Thx for the spoilers. Yeah, it’s disappointing I want more. It would be nice if there’s stories about the kids, especially for Letty & Eliyan omg he sounds so cute! They’re so cute! New ship? Also, it would’ve been nice if Sylvie ended up with someone, him & Rosie are mentioned together but it’s an open ending (hate this kind of endings lol, at least with bad endings I know what happens) between them whether they’ll end up together or not

 

tbh, alben was really lucky for swearing allegiance with eve. when he decided to approach eve back then, he really chose the right choice. if by any chance he chose brigitte or rosie back then, he would be doomed by now and he couldn't see his bright future with sadella.

 

Is it only me?but i want Sylvie to end up with someone else , not with Rosie. I know she changed in 2nd timeline but still i feel like she change quite abruptly so kinda still can’t comprehend with that.

I get what you mean because part of me thinks the only reason she “changed” was because she knew what happened in the first TL.
Also it’s kind of annoying that she dislikes seeing the MC with the ML, like you literally killed her and it’s only because of him that she is alive now.

 

Totally agree! I feel like the reason for her to change from black to white in such a short time is too weak for me to believe and especially the way she treat Sylvie before the change too.That’s why i don’t want to see Sylvie end up with her.

chapter 89-111

Spoiler: timeline

• MC stayed at the mining village. New facilities were completed (a few mills, public furnaces, bathhouses, and a flower bed for each house used for planting vegetables). Because manastone usage was banned at mines (thought MC also find it ironic), they have to use a normal furnace.
• Homunculi were finally could learn hands on from what they were taught in theory on how to make bread.
• MC praised Alben for his work. Alben wondered out loud if he's probably MC's #1 confidant. ML looked bitter immediately after hearing that. He asked Alben how is that possible to which MC responded that the imperial family favor the use of brains over body. ML couldn't refute as it is true and Alben told him not to worry since 2nd place isn't so bad and he's already receiving lots of love from the body (referring to sex since he doesn't know they were fake rumors). He even emphasize the body twice making ML's expression even worse. Peony then ask shouldn't #1 be Sedella to which Alben agreed to ML is bumped down to #3. ML who had never been behind anyone felt as though #3 is the same as the bottom so he told MC he will work hard.
• The homunculi finished cooking and Alben tried to push forward MC's 'evil' image by insulting the food should be used for livestock. MC felt he might be doing too much and he said he need to do at least that since she need to catch up with the rest of the imperial family since their dignity doesn't come from humanity but from dominance. If their veins are strong, there's no problem. MC who knew ML is the king of homunculi felt more grim. Alben isn't good at comforting, but ML is and he told her what she's doing is good and courageous. MC asked him if he would like to be #1 for today. He pretended to complain that it should be a fixed system and she's being too much. She sincerely told him that all she needs is ML.
• MC continued to describe her goals and wonder if certain things can be done. She's thinking of buying some food and send it to the Baron to give to the mines (sort of secret benefactor). ML told her she will need to spend money and she commented she's not sure if it can be done well but it should be fine since she have Alben. ML's expression stiffened as he commented that she seem confident in Alben. She told him she is confident in him as much as she is in ML. ML's expression relaxed but he wasn't sure why.
• MC made ML hand out food in hopes he can get closer to the homunculus (his ability is suppose to be able to draw them in together which is rare since most homunculi only act on their own and never connect with another homunculi; Syvie had commented ML is weird when he first saw ML at training and ML was commenting how they should work on their group fights).
• Only a boy tried to talk to ML. He asked ML if he can have some food to bring to the shelter (it's the place for the sick). MC then remember she was also going to visit that place and Alben had already confirmed the disease (fever-wood disease)isn't contagious, she set out.
• MC and ML went to the shelter loaded with a cart of bread. Cadellin brought them there. When they saw the sick who all suffered from high fever and dried up patches on their skin with their muscles all stiff like wood. They won't be able to eat bread. Usually miners who worked in mines for over 30 years develop it.
• MC approached them to check on their conditions. She isn't a doctor so ML and Cadellin aren't the hopefully but then she told them she know of the condition. They were surprised but MC knows since she is an expert when it comes to mana. Her master cure a child with a disease called mana clog where the child have high mana but haven't learned magic so the child couldn't form a mana core in his body. It's similar to what the homunculus are experiencing. Because low level homunculus never get their restraints removed, all the mana in their body aren't circulating properly and stay stuck in their body.
• ML and Cadellin were upset at the imperial family who have no concern for the death of the low level homunculus. MC agreed with them but they can't release the restraints since they "belong" to the emperor. ML tell them he can use mana drain (skill can drain mana from mana core of people and drain or store mana in manastone; usually need a form of agreement if draining people). MC wouldn't have been able to do mana drain on homunculus since they have a large amount of mana that it would've been dangerous for her if she tries to do mana drain on them.
• When Alben finds out ML can cure them, he praised ML. ML responded he can't achieve #1 confidant so he's trying harder to become #2. Alben then said he can't lose so he's going back to work. He was feeling competitive.
• Whenever ML fills up his core, he would fly to the sky to release powerful magic attacks to drain them out from his body. He rinsed and repeat this process as he did mana drain to cure the homunculus. MC would marvel over how strong his attacks looking at the sky.
• MC left him to focus on his role and he can tell MC is busy as well when Amber flew around him. He brought Amber with him to the sky and even said Amber is like his princess whose stamina is weak since it couldn't stand the wind. Amber releases black powder (for him insulting its creator) and he laughed.
• When ML landed MC was down there watching and she got surprised since he drained out all his mana that his hair became pink. MC complimented how it's pretty and he curtly responded he's glad she likes it but had no sincerity toward it since he didn't like his pink hair. MC recalled a similar feeling as she hated her lime blonde hair.
• They looked up at the stars and smiled at each other. MC asked if his body is fine and he confirmed he is. MC went back to her barracks and ML went to check on the patients. The homunculus thanked him.
• Suddenly he had a enlightenment as he suddenly recalled from when he was imprisoned in the last life and continued to his release on his own without MC. ML kept wondering where his princess is. When he left the prison, he entered the training camp. Bunches of homunculus eyes looked back at him. He drained their mana. It was then he realized mana drain under agreement can help unlock his ability. He will need more higher level homunculus and he immediately thought of Slyvie.
• ML continued to work throughout the night and until the end of dawn when he finally felt the exhaustion and went to sleep. (1st dream spoiler)
• MC who woke up in the morning dressed herself so Peony can continue resting. She noticed ML hadn't returned. She found where he was sleeping while holding his sword and watched him closely. She felt ashamed for watching him sleep but then he started breathing roughly and she thought he was having side effects from mana drain.
