The most prominent explanation as to why we haven't been able to find aliens is because they all died out due to some Great Filter. If humanity hasn't already passed this filter then it is in our future, and things wouldn't look too promising for us. That's what finding aliens has to do with our prosperity. There are a few other possible explanations for the Fermi Paradox than the Great Filter, but that doesn't rule it out as a significant possibility.

It may be what we think now is the greatest posibliity and it's probably true to some extent either way but I wouldn't put my belief in scientific assumption. Whenever scientists assumed in the past because there was no obvious, logical explanation or proof, they were wrong. Physics just keep getting stranger and stranger. It's not really an extintion event, billions may die due to our foolishness but that's not everyone. It's under virus, unless you were thinking of magical zombies.
At its current rate it might get to that level. Every degree drastically increases the odds of a chain reaction. And while regular climate change won't wipe us out the very worst results are capable of nuking us very very hard. I don't need a second snowball earth or desert earth.
i would love for us to achieve the sci fi ending, where our race thrives among the stars bringing war among the galaxy (Cuz lets be honest we can't really go about it anyother way)... But the ending we will get by our own hands its either the ww3 ending (lame) or the volcanomaggedon, cuz some dumbass poked at the super volcano in Yellowstone "To harness the power of earth" bringing us to oblivion in a nuclear winter (For the half of the planet that maybe has a chance at survival)
Clearly aliens will have heard of the human races declaration that they would clap alien cheeks. They will come to answer our call, bringing a new understanding of the cosmos and an end to life as we know it.
Now that makes me thinking... Since our planet in global warming state, if we bring the nuclear winter doesn't that mean we are fighting against Global Warming more effective and efficiently?
Your so called ending is just a beginning for the next iteration of sentience on earth. Millions of years in the future they will dig up the ruins of our civilization and ponder on how we fell after achieving so much.
to summarize. we are currently exiting the ice age (if you forgot, we are currently in the ice age era still. the leftover effects) yes. global warming is partially due to humans. like 5% of the total value. the rest is ice age ending, and the rotation of the new poles approaching quite fast. even if you pretend that you can save the earth from yourself, the earth doesnt care. the earth will continue to do what it has always done for ages. reset and continue on. welcome to actual science.

Nope. Most of this rise in temperature is man made. At no point in time within the last few hundred thousand years did temperature increase this quickly (factor of at least two dozen, most likely more, mind you) and on a global scale. Compared to any "natural" temperature difference outside of super vulcanos and other civilization threatening events we are LITERALLY OFF THE CHARTS. There is a reason 97% of the climate scientists state climate change is man-made. 97%. Usually even 70% would be a reason to SERIOUSLY consider changing things. But 97%... thats scientific consens. Like wtf mate. You arent smarter or better informed than the people who make a fucking living with examining the data. You arent going up to a laywer with 10 mintues internet research and beat his masters thesis. Even fucking Exxon Mobile knew about this. You know THAT oil company. Just in case you thought big green exists when a single oil company doubles the worth of the green energy sector combined. Even the conservative models are plain unfun for mankind, the economic damages exceeding single diggit billions per year, while progressively getting worse at a solid pace. And thats an estimation being made by insurances. Again. Its their job and in their best interest to figure shit out before it happens cuz thats how they make money. Their figures should be as accurate as we can get rn.
