Or, it could just mean they're being teleported away, or that they were projections of real people.
I thought those two were the only ones drawn into the trial. How did everyone else know what happened, much less participate? Also, after the start of the chapter that sounds like they weren't alone, what's up with the rest of the chapter that makes it seem like they were?
Or, is it that the "illusions" were actually cultivators from other sects that were participating as NPCs?
This is how I read it.
It seems like the town's non-Medical Cultivators are like the Avatars of Players in an MMORPG.
It didn't sound like the sword and spell cultivators took their trials at the Apricot Forest where the medical cultivators congregated. Perhaps there are multiple entrances to the trial realm and the 3 groups were supposed to meet up inside to form teams.
The temptations of the thug life.
I wonder how long she'll let herself stay in the illusion. I doubt that she's unaware of it by now.
I wonder if anyone will have a heart attack or cultivation deviation when she refuses
Probably everyone but Su Junmo & his Lord...
I wonder if this will cause issues for her. She turned down something that any other medical cultivator would happily kill for due to someone who hadn't even accepted her as his disciple yet, and then acquired knowledge that any major sect would also happily kill for, while having no backing anyone knows about.
I think the first half will cause public outrage and some insults but nothing serious. The second half is what will probably bring trouble
"What a pity, that girl only saw him as a Master!" I hope he remembers this moment once he finally figures out what's going on
I thought the same thing. Kinda indicative that with so few clues he figured out his past selfs thought process