• He woke up from his nightmare upset she abandoned him in his dream. She reassured him it was just a dream. (1st dream spoiler)
• It's been 6 days since they've been searching for the mine. Count Sanchez isn't pleased. He blames Alben. His job is to make MC fail, so he had planned to ruin the search and then later on they can sell the manastone themselves after MC lose the emperor's trust. The plan made him pleased but then MC got achievement for curing fever-wood disease. At that time, Bridget sent him a letter rebuking him that he can't do his job properly. Hossen decided to screw up something in the village.
• Next day, Hossen arrived at the village. MC let Alben deal with him. Alben can't find any pleasantry with Hossen as even when there's evident of his misconduct, he was never punished.
• Hossen followed Alben to his barracks and noticed written plans of how to exploit homunculus. Alben pretended they were plans ordered by MC. Hosen began to think MC have the ability to exploit homunculus so no wonder Bridget felt threatened by MC.
• Alben fed Hossen info that Hossen think he can use to his benefits such as Alben bringing up how the village only shares that one well for water.
• Two days have passed since then, at night, ML went out with Amber spotting Alben walking around suspiciously. When he approached, Alben, he scared him. Alben then told ML to go somewhere with him as he laughed mischievously. They went to the well and hid themselves. Alben told ML that the Count received a latter to move tonight.
• An hour passed, ML sensed something actually suspicious now. It couldn't be seen with the naked eye but he knew someone was approaching. He told Alben. Then they heard something being dumped into the well. The person using invisibility magic was going to leave when Alben tell ML to go out. ML used his nullification magic to reveal the Count. Alben started yelling they caught someone.
• MC showed up and reprimanded the Count for trying to command ML when she's the only one who have the right to. When she asked for the situation, Alben explained. ML told her Hossen poisoned the well. Cadellin's face went white since thousands of homunculi depend on this one well.
• Hossen won't admit to it even after they tried to use his invisibility magic as proof for his suspicious behavior even though he denied having done that. ML swept his sword to make Hossen kneel. Natasha came and said she can use a spell to detect if magic was used. Natasha then informed MC that 2 of the wizards from the Ivory Tower work with the Count and had given him an invisibility scroll.
• MC told them they don't need Hossen's confession since Amber has surveillance feature and it was with ML at that time so it caught everything.
• MC left Alben to find everything on Hossen and deal with disposing him. No matter how much purification magic is done, the well can't be used again. MC smiled since now she has a reason to get the emperor to upstart her water irrigation plan. She will also write a letter to reveal Hossen's crimes.
• Everyone set out to do their role that MC commanded of them. Only ML, MC, and Hossen left. Hossen thinks his plan can still work but then flashes lit up in the night sky revealing the location of the gorge. Hossen's face turned white. Everyone congratulated MC.
• MC is busier now travelling back and forth from village to gorge. Natasha was excited to inform her they're grade A manastones from the gorge and also rechargeable (this gets placed into energy infrastructure throughout the nation in side story). They also found out the tail of the dragon is the most valuable part. MC told them to research on that since they believe the tail might have regeneration abilities since dragons are like lizards.
• On the carriage ride back, ML and MC discussed about future issues. It seemed they can't avoid a battle with dragon in the near future. MC knows from the last life the next dragon will be Ambroxa and ML will participate in that war. He'll awaken his power as king and there will be huge sacrifice as many homunculi died. She'll have to send him back to fight it.
• ML who didn't know what MC is thinking, felt it's a good opportunity for him to raise the ranks to become useful to MC. He noticed she looked grim and apologized to her that he only said it because he wanted to be someone most valuable. She told him his existence itself already gives her strength so he just need to stay by her side. When he asked her why, she wasn't able to answer.
• Raman, Natasha and the other wizards came up with potions and spells to keep the well poison from spreading, but the purification is too slow (20 years). She asks if there might be a plant that purifies and he mentioned a branch from the world tree might do it, but it's something of the legends so it would be impossible.
• MC who was looking tired was given a stamina potion by Peony who said Raman brought them. MC was excited since it looked like Raman is making good progress with the stamina potion research. She wondered if she should get some to drink when she returns back to the palace. Peony told her it also works for male stamina. She told Peony to get enough for the palace then.
• Peony left. MC told ML he doesn't have to worry since she'll drink everything. He told her he should probably drink once in a while since there were rumors that MC's stamina is better than his (since the imperial family members have high stamina).
• Cadellin came. MC and her discussed ways to solve the water issue at the village.
• MC became a secret benefactor using the Baron to gift the village about 100 goats for them to have something to drink temporarily (goat milk). The goats will also benefit them long term as the villagers can use it for meat and clothes later on if they use the goats well.
• One morning, Alben came running with letter from the emperor giving them permission for the construction of an aqueduct connecting the village and the Lake. Desmond II was also very pleased with the news of the search. He already pledged to prepare a banquet to reward MC.
• Marquis Rimitielo suggested to the emperor to name a scholarship program after her. MC felt the Marquis had been suspiciously siding with her. She thinks the Marquis is trying to get her or Rosie has his son's wife, but she has no intention of becoming a Marquis's wife. Also she's not worrying about marriage atm.
• Count Sanchez was punished as the emperor was angered after hearing he poisoned the well. The reason is because homunculus are properties of the emperor and the Count tried to do something to them and that can be taken as a challenge toward the emperor.
• Before they can start building the aqueduct, they have to defeat the beasts in the lake. MC left that job to ML. Because it is the law the personal knight have to stay by the imperial member all the time when they're outside of the palace, MC will have to accompany him to defeat the beasts.
• Some homunculi were worried for ML. They're felt closer amenity toward him since he cured them. ML still felt awkward around them and just told them he just follow whatever MC tells him.
• ML threw some boulders into the lake to get the beasts to react. 9 huge serpents that looked like water worms showed up. ML was surprised that they're larger than usual so they might be mutated. ML told MC to stand further away. He was going to hand her the sheath so she can use Aegis to protect herself but she told him her barrier is better. Somehow he felt excited that MC is watching him fight, but then he told himself to focus.
• 12 more giant worms came up. ML realized they're all tentacles from one body. MC is excited she can finally test her new skill, but then ML blocked for her, not noticing her disappointment.. He then decided to go into the water.
• Napendes the name of the slightly mutated beast had lived in the lake for hundred of years and was considered the owner of the lake before until it fell asleep for some reason. Now it awakened. It's core is usually located in the neck cavity. Cutting the neck and mouth is easy, the annoying part are the tentacles.
