but i only know novels/books and not webnovel (only know R-18 western webnovel LOL). Maybe after i got these nominated novels, then i will try to find webnovel to nominate

I'd like to join! Will there be a limit to the length of the novels or the number of chapters discussed, though? It would be unfair to spoil people on the extremely lengthy series.

 

Depends on Arc-chan I suppose, but it seems like super big things like Worm are fair play, so... I guess there is no length limit?

Would need more than just a month like she said though.

• "western" novels, as in original novels written in english. does it limit itself by allowing only western origins?
• i'm interested since we can discuss pretty much everything and i can use the knowledge for myself, but i'm afraid i can't really participate in the recommendations since i don't know many original compositions. how will this case be treated?

 

No merely originally written in English. Western in origin it certainly does not need to be. You don't need to participate in the nomination phase at first. Merely seconding a novel that looks interesting in synopsis is appropriate in such a scenario

Anyone may join, the main purpose being reading and discussing of course.

I would put a limit on how far I would allow the group to discuss per week in order to keep the spoilers down. If it was a novel that we would spend a month on, we would limit it into quarters of the novels, with each quarter being available for discussion in that week.

There is no intent to limit the length of the novels picked. If people want to read Worm, then they can read Worm.

 

There's probably going to be more of a focus on being an English original than whether it's Western or Eastern. Then again, ones that are heavily and quite obviously Eastern like generic reincarnation stories and "English Xianxia" will probably be out.

That's fine. This thread is about raising awareness of Western WN for people like you that don't read them very often. So, go read through some of the nominations being mentioned and tell us how you feel about them.

Edit: Nevermind what I said in the first half. Clarified that it just needs to be an English original.

 

I wouldn't go that far. More like if we pick more than 2 novels of the same "genre" in a row, I might encourage the members to try to expand their picks in an alternate direction
