It's BL but not that much. Rather than this, the story is very great! I just finish the anime, the animation of the fight is awesome and the soundtrack is wonderful! At least try the 1st episode

I gave it a try, can't watch past 10 ish minutes. Wtf is this crap?

He's the freaking Ancestor of Devil Dao, but the anime is some kind of comedy for 8 year olds.


If the novel is anything even remotely similar I know for sure that despite it's name I'll never read it ever whatever anyone else says (I've already been apprehensive of it because of yaoi, but now it's pretty much 0 chance what so ever)

 

It is more adventure in ancient china style with an undertone of BL that simple slash. There will be some drama later on so do not worry. The art is really pretty and it is normal anime style. It is in chinese so the language is a little bit weird at a times. Give it a try. The novel by the way is also really good.
Also I do not know why there cant be comedy under such a title. It is not a pure cultivation story and the characters are already grown up so...
Really do give it a try. You can't really feel the yaoi at the beginning and the plot is really good. There are a also a lot of mysteries so the storyline doesn't always concentrate on the MC's

 

I've watched up to ep 3 and I'm in love with the backgrounds OMG they're so good! I wish the Lan Sect was real so I could visit lol

I like how it's like Inu Yasha in terms of mystery adventure but just happens to be BL, we need more series like this

I heard that the anime version won't have any scene related to BL--rather just bromance. However, it is still enjoyable. I would appreciate it more if the anime version was true to the novel.

I am currently up to date with the recent release, ep.6.

 

At least the 1st season won't have BL scenes because from what I have read somewhere, it will cover only until We Wuxian died as the Yiling Patriarch.
We can probably at least get a romantic scene at season two but not explicit ones. This is a Chinese anime after all.
