It may just be me but I sometimes wonder what people actually look like. I bet we actually have several model like people or maybe some famous people. Who knows? Not the majority, that's for sure. However, I understand that this anonymity is what those people desire. I'm just being selfish. But how does everyone else think?
what difference does it make? its not like i'm going to act or treat anyone any different. male, female, human, non-human made no different. its just pixel people.
If can see the person behind the screen, those malicious rumors would be less viral...I guess. Less 'One click to ruin a life' thing, I guess...
Honestly, anonymity is a nessecity, I don't want my employer to be able to find out what I do in my spare time, there is enough information available to be problematic, no need to take away the default anonymity and make the connecting easier than it has to be Also, if you were famous, would you want to be bothered by random scrub number 20475957 when you just want to relax with your daily dose of webnovel/mmo/moba or whatever it is thou do to relax? Nope, nope, nope...
you know! with Anonymity! people can say their thought unrestrained , being an ASS as much as they can be...... at the same time , avoiding hate wagon when you offended someone
I don't mind showing strangers my face, but on the offchance someone recognizes me and is a loose acquaintance, I prefer going anonymous. I already have/had to deal with them irl, I'd rather not have to deal with them in my free time.

i think we has seen more than enough brainless people who write idiot thing /sensitive in internet and got burned/flamed under hate comments... sometime i dont understand how one post an hateful thing in internet with a mindset or thought that 'that person' wont ever read it...to make matter worse both of them know each other and live in the same neighborhood(this happen to my friend while i still at college and FB freak'in popular where he badmouthing someone in group chat and that person happen to online too, you can guess what happen, they never spoken to each other till graduation)
At this point in life the internet is more like a masquerade ball. I have held the same "outward face" for over a decade now. In some weird way I hold pride in it.