• ML used his magic to heat up the lake causing the beast to jump out. MC screamed in disgust from its appearance. ML responded to her scream and decided to quickly kill it for dirtying her eyes. MC cut off some of its tentacles with her new skill. Her skill is pretty OP as anything that tries to touch her gets cut instead, even ML think it's a bit absurd.
• He was able to get to the beast's throat but it was too big his sword couldn't easily reach its core. The ML realize what the beast was trying to do. Its collapsing the side of the lake to go after the ground MC is standing on. MC screamed and slipped into the water.
• ML grabbed her arm and tried to pull her up. She was using breathing magic so she was able to call his name. She placed breathing magic on him so he can breathe as well. ML called her name and she told him she's fine. After some calculation, she hugged ML around his neck and used her skill cutting off all the tentacles (she had to hug him so he doesn't get attacked by her skill).
• Napendes tried to eat them. ML then stab its throat and cut out its core. The beast finally died, but the arms hanging around ML slowly weakened their hold. He realized her skill used up too much of her mana so she can no longer using breathing magic on two people. He apologized to her before he sealed her mouth with his mouth.
• MC was coveting the air from his mouth and they both stare at each other. MC's heart beat loudly and from her surprise she accidently moved a little and their lips released a bit forming bubbles.
• ML released is arms that were around her waist and shoulder and placed his hands on her cheek and pulled her face so their lips are together again. MC's face went blank and she finally came out of the water while being held by ML.
• They walked in awkward silence. (first kiss spoiler)
• ML knelt down as if asking for punishment but she excused him and put out her hand to help him up. He should feel relieved but he felt slightly bitter.
• After MC recovered some mana, she dried them up with magic and they returned in silence.
• ML had kept thinking how crazy he was since he came up from the water. He couldn't get the memories out of his head. From her soft lips to their mixed breathes. When he thought how romantic it was to breathe through each other's mouth, he started to sense his flow of consciousness and tried to erase his thoughts. He even start to delusion himself into thinking MC wanted his lips, not the air. He wiped his face with his hand to drop himself but then when his hand went stopped at the corner of his mouth, he started to remember again.
• MC already walked passed him and called back to him. He stopped himself from his thoughts and hurried his pace again.
• The aqueduct construction started and it'll take 3 weeks to complete. They won't be able to see the completion since they have to leave soon. Cadellin told her, she will bring her the news. MC promised to stop by again. MC pledged to have more power to do more on her return. For now at least the homunculus there can live longer with better conditions.
• Heading back, MC almost couldn't even hold ML's hand when he extended it to help her on the carriage. She kept thinking back to the kiss.
• The news of MC's success spread. Bridget reading the newspaper grew upset and threw it. Bridget is still 1st in succession but MC's ranking had risen to 5th. Ever since the tea party, Stefania and Derek had been working harder for Bridget as if they had been warned.
• Hessia had wanted to pursuit to accuse MC for putting Bridget to sleep during the tea party but Bridget silenced it since if it gets revealed then people will know MC's magical ability is at least as high as hers and for Bridget there's nothing better than alchemy and magic.
• As MC returned home, crowds gathered to warmly welcome her. Some asked to see her face or wave to them. (Imperial family members usually wear a veil to keep a mystic concept to maintain authority and dignity.) The crowd was so heavy the carriage will take forever to reach the palace and since they have a banquet celebration that evening, MC decided she will take a nap in the carriage to preserve her energy. Only ML stayed away as he listened to the chants for his princess while she is already asleep on his lap.
• They arrived when the sky darkened. Sedella and MC had a touching reunion where both stared at each other with bitterness and affection in their eyes. Alben whispered to ML that he have to learn so he can be #1. ML warned him not to learn it.
• Rihanna and Hugh came over to inform them they have to start preparing for the banquet. (Hugh is the one in charge of ML.) Julie brought the ear cufflinks MC requested before for ML. When MC put it on ML and touched his ear, he flinched. She asked him if it tickles and he hesitantly responded no. As she was focusing, he looked at her lips from his eye level.
• Julia told MC Rosie started a new fashion trend where she would homunculus would be painted flowers on their neck and chest (to show off the traces of love making). Julia recommend MC follow the trend and she drew a flower on ML's neck despite not being pleased with it.
• Everyone congratulated her as she entered the banquet with ML. Some even give her advice on ways to leave beautiful kiss marks so she can "decorate" ML beautifully. MC got embarrassed. The ear cufflink got popular.
• Noble sons introduced themselves to MC in hopes to charm her all competing against each other for her favor. They tried to give her alcoholic drinks. ML stopped them and told them she had enough to drink. Alben approached her to keep them away. MC and Alben pretended to be close too keep the noble sons away. Alben was excited as MC is raising up in ranks. He warned her not to fall for the young noblemen's seduction, and continue to say ML will probably get rid of the bugs. Alben turned to ML when he didn't answer. Alben asked again and ML hesitantly agreed as if forced. He turned his head as if hiding something.
• Bridget approached them with her fiance to congratulate her and left. Alben failed to offer a drink to MC 5 times before she finally got one as ML kept intercepting them even if they weren't much.
• The emperor showed up and rewarded MC the Countess of Serenita title and property. (She retired there after her reign with ML at last chapter.) Everyone was surprised as the emperor rarely give title to his children so the titles won't run out. Most children would just marry into the noble family instead of having their own title so it was special. MC thanked the emperor belatedly.
• Alben warned her that now there will be even more young noblemen vying for her now since even if she can't get the emperor seat, they can at least aim for the Count seat.
• Pelios Rimitielo (Marquis Rimitielo's eldest son; Kalis's older brother) kept trying to look for an opportunity to approach MC. Currently Pelios is the heir and strong contender to be Rosie's fiance, but MC knows Kalis will become successor based on last life. Rosie didn't have any fiance last life as she only wanted ML.
• Right as when the shield named Alben disappeared, all the young noblemen flocked to MC. MC mentioned Alben again to disappoint them and was able to escape with ML thanks to that, but then Pelios showed up. He congratulated her on her recent reward from the emperor, and requested if she would allow him to call her Countess Serenita. ML got upset and responded to him how he dare to call MC. Pelios didn't understand and tried to explain to which ML told him that MC haven't been removed from the position as successor to the throne so how could he lower her position to Countess. Pelios then realized his mistake and tried to apologize to MC. She reminded him Rosie was also invited to the banquet. He saw Rosie who had just appeared at the banquet and left. ML thinks he the most annoying bug today. She told him it's still too early to rank.
• Kalis then showed up. He put up a stance of apologizing for his family showing his dominance. MC is a bit interested and allow him to continue talking with her. Kalis eventually tried to offer her the position of the Marquis wife as he is sure to get his father's position. He knows MC approached him before at Rosie's birthday banquet with political interest in mind. He now knows MC is aiming for emperor position and not to marry into a family so declared himself MC's supporter. Pelios saw MC gave Kalis a drink and thought Kalis intercepted him.
