i know right. i really like the cool badass semes who r all hot and amazing and everything all that and then i fan girl all to my self in the dark at night like some old creep... but i usually like it when the seme and uke are both "equal" especially the uke since i kinda dont really like those uke's who r all crying and damsels in distress waiting for a savior (aka seme) or just plain powerless... that promt is just getting old except for a very very few novels that ive read and those have amazing character development or plot. hehe.... english M/M novels.... which oneess???? can u give some recs? (ive read quite a bit but only really liked very few books..) have u read the nightrunner series??
I’m with you 100%. I love the cliches and the outliers all the same. I also love a yandere seme. But reversible still makes my heart doki doki (dark heaven on Lezhin is a good one) although perhaps I just like it visually? Either way, the two in this story seem like they could do it. Now I really want someone to translate this it sounds soooo goood
。。。off the top of my head, Ella Frank's "Temptation" series. I also like Megan Derr & S.E. Jakes a lot as M/M authors but i think the majority of their books have more of a top/bottom set up than going both ways (though some do...) same with author L.A. Witt. Those are my general go-to authors, anyway~ i haven't read that much english fiction in the past year or so though, just hungrily eating up chinese webnovels haha
I guess I'll take your word for it with Temptation and dive in head first tho it does sound good... I must say that if you haven't read Lynn Flewlling's Nightrunner series, you should. I really liked her work, especially with the story building and characters. I still haven't found another living being who'd even read the book tho...  (Trying to rope u in to this one women fandom) Edit: what the fuck did I just read? I finished 2 of the temptation series books, and it was so.... Hot... God damn those books, I've basically gone without sleep for the past 24 hours and wow... It's like I read a porno but why the hell am I hooked?? The first actual English series I actually read this year and wow... I'm babbling... Thanx for the awesome recs, I'm going to die of insomnia and anemia (cause I quite literally feel like puking) Needed to say this before I hit the bed, I needed to put my appreciation out there. Wtf I knew everything about scientist and interracial will always have it's sad tidbits. ML is right, humans are indeed ugly and it's so sad for them that they still get fascinated towards humans.
From reading other spoilers, what I understand is this: SZ was engaged or married to a woman who was there with him. She was ‘seduced’ by another organism from Nibelungen and...I guess rather than saying she got pregnant, was used as breeding ground for a child. She died, and the ‘baby’ is the one you’re asking about. He fell for SZ in some way, but was betrayed by him somehow to do with research I think. I think it tried to kiss SZ at some point but he dodged it. From what I’ve gathered, he will turn up again, and the two of them will start anew. Something along the lines of SZ asking him to kiss him again. Of course, there’s a lot of stuff that happens in the interim. It’s important to note that SZ is also being forced to a certain degree by others, but I don’t know how, by whom, and to what end. There is an evil S ranked (I think) organism on earth side that is an enemy, but I’m not sure if he’s related to any of that.
Here to add on more spoilers about SZ because he's now my fav character because he's like the "bad" guy but he's not. He's like the character who makes the hard decisions no one likes so everyone hates him. The author even had to come out to say something when apparently readers were saying he was a slag/scum First of all the S-rank organism that's involved with SZ, based on MTL, the name is translated into "Song Rin" but han yu pin yin (chinese pronounciation) is Song Lin. Not sure how the translation team will go but I'm inclined to call him SL. Their story feels similar to ZY and MY but with the not so good ending so far. I'm only at chapter 72 (reading it via raws/semi-MTL when the raws confuse me) so I don't know the rest yet but here's what I'm gathering so far: Spoiler: Their past As spoken in previous spoilers, SL is the offspring of this other S rank and SZ's fiancee (who dies). SZ then raises SL for many years so he inevitably has good feelings for SL hence giving SL his name. Dr Jiang, that renown virologist, is SZ friend and he appears in the story and mentions that back then, SL will give him (Dr J) a pitiful look whenever SZ ignores him. I think Juli corp basically forced SZ to use his spinal fluid to "lock" SL's ability like how SZ later used ZY's spinal fluid to lock MY. There's a convo between MY and SZ later on where SZ denies it but MY points out that SZ's back has like scars from multiple spinal fluid withdrawal, that SZ was probably continually withdrawing his own spinal fluid even though they had already successful locked SL to research a way to "unlock" SL in order for SL to survive in nibelungen. And because of that, SZ will often get backaches Anyway Juli corp researched on SL, I think it's his spinal fluid that's used to create the neurotoxin stuff. And they then used SL to hunt down his father (the one who seduced SZ fiancee previously). It's not a good fight since it's 2 S-class. In an attempt to protect SZ, SL is gravely injured and at that point he realises that he is being used by Juli corp (I'm actually a bit unclear of this part because somehow this is where SZ "betrays" him?) and leaves to recuperate himself from his injuries. That's where SZ and SL separates. Throughout the main story SZ seems to be looking for SL. Some convo between MY and SZ reveals that during SZ and SL time together, SZ truly cared for SL and SZ repeatedly teaches SL the greediness of humanity to protect him and that SZ hurt SL in order to let SL "quit his addiction" to him but at the same time, SZ had not quit his own addiction. I feel like throughout the story SZ has some bad foreboding conversations I just wanted to include because it makes me a bit worried (glad to know it's HE but I really want more happy SL/SZ). Some scene intensive spoilers ahead. Spoiler: Foreboding Chapter 59 MY mentions that when SZ smiles without a care, he actually looks nice and asks whether that's what his "brother who came first" aka SL was attracted/confused by. SZ replies that if there's a chance, MY can help him (SZ) ask him. MY then ask what is he (SZ) planning and SZ replies that he isn't planning anything but that rebellion and the pursuit of freedom will all have a cost and if you don't want the people you care to go through fire for it, then you have to be prepared to destroy yourself. MY then comments that the world of mankind is complicated. Chapter 69 SZ and Dr J convo after ZY is infected. SZ tells Dr J that he needs ZY to live well and Dr J responds that that is up to fate and not up to him and Dr Cook's research is almost successful, then they, the chess pieces, will soon be useless. SZ replies that Dr J can relax as he (SZ) will for sure be unplugged before him (Dr J) but he needs everyone to be alive. Dr J, who had been joking around earlier, turns serious and ask if anything happens to SZ, what will SL do. SZ says that Dr J doesn't need to worry, he has made preparations. Dr J replies that no one can make preparations for SL. SZ says to let it be and not think too much. Chapter 70 They're about to head out to try and hunt down that wayward scientist. SZ tries to requests from MY one thing and MY replies that he knows what SZ is trying to ask and that is to protect SL (who had been helping them track that scientist) and make sure SL survives but he should know that what SL wants is not just to live. SZ then opens a drawer and there's a book where in the first page is a book with a photo of him sitting at a desk and a teen holding a harmonica smiling at him. He touches the other's faces and quickly withdraws his hand as if stung. Glad to see the translation is reaching this part soon!
