They are like ants but somehow they manage to do something absolutely out of turn and annoy a powerful force for literally nothing and get hunted like the ant they are and only turn the tables with sheer, out of world luck.

I don't remember what story it was, but I remember reading part of a story where the MC was some hero or such and was "betrayed" and killed by his "friends", and then he somehow got back and started hunting down those people... and I think he teamed up with the previous female big bad Based on the people he killed before I stopped reading, it seemed pretty obvious that none of em betrayed him, as they were obviously never on his side, and given how crazy and full of em selves they all were, they clearly didn't have the ability to pretend to be his friends either, its just that the MC himself is also so damn full of himself that he couldn't see the perfectly obvious staring him in the face...