• When she excused Kalis who got a bit drunk, ML asked her if she gave him a drink on purpose. She told him it's a good strategy to get rid of bugs by showing favor to Kalis since he is handsome and from a good family. She asked him if she did well and he agreed. He was a bit relieved that no matter what handsome young noblemen had approached MC, she didn't care and he wasn't sure why. MC wanted to go rest.
• Rosie and Sylvie showed up. MC knows Rosies survives using the power of the social world since she's not good at politics. The reason why she called herself the white rose is because she's 'untainted' by politics. To Rosie, she thinks MC is a coward trying to get popular through politics instead of competing fairly over social skills and beauty. But MC corrected her and told her that she have no intention to even compete with her since what she is vying for is politics and while politics and society are not full separated both can each be attractive (Rosie's beauty can be attractive while MC's position can be attractive as well but they're separate things).
• As they left, ML whispered to MC that she has multiple faces and she told him she was just copying what she saw before. Rosie on the other hand was upset as it had been a long time since she felt defeat. She has to regain her position in popularity and to do so in the next event, but it's unlikely her personal knight can beat MC's personal knight. Her eyes followed ML's back as she thought to herself if only he was hers. She wanted the best. Even so she knows with her power even if she borrow use the Philosopher's stone she won't be able to imprint him. The desire for ML destroyed her pride as she knows she can't have him. As she thought more, she got more jealous since MC also has great talents in magic and alchemy.
• It was a night when ML has to work "overtime". Sedella left the two alone in MC's bedroom. MC sat down on her bed and leaded to the side and without an ounce of energy left, she felt asleep. ML asked if she fell asleep. He couldn't let her sleep in such an uncomfortable position so he laid her to the center of the bed and covered her with a blanket. He sat down on the bed and looked down at her as he moved her hair to the side. This wasn't unusual as he often look at her face when she sleeps, at the bedroom, in the carriage rides. He think he had developed a strange habit from the imprinting, but he didn't feel any rejection toward it. He started to gaze at her lip for a long time. His eyes darkened and he recalled the soft and moist sensation. ML regained his senses as he called himself crazy.
• He walked to the couch and his face was a bit red. ML decided to switch his thoughts and think the princess had gotten attractive that she became the desires for those noblemen. Whenever he sees them, he feels hostility toward them. He had stayed with MC throughout the banquet but he wasn't enough to deal with the young nobles, whereas Alben and Kalis were better shields for MC just by being by her side. MC is a homunculus so they didn't treat him as competitor as he can't enter the marriage market. It was ironic that as a personal driver is always with the royal member, attends the night, in charge of the sex education before marriage, but is treated as non existent in the marriage market. It was a depressing subject for ML. Someday his princess will also marry and not one but many since the emperor is obliged to produce many offspring with strong alchemy talents to manage the Philosopher's stone.
• When he thinks about what her child might look like he felt strange, both happy and unhappy.
• The next morning MC met with the emperor. Desmond II is proud of MC except there's one thing she lacks the most. Stamina. When the emperor mentioned that, MC noticed her father looks like a warrior and seem strong. She felt more respect toward her father. He told her to start taking horse riding and swordsmanship lessons.
• The emperor called ML and told him that the rumors going around is uncomfortable as he knows ML and MC don't have sex at night. He reminded ML that it's the personal knight's responsibility for premarital education before marriage so he should be doing his role. ML told the emperor he'll keep that in mind even though he isn't pleased with the content of the conversation. The emperor reminded MC that as someone from the imperial family, she should have stamina.
• When they left the main palace, they awkwardly discussed on marriage as she started listing what would make a good partner. (discussion on MC's marriage spoiler)
• When MC excused herself and left ML alone, he thought how crazy he must be to start trying to match himself to her wishes for a good partner.
• MC who returned to her place started to think about all the things she have to do. Her businesses have been expanding to cleansers, shampoos, and massage oils. The scholarship system that was named after her was in progress and she have a few more students to select. She told Sedella to tell Balbo she wanted to do business with the smithy. The Summer Festival is approaching and a tournament will be held for 15 days.
• MC had received 6 letters from Rimona while she was away. She felt guilt as she wasn't able to reply to them before making RImona worry for her. She also feels guilty for hiding her secret that she's a princess. Sedella believes Rimona will forgive her. Soon it'll be known publicly that the 7th princess is the benefactor of Rimona and Rimona will get targeted by Bridget. She told Sedella to warn Pegasus group about it.
• Viscount Fritz was in trouble this morning. He's the bookkeeper for Bridget's family for years. Sedella was able to find out as she befriends the maids from all over the palace. • Debonea Prison: It's a place where demons used to be hunted, judged and executed hundreds of years ago when gods existed, a place historically known for its torture.
• MC told them to look into Chansley as he is the epitome of a corrupt noblemen.
• ML returned to his knight's quarters where Sylvie had recently returned as before him. Sylvie asked him if he had just returned. ML responded yes and Sylvie mentioned it's pretty rare for him to return later than him. Along with the fact that ML looked tire and stayed overnight on the day of the banquet, it let to many misunderstandings with Sylvie. Sylvie was going to make a comment about MC, then stopped himself. ML was uncomfortable with the misunderstandings but also can't reveal the truth. They talked a bit about their job.
• ML then recalled being Rosie's personal knight and wondered whose Sylvie's master before. He was sure it's not his princess and he shudder to think of the tragedy that was difficult to imagine. He wondered how Rosie imprinted himself since she took 5 hours to imprint Sylvie.
• ML asked Sylvie. He swore under his sword he won't tell anyone in order for Sylvie to tell him the secret. The emperor sacrificed the Philosopher's stone to help her imprint Sylvie. Since ML doesn't know the limit of the stone, he's not sure how Rosie got him but he suppose she must've suffered a lot to obtain him.
• Sylvie also swore under his sword for ML to tell him what happened at the mines. ML told him he's the king of the homunculus. ML didn't seem like he was joking so Sylvie believed him. ML then ask Slyvie if he can help him. It'll benefit him too since it can negate his imprint. Sylvie endured harsh nights with Rosie. He agreed as he wish to have his own will.
• ML found out one Sylvie is equal to all the homunculus he drained from the mine. It definitely was better taking mana from someone strong. He could easily fill up his mana core up quickly. At the moment he was resting for a bit as he is using his Aegis to drain out his mana to refill the core again. He looked over to Sylvie whose hair is white. Suddenly he felt enlightened that even if he drain out all of Sylvie's mana his hair color will remain the same. He asked Sylvie if he's on vacation. Then he told him to take a day off and proceed to drain out his friend's mana.
• That night ML dreamt his 2nd dream. He concentrated on the dream as he hopes to find answers. (2nd dream spoiler)

