@Tony Thanks for the reply and info, I found out how to search by tags. I like the look and feel of the site, I feel it separates it's self from it's competitors we enough. I still think there should be a quick easy way from the main menu to find tags or genres. I have been planning on writing a novel, I most likely will be using your site but I fear novel poachers so my only counter is to put it every where to avoid having it stolen and placed there unknowingly.

I probably should have tagged you, but here's my question:

Categorizing it would be the best imo

There was a quick and easy way to find genres at least but i removed it because I didn't like the look. I'll have to sit down and redesign it. In the meantime, all tags and genres are located here: https://www.scribblehub.com/series-finder/

Good luck on your novel and thanks!

Smut can have a plot, right? I was referring to the more hardcore porn stories

    K. Just sometimes kinda a good idea to specify how much "plot" is enough plot.
For example, some straight-up porn has a definite plot, even if that plot is to serve the porn.
So I think you should specify that the plot itself should be primary, and any pornographic content should serve the plot…?

But that's just me being nitpicky. People are gonna try to push the boundaries of what's acceptable eventually. RR gets people pushing buttons all the time.

    Some bugs (sort of).

    1) I can follow and message myself.
    2) I can rate (and add it to my library too) my own novel.
    3) If you have multiple tabs of Scribbly open, and you click on your alerts in one of them, the alerts don't disappear from the other tabs.

And a Feature Request, when I'm writing the chapter, there is no "Preview" button... I kinda wanted to test what the text with the "Announcement" tags looked like (You know, the [news][/news] thingy), but I had no preview button, so I decided to not use it...

I'd really like to have a way to preview the display of what I'm doing before clicking Publish! >.<

not sure about the others, but
1a) you 'can' click the [follow] button, but it doesn't add yourself to your follower list. reload the profile page, and the [unfollow] button will be restored to [follow]
1b) you can click the message button, type in title, message and everything, but you will not be able to send it (to yourself).

    Since runsing already answered #1...
    1. ...
    2. I think it's fine if you can rate and add your own novel. If someone really wants to cheat the system, it's not that hard to make another account. Once there's a large userbase, your one rating shouldn't matter.
    3. That's a bug. I'll add that to my "to fix" list :sweating_profusely:

As for a preview. You can save as draft then preview it.

How aniDB works is it assigns a 1-3 star system for each tag. Anything with 3 star means that tag is a heavy theme, where as 1 star means that it just shows up. To give you an example, let us take the beastkin tag, a novel can have a beastkin main character who lives in a beastkin village. In that case the tag would be 3 stars, now let us say the novel has a arc dedicated to beastkin and that is pretty much the end of it other than characters showing up from time to time. That would be 2 star, or a novel can have a single beastkin show up as a side character, that would be 1 star.

Another example can be the tragedy tag, 3 star would be every arc or every other arc, someone dies or bad things happen. 2 star would be that there are a few major tragedies in the novel but not a central theme. 1 star would be that there could be a tragedy in the beginning and pretty much that is it.

Effectively, it is a useful tool for people to distinguish how major of a theme the tag is inside a novel. I'm sure even on NU you've seen plenty of complaints about tags people saying "this only happens once in a novel, why does it have that tag" or "this isn't a central theme of the novel, the tag is misleading"

    So:
    3 stars = central theme
    2 stars = important theme
    1 star = shows up

well, as I was seeing this scribblehub page, there is something that lacks here, and is the continue reading button, the one that exist is the read that always start from the first chapter, but if there are one that send you to the last chapter you had read? it would be great, also, a bookmark option for chapters would be the best where one mark the part of the chapter so one can read later.

Also, would be there multiple language support? because while starting a chapter I noticed that there are a language setting but it's not really implemented yet, if there is one, a good idea is give support to translators that wants to translate the novels from here.

I'm on a Samsung phone and using the default app called "internet". I go to read Fork This Life and once I'm on the page where I can actually read the book I tap once on the screen to make the top bar appear (the one I mentioned earlier). Leaving that top bar on the screen I scroll up with my finger and while still holding my finger on the screen I scroll down. This results in the bug where the top bar that we put on the screen earlier by tapping, falls down about 30% from the top as long as I have my finger held down.
    Hope this helps!

I hope I’m not just repeating what someone else said, but can you make it so that you can change the chapter organization. Like switch it from 15 to 1, to 1 to 15. Does that make sense? @Tony
