The white lotus fake 'Saint' made an Oracle to the Emperor that he will be killed by Black Rose. The Emperor is utterly terrified of death and she used his fear to manipulate him into thinking that his son with Empress Lobelia was the 'Black Rose' which will kill him. When he came into the room to kill his son, Lobelia jumped in front of him and died instead requesting him to spare the son's life. Bitch White Lotus did all this to get the Empress seat, and started a relationship with Emperor. Emperor isn't in love with her but kind of is attached because he needs her. So, some time has passed and Lobelia wakes up in another body with similar looks when she the Empress. Male Lead is the guard who guarded her when she was the Empress. Also, all these 10 years, the son was (Lobelia's father somehow took him in mourning over his daughter's loss. He loves his grandson and resents the Emperor) and abandoned by the Emperor. Lobelia marries Kyle, now a respectable Duke and Empire Hero. Later, reveals her identity to all coming out as a Saint herself. Obsessive Emperor tries to cover her again, also he's half insane cause he felt guilty because it was his fault she died, he could've stopped but didn't because he gives more importance to his life than the ones he claims to love. Also the supposedly 'Black Rose' who was to bring down him and take his life is hinting to be none another than, the White lotus so called Saint herself. It's ongoing - Currently, he had confined Lobelia to the Palace and is trying to re-establish her as the Empress even though she's Kyle's wife and is in love with him as much as he is. White Lotus got trolled and ate the poison herself (without knowing the trap) which she wanted to give to the Female Lead.