What I adore the most in this story the fact that Ml is his own way King while the MC is the future Emperor

 

What does this means? Is it because he felt forced? Or is it because, despite the innocent facade Rosie presented, she tortured him on bed??

 

Not sure. Maybe both. Maybe she's a dom in sex (given how she left so many love making traces on his body and made Sylvie show them off during a banquet; MC felt bad for Sylvie as she know it's pretty demeaning for Sylvie). Also he could be mentally tortured in the sense where he feels shameful for those acts since Sylvie has a very chivalrous personality. He was pretty mentally tortured when he had lustful dreams of Eve too and felt guilty about it.

Chapter 112-123

• ML's 2nd dream where he realized Rosie never imprinted him. At some point when he couldn't stand all his deeds with Rosie he went to escape to a garden. There he met MC. It was a rare occurrence where the person he had always tried to find would approach him first. She was a bit worried as he was leaning against a tree and sliding down. He had told her about become Rosie's knight and when she mentioned Sylvie, ML reacted sharply. He asked her if she will pick him up and told her she can't. No one else can be her personal knight, not in front of him. He didn't like hearing her worry about others, but then he knelt to ask for her forgiveness. MC didn't punish him either. She just put some magic on him to calm him down and left. After she left he thought to himself that if she had just chose him, it would've been different but it's already too late.
• He woke up and impulsively ran out of the knight's quarters. His mind kept getting conflicted. MC showed up and he got embarrassed. ML kept trying to tell himself that he's different from him in the dreams. He's not someone who would carelessly call MC by her name, but then when she talked to him, he called her name and awkward silence ensued.
• ML started to panic in his head calling himself crazy and MC tried to respond and he told her it was a mistake. They kept going back and forth until he said he would never forget his duties. Even so MC didn't mind him calling her name .
• He tried to follow through with his duties as to even mention marrying for love. (2nd dream waking up spoiler)
• Eventually she told him she'll make him a child while he blushed from what she told him. After that they strolled the garden and she would pluck him a gladiolus and continue to pluck him pretty flowers as they walk. He found this very symbolic and noticed just by having MC by his side, this life had already been different from the last.
• MC getting horseback riding and swordsmanship training. Her stamina is really low as Sedella and ML look at her with regrets when she slumped down right after horseback riding. For swordsmanship, she got a commoner knight as her teacher. Apparently Bridget chose that teacher for her instead of a noble knight to prevent her from making connections. MC didn't care for that since wasn't hoping to gain military power that way.
• MC's strength was so depleted ML had to hold the cup of water for her to drink. She had told him, he didn't have to do such and when he belatedly realize his actions, he felt embarrassed.
• She asked him if he prepared for his wish for the tournament (for the Summer Festival) since the winning homunculus will ask for their wish to be granted. He haven't thought of a wish yet.
• Euclid was secretly practicing swordsmanship. MC spotted him. He was envious of MC who didn't even want to learn swordsmanship but getting taught when he can't even ask for a teacher and have to secretly learn. Euclid learns from a guard homunculus knight. MC thinks they might be close since it's rare for a homunculus to willingly teach and for Euclid to even ask. MC decided to build some connection with him and invited him to her place. Euclid thought she was trying to get close to him for political reasons and she told him it's not completely wrong. ML told MC that she seem to think Euclid's cheekiness if cute.
• MC met up with Anais, Julia, Oliver, Alben, Cayden, and Kalis. Julia didn't like Kalis for what he did when he first tried to trick MC into drinking (this was during Rosie's birthday banquet). The tea party of 9 people (include ML and Sedella) was to discuss countermeasure to deal with Bridget. Marquis Baltheor is a family known for it's military supplies. They will be preparing for the battle to defeat a dragon. Alben looking into connecting Count Sanchez to Chansley to deal with Chansley. Chansley belatedly joining the bath business (like Anais business). Anais had taken over surrounding area in case for the heating systems. Chansley trying to use rechargeable manastone for the heating but since the imperial family will be monopolizing the mine, the prices won't be dropping.
• When they moved to next topic about the tournament, they all looked at ML. Alben advice him the best wish is something romantic and stimulating. They have to capture the public sentiment. Alben have hopes ML will do well as he put his hand on ML's shoulder.
• Apparently Bridget had hosted a tea party inviting all the princes and princesses she's trying to gather to help her. Rosie didn't attend but they can't be sure if it was due to rejecting working with Bridget. Rosie had been actively participating in social events outside of the palace though. MC can tell Rosie is trying to expand her social network since the last banquet.
• Sedella informed MC that Bridget had just entered the emperor's office. She's trying to get ahead by having a personal meeting with the emperor. MC decided she suddenly have the urge to be a good daughter and want to see her father.
• The emperor was pleased to see MC but Bridget was not. Bridget was trying to suggest to the emperor what to use the rechargeable manastones for before MC came. Bridget asked MC what she think they should use them for before revealing her plan. MC already knew Bridget is planning to release the stones to the "public" mainly to the nobles to gain their favors.
• MC told them it's better to keep tight control of them as it'll be a waste for the stones to be used for low level fields (probably in references to Chansley trying to use them to increase his bath business). She suggested using them for public infrastructures like to power magic powered trains and air transportations. This will lower the cost of transporting goods and transportations. Also public infrastructure is owned by the imperial family so it's not a waste. She planned to make them benefit in the long run. She didn't mentioned this out loud, but she knows it'll also benefit mining since with rechargeable manastones, they don't need to mine as much manastones in the future.
• Bridget brought up the need to fight a dragon. MC agreed. Bridget suggested her fiance's family could help in the war with their weapons.
• She also tried to suggest infusing manastones together to get a stronger manastone. She took that theory as a wish to also fuse mana cores together for a stronger homunculus as mana cores are essentially manastone. MC disagree with that since mana core is like the heart to homunculus and fusing them will kill them. She compare Bridget's idea to creating chimera which is illegal. MC also informed them she had Ivory Tower look into fusing mana and they said it's impossible.
• Bridget suggested to diminish homunculi sacrifices for the war, they should have a more systematic system with commanders instead of having them all randomly fight the dragon together. The current group of 300 advanced homunculus knights could be split between 10 commander knights. The commanders will be chosen from the top 10 winners from the tournament. MC agreed with the plan and she pretended to be a younger sister who just learned a lot from her elder sister. Bridget thought MC fell for her plan.
• When they left the office, Bridget told MC that MC won't be able to ever beat her and it'll benefit her more if she just sides with Bridget.
• Sedella and ML wondered how it went. MC told them about the plan to choose commanders. ML thought MC was pretending to be strong, but MC knew the future that ML will be fine. ML worried he's lacking and at the moment he can't reveal to her he's not a normal homunculus (he doesn't know MC knows he's king). He reassured her that as long as he's her sword, nothing else will matter. She just have to rely on him. She accepted his promise. ML is determined to defeat Bridget for hurting MC.
