I hear the UK is trying out herd immunity where they let the corona virus spread to build up resistance.
Or they are just doing their usual, Keep Calm and Carry On. I mean, they forged on ahead during WW2, why would an invisible invasion phase them? ^.^
I don't know. I've never tired to clean the corn husks before and just threw them into compost, I'll let you know when I cook rice next time.
i was asking how you cleaned the fresh cornhusks before putting them under the washed rice and starting to cook.
Ah, okay. I thought you were asking how I cleaned the corn husks after using it to cook rice due to the topic the thread was about. I rinse, rub, and let it soak a little. That's it, though I don't use fresh ones. I buy them packaged by the lb for less than $5/lb.
Of course things will be cheaper if you buy in bulk, 10 lb of corn husk will have a difference in price per pound than the 1lb I'm buying due to lack of space. FWIW 1lb has 100 wrappers and I only use half of one each time I cook rice (one whole if you have a bigger pot. Just buy 20lb of rice or corn and get the husks as bonus if you don't feel it's worth it.
