benedict. It's such a cowardly approach to condemn someone like this just make ourselves feel better.

I'm kind of sad that we have to wait till 3rd season to know what'll be their final decision. Face the issues and try to solve them or just pack the bags and run. Honestly their reputation on the fief(or whatever) is at rock bottom rn and there were so many politicial issues, so I don't blame them for wanting to leave all that behind and start anew BUT! it just made me so disappointed on Benedict when he suggested to just leave everything behind on the grounds that Heyden doesn't have any real right to inherit the title anyway. Like, wasn't he going on about how Heyden will be his heir either way?? But now, he is saying Heyden is just a bastard either way. Bruh... make up your ducking mind. Jesus Christ. :blobpopcorn_two:

I looked at him with a positive light BEFORE this happened. Because, whether it's due to his guilt preservation mechanism or whatnot, he still decided to love and raise another man's child(as he believed) as his own. That's why I thought that even as flawed as he was, Benedict was still a good man.
But now, I can only perceive him as a coward who's constantly running away from his problems, pushing blame to everyone else but himself. Self preservation or whatever, dick move is still a dick move.

Based on what Rania had said during one of their confrontations, I also believe that they had a diplomatic relationship as a couple while raising Hayden. Perhaps they were not intimate but there was no major conflict in their relationship until Ben blurted out Laura's name in his sleep and Rania decided to kiss Landen. As in any situation with two people in a relationship or residing together, there were probably some biting remarks, bickering and nitpicking that had no real detrimental effect until a major event blow them out of proportion and those incidences of mean remarks, bickering and nitpicking are used as ammunition against each other.

I think most readers presumed that he has always thought of her as unintelligent because he implied exactly that in the car ride after Rania saw the play with not an oz of hesitation in his remark.
However, that quick remark to hurt her self-esteem and intelligence most likely stem from his jealousy. Being consumed by emotion, most people are quick to seek out the most hurtful attribution of their target to inflict the most damage. Now one might argue that people are most truthful when they are angry and he wouldn't say so if he hasn't thought of that before. My take on this is that I think he realized long ago that academia wasn't her strong suit, an attribute which he found attractive in a person and was the reason why his relationship with Laura took off in the first place. I think that why he said what he said in the moment where he wanted to hurt her the most. That doesn't mean he thought of her as incompetent. One can be booksmart but completely useless in other areas. He probably deemed her as not so very bright when it comes to academics but he may not truly deems her as entirely stupid. I don't think he is aware that many people; including Rania, tend not to distinguish the difference and use intelligence and competency interchangeably (his vocalization of such to her was still very detrimental and gave Laura ammunition to damage Rania's psyche further).

To be honest, I thought the same as other readers (about him thinking of her as an idiot) until I went back and re-read it. It's easy to get caught up in the tension without analyzing the timeline and sequence of events. Since they are both simply on a cordial term, he has probably never feel the need to enforce that she isn't stupid simply because she's not book smart. Him not intervening in her role as mistress of the house was simply enough to imply that he thought of her as competent.

I honestly couldn't have expressed my own thought better than this!
I had wanted to expand on you post about why I had issue with his permicuous past and how it effects his current relationship with Rania but I lost track of what I was trying to express lol
Nevertheless, I agree with all of your points (y)

Eh I think the 2nd ml may be more of a good guy that helps them and develops a one sided crush for fl instead of it being fl actually starting to like him.

That's true but I just hate seeing one sided hate towards male characters who didn't do anything heinous deserving the hate when they are both terrible parents especially fl like I understand yall hate the ml for neglecting his child and thinking he's a bastard but fl was literally feeding the child lies about his father just because she wasn't being loved like I dont understand how that child grew up without developing deep issues but maybe it's because I'm a man but I could agree that both leads are terrible lovers and parents and shit people even but keep it equal both of them need work and saying the ml needs tk carry the guilt and do all the work while fl just has to sit back and receive love and care without improving herself don't sit right with me.

I mean now that we know he didn't actually have sex with all these women, we feel better. However, i believe Raina doesn't, majority of the people in the story don't know the truth. For someone who saw how his mom was affected by 'the other woman ' he should have thought about how those rumors would affect his fiancee(whoever it might be); and that it would follow them forever. Which happened, you can't blame Raina fr thinking he cheated all along when he built his own profile

Yes, Benedict finally realizes that Hayden is his biological son. What happens in this episode is that Hayden comes into the room as Benedict starts thinking about him. Benedict says something along the lines of Hayden being 6 months old the first time that he(Benedict) sees him and when he picked him up from the crib, Benedict instantly fell in love with him.

Hayden remarks that he knew that Benedict was his dad because he and Rania would look at his picture and practice saying Papa, telling him how smart he was. Benedict engulfs him in a hug and goes down memory lane about all the moments he had with Hayden, like the bike riding and playing piano together. Benedict thinks something about Rania and not being able to forgive her if Hayden actually isn’t his?

Benedict apologizes to Hayden saying that he’s his son all the whole crying and shaking. Hayden is also hugging him back while holding back tears. At some point, Rania had also woken up and listens while laying in bed. It cuts to Naomi passing some viscous looking dogs to stop at Landen in a jail cell.

There’s going to be a 2nd ML and one more guest for this last upcoming season in December. Benedict and Rania also have a baby girl, Hayden’s new sibling!!

Can you please confirm once again if this was a flashback and whether this happened before his marriage or after?

Although I believe it's a scene from before right? I'm just a little confused? And that lady was his ex?

It was a flashback from before his marriage. I believe the author was trying to convey that he only slept regularly with one woman like a FWB but readers gave feedback that it wasn’t a good look as the author introduced her right in a middle of an important chapter.

The author later changed the scene of the brunette to Benedict talking to friends from the academy. Keeping the same conversation.

Instead of an ex-girlfriend, the Brunette and Benedict were in a mutual sexual relationship with no feelings attached. They were together so Benedict could have someone to bring to the academy dances to keep the ladies off of him.