• Homunculus are sent to training camps when they're young. Every year they compete a tough survival game. If they finish last, they disposed or send to labor camps (like to mining). One year, the survival game was an underground maze that must be completed within a limited time. At that time Elijah was a lot weaker than he is now and couldn't escape. Other homunculus didn't care when he fell and Elijah was watching the exit of the maze close right before his eyes. Someone told him to get up if he didn't want to die. A pink haired homunculus picked him up and dragged him like a sack. Elijah couldn't understand what was happening but he clinged on since he also want to survive. He was able to pass the test within the time limit but since everyone passed, they will punish the last person to pass instead. The homunculus who helped him, broke the flag and declared abstention taking the loss. He was immediately taken by the training camp officials. Ever since then, Elijah strangely was unable to become loyal to the imperial family. He tried to find the homunculus with no luck. He wondered if he had died. Elijah decided to give up finding him.
• Fireworks lit up the sky as the Summer Festival is starting. Tourists from everywhere flocked to visit the empire. Laurels are everywhere signifying the tournament. Plays were showcased everywhere. Rimona is also busy with her performances. Many of these performances are based on the knight duels competing for the princess and forbidden love between them. ML is reminded of his last life how he drove Sylvie out of the palace to become Rosie's personal knight.
• MC who watching ML sharpening his sword told him to be nice to Sylvie. ML accepted without questioning her.
• ML head to the stadium with the other homunculus. MC head to the imperial audience stand. Crowds cheered hoping to catch a glimpse of Rosie as she was well known for her beauty though they all had their veils on. They were seated based on their birth order but Rosie who didn't want to sit next to MC, asked another half brother to switch seats with her. This would look bad for MC to the public. Rosie declared to MC that she has a goal to take the top power in social society to the point that she can affect politics. MC didn't bother to challenge her and told her she's glad Rosie has a good goal.
• Rimona performed for the tournament. Bridget knew MC is her benefactor since it have been publicized already called Rimona after the performance to question her in public. She asked if the performance was to support MC. Rimona knew how to answer that intelligently. She told Bridget, she's supporting the emperor who looks after her benefactor. Rimona looked over at MC's direction and smiled as if to ask for praise. MC was proud of Rimona. Even Rosie called Bridget stupid. Since this interrogation made Bridget lose public sentiment.
• Rosie tried to give an advice to MC to use Rimona to further public positive view. The public will support her if there are news MC is friends with a commoner. MC already knows that's true but she didn't have to fake a friendship as Rimona is her real friend. Rosie told MC to watch how she'll win the heart of the people.
• The knights then entered the stadium wearing cloaks. Only 100 knights will participate in the tournament out of the 300. The host of the game will pick 3 names from "random" to interview them before the tournament. It was a "coincidence" the top 3 strongest contenders were chosen ML, Sylvie, and Elijah. They can tell it was rigged.
• The host asked them for their wishes. ML was asked first and his expression froze as he had yet to find a romantic and stimulating wish. He admit he haven't decided yet since he thought he would have more time to decide. The audience and host weren't happy with the answer. Alben who was watching was touching his forehead in grief and disappointment since he trusted ML.
• Sylvie's wish was for a kiss from Rosie. The audience loved the answer. Rosie was pleased. Rosie told MC she should've decided the answer for her personal knight. MC was not pleased as that is Rosie's wish and not Sylvie's. Alben told Sedella ML should've done that. Sedella didn't agree as a public kiss might make the imperial family lose dignity. Alben told her it's just romantic narrative. They don't have to actually show the kiss to people. ML told Sylvie not to worry since he will definitely win as he himself couldn't picture Rosie kissing his friend. MC told Rosie to stop harassing Sylvie. Rosie told MC they can switch knights if she's so bothered by it. MC told her straight up that she's coveting her knight and told her to stop learning bad things from Bridget. Rosie commented MC must've like ML since it's the first time MC express ownership to something.
• Elijah's turn he requested to make a wish to another princess and not his own. He looked over to MC and knelt before her, telling her he will make a request to MC. The audience reacted crazy. ML glared angrily at Elijah. Alben and Sedella don't think this is good since it might make MC look bad if she agree to accept the wish (as though she is coveting Bridget's knight). Everyone waits for MC to respond. ML interrupted and said it's not a question worth answering since his wish won't come true anyway. He look over to MC and told her he will for sure bring her victory and glory like the language of the laurel flower (achievement and triumph). He glanced back at Elijah with a look as if looking down on him. The host got excited as the knight is putting up a duel. ML didn't end it there though. He said he have a wish. The host asked him to tell his wish. ML took a deep breath and looked up at MC from the distance and told his princess he will give her victory so he dare to ask her for the permission to kiss her.
• MC's eyes widened and she flustered. She was glad she's wearing a veil that's covering her expression. Everyone was excited. It was a wish to give a kiss and not to get a kiss. The reactions from the audience was more explosive than from Sylvie's wish. Alben was pleased, clapping and praising the answer. MC and ML continued to look at each other from a distance. MC unconsciously touched her lips remembering what happened at the lake. Rosie responded resentfully wondering if it was a reason he didn't responded first because of this.
• At the same time, Rimona, who was invited as a singer for the opening singer, was watching from the audience. She was about to return to the theater when they started drawing the names as she have a tight schedule with her performances. But when she heard the name of the 7th princess called, she wanted to take a look at the knight since she couldn't see the princess. What she saw surprised her as it was 'Elis'. She immediately knew.
• ML continued to easily win duels throughout the festival.
• During the festival, the knights don't have to attend night services, so after they return to the palace, they would return to their quarters. That night, right as MC got off the carriage, and as she was about to release from the escorted hands, ML grabbed her fingertips and asked her to walk with him for a while.
• As they enjoyed the midsummer night in silence with the crescent moon shining above them, MC then told him he's quite bold today. He opened his mouth in embarrassment but unable to complete his words. He eventually somewhat told her he couldn't help it. She stared at him and he admit he didn't want her to respond to the guy who wanted to be her personal knight. She forgave him since she was able to escape answering. Also she told him that he doesn't have to kiss her. He hesitantly responded that's fortunately and MC agreed. Though both couldn't voice their disagreement to it, they remained in awkward silence.
• MC then teased him if they have to do it how would he fix that. ML went embarrassed again. But then he grabbed the hem of his cloak with his right hand and embraced MC with the same hand as though to cover her. Then with his left hand, he subtlety covered her lip while pretending to hold her cheek. They got awkward and both faces flustered as they both agreed at an angle it'll be difficult to tell.
• He was trying to get rid of the awkwardness by explaining more but the conversation got even worse as they started to ramble about needing to apply saliva on the lips like last time when they were underwater....
• MC then started to busy herself with touching the marble pillars and ML kept looking at the sky counting birds. After some awkwardness passed, MC then told him the issue is he had wasted his wish so she let him come up with another wish and make the previous wish invalid. ML's eyes narrowed as he started to aggressively tell her that he can't since it'll be lying to the crowd. MC was confused.
• ML told her they don't have to do it but don't make his wish invalid. He seemed angry over it. She wondered why he's upset about making it invalid. He told her, he will win for sure. His eyes gave out such determination. After some time with no response back from MC, he told her to go back.
• He returned to an empty room since Sylvie is training. After some thought ML realized why he was upset. He really wanted the right to kiss her. He felt conflicted that he wanted to treat her well but then he also want to do what he wished for.
• When he moved his arm away from over his eyelids, he felt the book of lyrical poems that he had left by the side of his pillow. He opened to book to dried flowers scattering on top of his face. They were the flowers MC had given him pressed dry. ML raised himself up and the flowers scattered everywhere. His ears flustered.

