According to what I have read from the end of the novel, it seems that the Empress used Eli for sacrifice to some monster called Epialtes I think?

It seems that Conrad and Leslie had a relationship since they were young, when she debuted she was finally engaged with him (and that in her own words had delayed the engagement)
On the day of Leslie's debut the new Emperor gave them the offer to marry in the future and found a new noble family. Since she is the only Sperado left and Conrad is a member of the Royal Family, nobody could say anything about it.
As I said before, they already had plans for a compromise but they took them completely by surprise. Conrad told Leslie that he didn't want to keep her by his side, since he knew she had goals of her own, not like him who isn't very ambitious. However, he promised to use his power as head of the family to support her to achieve her dreams.

Leslie was going to dance with Conrad on her debut. But in the end she did it with his mother, father and brothers first. In the extra stories Leslie came of age and kissed Conrad while dancing, it was also clear that she and he are officially engaged.

 

The royal family is.messed up. They knew about the sacrifices going on right.

 

It's implied by Leslie. She figured that with the death toll, the Royal family should've realized that there was something off. The fact that nothing was done means that they probably knew something but valued the powers displayed by the family far more.

Why did the empress summon a monster? Was it because she feared that the leads would topple her power and decided to release the monster to take care of it?

That's twisted but also good. I don't want people to die but the Marquis and Eli were just terrible. I think they got their karma… they were vain and power-hungry. The fact that it was there greed that got the best of them is so…

The last of there line is the second-born, the one they considered sacrifices. The ones standing at the top have fallen and it's satisfying knowing that the ones they looked upon get the last laugh.

Relationship since they were young? Do you mean they have met prior to bumping into each other at the Church and Salvatore house? Or that their history begins there?

What I meant is when she turns 16, she already has a formal relationship with Conrad

Btw, the ML calls Leslie "Shuya" and she calls him "Rad" although only when they are alone (when they were with Beth they just talked to each other formally lol)

Guys there was finally an update!!!

It looks like the Empress isn't on Spearado's side and might try to break the engagement between Eli and the prince. She calls the Marquis foolish and stupid and is showing interest in meeting our cute Leslie. Based on previous spoilers, the Emperess might become the main antagonist at the end.

Also, Leslie is beginning etiquette and it seems like she had received some lessons at the Spearado family. Her flashbacks are always so sad and depressing.

From what i know, he thinks it's funny how she's a rabbit in a family of wolves. Also that when he first met her she was scared, the second time shy, and the third time she actually smiled. So he's interested.
