But Chen Guo, while a lovable idiot, also had her mature side. It showed her maturity as she began understanding the background Ye Xiu may have, and then doing what she could to support him (first for the Excellent Era problem, and later as the boss of a professional esports team). The drama makes her a flat character for comic relief only.
Oh, no, I'm sorry! I was trying to highlight the depth the novel gave to Chen Guo! The novel was very good at making each person real, even the taciturn and wooden Deception/Mo Fan. So while it is easy to stereotype these characters, we also see different humanity in them so they aren't just flat characters for our amusement. You weren't insulting Chen Guo at all! I found her an idiot, too, but adorable and funny. After all, we are seeing an unskilled fan interacting with people skilled in the game. I relate to Chen Guo, often, because her reactions and thought processes sometimes align with mine.

I just finished the donghua and I liked it. Accept, they changed the art after the first season!! Why!?! This is the second donghua I've watched that did this. The new art is never as good.
It’s not that his skill is deteriorating, he just wanted to play one more season for the last time before going back home. But that’s his retirement reason for team happy not EE. For EE he was forced to retire because of his business partner boss Tao which is the owner of EE the internet boss that sponsored their team way back first season. The reason is due to profits, and very much so because of differences in mindset. After EE loss in Challenger league to Happy, there was a chapter where he reminisced about how he also pursued glory-fun or was in the same mindset as Ye Xiu but then along the way the money just got so good that he ended up being in conflict with YX for not cooperating with any of the publicities. He also reminisced that he was jealous of YX glory/influence in the Glory scene. Anyway it was him who schemed to kick YX out. YX signed a long term ‘contract’ with him at first season which has large penalties for breaking it. But to be honest, YX signed it not under his name so he didn’t really need to do all that.