Felt like yesterday's timeline has a lot of fluff. Maybe we'll get more today.

chapter 124-135

Spoiler: timeline

• ML and other winners steadily climbed the tournament pyramid. 10 days later, quarter finals 5th match, 8 players remaining.
• Bridget is pleased. Rosie mentioned out loud Bridget had been sending her desserts every day these days. MC joked that isn't something to boast about since Bridget isn't a young nobleman trying to innocently court her. Rosie shut up with that.
• Compared to most her opponents Snow is more skilled in magic but since direct magic is prohibited in the tournament she can only use the magic stones.
• During Sylvie's duel with Ikalis's knight, Rosie made a plan with Ikalis. Rosie told MC to be reassured since she's not manipulating the match. As the tight battle continued, the opponent knight, Sir Keith, tweaked his sword and when the knights collided, Sylvie's hair string came undone and his long silver hair loosened up and spread like wings. The audience lit up their eyes. The match ended with the spectacle where Sylvie was made to display his silver hair.
• ML won another quick match. His next opponent is Sylvie. He doesn't plan to cut off Sylvie's hair and plan to duel seriously.
• Just then Elijah showed up riling ML up. He mentioned to ML that Bridget will probably abandon him sine if he loses the commander seat, she won't be pleased, so he'll rather switch to side with another princess than be abandoned first. He told ML he will not only win first place but will kick ML from his personal knight position to get the beauty of the 7th princess. ML told him he wouldn't allow a man like hi to approach MC with impure intentions. Elijah mentioned his wish how his wish didn't contain sincerity. He even asked ML if he liked it and touched his lips (asking if ML liked to kiss her since he requested that wish to MC).
• ML knew they were provocation but it still worked on him. Sylvie told him not to be bothered too much about it. ML then muttered to himself it's a life he had saved so he should be able to reap it (referencing to ML saving Elijah at the camp so he think he have the right to kill him). When Sylvie questioned about it, ML didn't explain.
• Next day at the opening ceremony when the imperial members would give their knights gifts to add romance to the mix, MC gave ML a handkerchief. ML as usual act as an exemplary knight promised victory to her. Bridget didn't show up, but when it came to Elijah's turn, he rushed to MC as if there was no tomorrow. She didn't panic and untie her hair ribbon and threw it at Elijah. It was a ribbon Bridget had given MC on her 12th birthday. To MC she was just discarding an old gift but Elijah took it as a precious gift as he kissed the ribbon. ML's gaze was questionable as he hated sharing anything that's related to MC with Elijah even if it was trash.
• ML realized if this continues he's going to become obsessed with MC. He became more vigilant with his own feelings than with Elijah.
• First match was Elijah and Snow. Elijah won. MC was surprised that Elijah was stronger than she thought. ML wasn't happy to hear of that.
• Sylvie told ML that ML have to defeat him first before he can go use his fighting spirit on Elijah. They were both pretty strong opponents thus a considerable amount of mana and stamina had been depleted. ML won at the end using Aegis combining it with a method of turning defense into offense which was inspired by MC's skill. ML supported Sylvie up at the end. The audience was touched with the showing of good sportsmanship and friendship.
• ML reminded Sylvie not to forget his promise to give him mana. Sylvie told him, it'll have to wait until tomorrow since today he lost a lot.
• At the carriage MC was having high expectations that ML will awaken his king abilities during the tournament but she was getting impatient. She doesn't know what ML had been doing on his side. ML on the other hand was also contemplating other things. He asked her what she thought of Elijah. She doesn't really think much about him but ML was really curious. She told him it's useless for Elijah to try to look good in front of her since she only like ML as her personal knight. It was normal for MC to say that but for some reason when ML heard it, it seemed special. He responded that if the imperial family who imprinted him isn't MC, he would also hate it.
• They continued their friendly conversation until they got back to the palace.
• Finally the finals came between ML and Elijah. A lot of people came to watch as it was riled up from the romantic narrative between the two opponent as well. There were more audiences than ever before. At the opening ceremony when the two finalists share a drink, Elijah asked if ML is ready to make room and ML retorted he's not sure where Elijah get such confidence thinking he'll win.
• During the whole duel, they immediately took jabs with their swords and words at the same time. Elijah then displayed a new magic stone on his dagger and used it but ML didn't feel anything different. As the battle furthered, ML realized the stone the stone is stealing his mana. The more ML hits him with his sword and attacks, the more the mana gets depleted. ML felt embarrassed since he didn't bother to refill his mana yesterday since he was hoping to make it easier to drain Sylvie's mana today but now he's having some self reflection on his flawed plan.
• ML finally managed to break the stone. He apologized insincerely, but Elijah isn't too worried since it took a large portion of ML's mana already. Elijah tried to get ML to use Aegis to deplete his remaining mana since ML is sticking to only swordsmanship to try to conserve his mana.
• Eventually he used Aegis to defend himself and when the dust subsided from the attack, Elijah saw ML with pink hair. The host and crowd went wild. ML's face went cold. He hated his hair color and he only wish for his princess to see it but now everyone from the royal family and nobles and the 100,000 spectators had laid eyes on it.
• ML was not worried about the battle even though his mana had been depleted. In fact he attacked faster and more drastic than before. Then he told Elijah he will take some of his mana and used mana drain on Elijah to return his hair to black.
• Elijah realized ML's skills are stronger than before and noticed he had been hiding his skills before. ML said Sylvie is a friend so he had no wish to finish the battle quickly before. He defeated Elijah with a series of harsh attacks not giving Elijah room to breathe.
• When ML left the stadium, he was not in a good shape. He had noticed that Elijah somehow gave him permission to mana drain since he felt he's close to awakening. Elijah strode to ML and ML annoyed, told him to get out of the way and to admit defeat cleanly. Elijah asked ML if he remembered him, but ML didn't answer. Elijah asked why he didn't answer. ML doesn't see the point since he'll only regret himself for saving him before. Elijah felt ecstatic his savior was alive and started to try to get along with ML, calling him brother, even though ML is annoyed with him.
• ML eventually felt better after he ordered Elijah to kneel on the ground and promised he won't do anything to MC and stay there until the end of the ceremony. Elijah agreed without even feeling bad.
• At the awards ceremony, ML repeated his wish and MC granted him it to him along with the golden laurel signifying his win. The crowd and host cheered at the response that the princess allowed him to kiss her and congratulated him.
• Rosie who saw ML's pink hair couldn't keep her eyes away since then. Even now her sticky gaze is persistently looking at ML. MC felt the urge to cover her eyes so she called her name to make Rosie look at her instead. When Rosie did, Rosie then realized MC's intention and glared at MC. ML felt relieved with the glare for the rest of the ceremony.
• After the ceremony was over, ML hid himself in a dark corridor as his fever started to rise. His body staggered and feeling unbalanced, he leaned against the wall. He have to go to MC but he knows he can't even protect her right now.
• That's when he started to have his 3rd dream. He was in the bird cage. MC was telling him he did not polish his charm enough to seduce her. ML was confused why she said that in the first place, but he never got the answer because when he returned to her side, she was already dead. His eyes trembled and when feeling choked, Rosie's voice came up saying MC took her own life.
• (3rd dream spoiler)
• He woke up after the sage performed the time regression in his dream. He then realized when the sage said someone turned back time because he couldn't bear the loss of a loved one, that person was him. He never even got to confess to her before. Before the time reversed, he hoped for miracles in the next life, for her to love him a little. It was a desperate confession and begging and ML returned to reality. With that he said her name 'Eve'.
• Sedella and MC weren't able to find ML. She remembered she can use Amber to find him. Amber seemed to be saying something had happened to ML. MC decided to have to rush to him.
• Amber easily found ML while he was vaguely staring at the sun with a dreamlike look. When MC called out to him, he slowly looked toward her. MC asked who did it. She thought something happened to him and one of the princesses hurt him. He told her he just wanted to see the princess alone so he went somewhere alone knowing she would find him. ML's eyes were filled with love and longing. MC felt embarrassed from his gaze.
• ML mentioned he just realized MC always tries to protect him and MC told him that's because he's her personal knight. He laughed calmly at her response recalling how he wished to be her knight before. He told her he didn't expect she would choose him and admit these days he have lots of concerns as it had been difficult for him to keep his chivalry toward her. Then he gave her a playful smile that she didn't noticed.
• She allowed him to live more wildly if it isn't too serious to the point of treason since being a knight is very strict. She'll be on his side so it's fine. He laughed and told her as long as she's by his side, he won't commit treason. ML thanked her for choosing him. He grabbed her hand and kiss it.
• ML came up with a wish he wanted but he told her he'll tell her later since it seem a bit inappropriate to tell her now. She gave him time. MC was curious what wish it was though since it seemed he already thought of it before.
• That night, ML had calm down but he still couldn't sleep. He kept fiddling with the dried gladiolus flower and recalling his dream. He recalls that MC is the center of the axis for the regression. He was a fool who plunged into a sense of self-destruction, losing someone who was dear to him. Rebelled and won the throne, abandoned his body and mind and empire to bring back everything to the way it was just for a woman he loved. He wasn't able to obtain everything in the last life, but he quickly realized that the feeling of wanting MC had existed from the beginning so he should just stop denying it and accept it. All he need is time, time to win her heart. He was determined to try again what he had failed the last life.
