As of episode eight, it has started diverging from the novel. I honestly recommend that you read from the beginning because the anime has simply cut out way too much information.

Wow, you still don't understand that animes cut lots of information from mangas and novels?

Lol the anime doesn't even cover 10% of all the chapters it went through.

Read it from the beginning sigh, I hate when people ask such pointless stuff.

if you don't want to start from the beginning, the last episode ends at chapter 175. However as said above the anime deverge from the story, so i recommend to start from the beginning.

As people said, read from the beginning. The anime is cutting out a lot of content and is changing some details, so it's not accurate at all.

    To actually answer your question:
    gravitytales com/Novel/the-kings-avatar/tka-chapter-142 (I can't post links)
This is the chapter "Magician" for that battle at the end of episode 8.
They do skip some details and fights in the anime, but I'd suggest reading the novel anyways if you have time. It is a fun read. If not continue from chapter 143. Chapter 175 is around when episode 9 ends

I recommended reading the novel from the start
There is many parts cut in plus you can understand the anime better...
I have fun watching anime cause I up to date to novel so I'm not having hard time understanding the story

Cultivating fast like this will lead to a flaw in your cultivation of the dao of Web novels, slow down and start from the beginning to solidify your foundation.

A whole lot is skipped, so do like the above said and begin from start. Not like Manga/Novel to Anime cut out, but super cut out. I can't remember a Anime that goes through close to 200 chapters after 9 episodes.

Wow you guys, only 1-2 of you actually answered OPs question. (And one of you was extremely rude for a question that was actually well formed.) Do I have to bring out the ban hammer?

Give OP the answer to the best of your knowledge and then give your opinion. Maybe OP doesn't want to read 100+ chapters or maybe they just want to know what happens next chronologically. You need to help the OP reach whatever goal they are seeking, not interpret things to how you think it should be.

Okay again, If YOU START FROM where the anime is, you won't understand shit.

The anime skipped 90% of all the actual fun

^-^ And he is being rude to the people who want to tell him that If he wants to skip 100 chapters okay, but you will miss the fun

    Does my age mean anything?

As others have mentioned, episode 8 ended at chapter 145/146 (though the arrival of Steamed Bun doesn't happen in the novel until much later). Episode 9 begins halfway through chapter 146 and lasts until 175, so I would suggest starting to read the novel from 146, to see the difference between the novel version and the animated version. The main things that are skipped in the anime are the dungeon-crawling scenes and strategies. What you get is simply a scene where the system announces a new record has been broken by Lord Grim or Excellent Era, etc. In the novel, those dungeon attempts are recorded in detail. The other thing you get more of in the novel is the thoughts and reactions of the other characters, especially the antagonists, which is half the fun sometimes (especially when they're reacting to people like Steamed Bun or Huang Shaotian).