• Winners of the tournament appear before Desmond II to receive their reward, emblems representing the knight commander. Sylvie got 'Knight of the White Night', Elijah got 'Knight of the Blue Blood', and ML got 'Retribution Knight'.
• It seemed ML had awakened his power a bit as homunculus would unconsciously react every time ML passed by them. Sylvie was surprised to see the reactions. Elijah on the other hand was looking at ML with an expression of a child, But it wasn't just the homunculus as even the royal family can feel something, especially Rosie whose eyes were fixated on ML without even blinking.
• MC wondered how she should stop Rosie's obsession. She told Rosie, that's her personal knight and reminded Rosie that she wouldn't be able to imprint ML since she lack the talent in magic and alchemy anyway. As if continuing to mock her, MC continue to say even if Rosie doesn't have her knight, she's still at least the white rose of the empire. But her eyes on MC didn't stay long as it strayed back to ML again and this time MC directly told her, she's telling her to stop paying attention to ML.
• ML who finished the ceremony, approached MC and called her full name sweetly. He then took her hand and told her to return to her place but she wanted to go for a walk to avoid the other half siblings. ML agreed to escort her. He took her hand and started to kiss each of her fingers. MC was amazed from his action in public places. Her eyes met Rosie and she told Rosie she'll go first. She took ML's hand and left the hall.
• When they were out, MC congratulated him. ML told her he will train his knights well and make them loyal to her. MC told them they only need ML, but he told her that since she have him, she also have his knights.
• He asked her if Rosie was coveting him and asked how she warned her. MC knew from before he likes when she claimed ownership of him so she answered him that she told Rosie that ML can only be imprinted on herself. But ML's reaction wasn't as she thought and he even asked sadly if their relationship is only because of the imprint. He told her even if the imprint is removed, he's sincere toward her.
• When MC asked about sincerity, he told her it seemed the princess doesn't understand his heart. He placed his hand over his heart as if making an oath. It seemed as if there were many metaphors and symbolisms to his words and actions today. MC wondered if it's from reading poetry book all night these days and didn't want to misunderstand his words and actions. It was then she realized his gaze was darker than usual and tenacious.
• She quickly changed the mood and told him not to use the methods he learned at the training camp with her (the training camp teaches homunculus sex ed to prep them for their duty for the royals). ML lowered his gaze after feeling bruised and looked somber as if he was fiercely defeated.
• It started to rain and hid under a vineyard rooftop but it wasn't enough to shield them. MC used a barrier to shield them but ML offered to use his sword instead and used Aegis as an umbrella. She laughed a bit at his use for the skill for something like this but he answered her it's to protect her, also homunculus mana is high so using it for this isn't much.
• They decided to wait for the rain to end before returning to the palace. MC felt like she's in a small dome with ML. He asked her if she feels stuffy but she didn't mind and he also responded that it feels like time may stop when he's with her. MC laughed and wondered if she should also learned to speak like that since she felt troubled with his romantic wordings.
• As she was contemplating, the clouds dispersed and rain stopped as the ray of light poured out. ML escorted her and MC held onto his foreman to prevent her from slipping. It was then when they reached a Sycamore tree, water collected from the leaves fell and ML pulled MC to his shoulder protecting her from getting wet. MC hugged him back in no time.
• ML was drenched from head to shoulder. ML looked embarrassed as if taking blame but he didn't mind as MC isn't wet. MC took out her handkerchief and started to wipe his face. He offered to do it himself but she commanded him to stay still. He watched her wipe his face without blinking. The handkerchief ended up soaked and useless but he was still wet, so MC used her bare hands to start wiping the water from his cheeks.
• The unexpected response caused his eyes to shake wildly as he told her to wait. He couldn't hold it anymore and held her hand. MC then realized what she was doing and apologized. They both blushed awkwardly. It's a Wednesday so she told him he can wash and change at her place.
• While ML took a bath, MC focused on her paperwork.
• While he soaked himself i the bath, he kept recalling in detail what had just happened a while ago. He had tried to the best of his abilities while having restraints as a knight to try to seduce her, but whether it was because his natural charm was not enough or he's not her taste, the effect was inadequate for MC. He had never thought it would be easy in the first place but to feel so frustrated and disappointed this early on. He had purposely planned to shield her from the tree hoping to gain pity from her and it worked. The problem arise when she started to wipe his face. While trying to seduce MC, he ended up falling more for her himself.
• He called her name and sigh. He wanted to call her by name but he can't do it. He recalled their previous conversation and realized he's going crazy, criticizing himself for showing off his sexual desires to MC in his last life. It was a bottomless and endless embarrassment.
• As he start to think of what other mistakes he made, carefully reviewing his whole life, self destruction came. Then he wondered what the sage might've told MC before. He dunked himself back into the water again and then came out.
• He decided he won't tell her he remembered the past until she brings it up first. Besides he's not proud of it so it's probably better not to let her know that he knows. The only merit he did was reversing the time, but even that gets offset when he recalled himself as the fierce guy who showed off his sexual desires. No matter how he looked at it, his overall evaluation doesn't seem good. He concluded he's a different person now so he decided to cut himself from the last life and start anew.
• He's not going to defile his mind and body like the last life and devote everything in this life completely to MC. He then recalled Rosie and then remembered that Rosie claimed the baby was theirs. He remembered MC telling him she will make him a child so it was obvious that confidence to achieve it came from past life. MC might've misunderstood. Even though he had fulfilled his duties as a knight in previous life, the kid was a different problem. Even so to explain it, it wasn't something he was completely proud of. He had seduced Rosie for political reasons and then attached another homunculus to her and pretend it was their child.
• He started to question why he lived life so wrong in the past. WIll MC who remembered the past even love him? His eyes start to turn gloomy and he started to suffer as if he already got his heart broken.
• MC was discussing about the stamina potion with Sedella. Although it was originally developed to treat heart disease, she should also try to benefit from the other efficacy of the potion. She planned to market it during the masquerade ball. She told Sedella to tell Raman to focus on the stamina potion for the time being.
• Empress Rumiyu have been making contact with low status aristocrats. It seems she is trying to gather temporary funding. Chanlsey knows about the insider info that the price of manastone will rise so they're trying to buy out. They're trying to raise money to run the Imperial army as their own.
• It shouldn't be a problem to the imperial palace though since they get their mana supply from the Philosopher's Stone rather than manastones.
• Sedella thought it would be trouble if they end up taking charge of the knights and train them, but MC didn't mind. She knows ML will end up being the one in charge anyway.
• Peony who was in charge of MC tonight, gave her stamina potion hinting MC that she will need the stamina for tonight. She told MC to go take a rest and head to bed. She did so and met with ML in the bedroom late. They haven't had their "night service" in so long due to the tournament so it was awkward.
• ML told her there's a problem since Peony had removed the couch. Peony who noticed ML and MC never waking up together in bed decided to take matters into her own hand.
• MC didn't want ML to sleep on the rug told him, he can sleep in bed since she won't do anything to him. He took a deep breath and sat next to her. ML had been reading knight tactic books while waiting before. ML asked MC if she was tired and she told him no with a smile. Then she playfully told him they're in bed. He wasn't sure of her intention and tried to focus on his breathing. She then remind him that he once said that they only call them by their name in bed. ML's eyes shook wondering if this was a test.
• It was a cruel joke to ML even though he knew it wasn't out of spite. He started to feel resentful of his past and got upset over his ignorance when he told her that. Time passed in silence and then MC apologized to him for the joke, but then ML opened his mouth and called her 'Eve' closely to her ear.
• MC's face flushed as she didn't think he would whispered it to her. He didn't stop though as he then continued to keep calling her 'Eve' many times. It was a sweet voice and MC covered her ear with one hand and quickly got up. ML then gave out his hand and MC naturally placed her hand on his hand as she had gotten used to it from his knight role. He then kissed the palm of her hand, instead of the back of the hand or the fingers like before.
• ML was so concentrated on it, MC felt as though they might be doing it on their lips instead. ML then looked up at her and smiled and asked as if there was any problem, but she couldn't answer. MC was too embarrassed to tell that ML was clenching the side of the bed tightly as if controlling himself desperately.
• He then pretended to laugh and blame MC for starting it first. She accepted it and admit she was wrong. She learned not to play with ML in bed. Then she noticed she was wording it wrong and tried to escape from the subject. ML reluctantly agreed and climbed out of bed.
• ML ended up sitting on the floor next to the bed leaning against the wall with his eyes closed. She admired his face for a bit and then got embarrassed remembering teasing him and her face turned red. She recalled it wasn't like this in their last life. She have to train her heart more.
• Due to the high cost of manastone, the cooling system in the palace had stopped. It was hellish for the nobles and royals in the palace. Only MC's residence is enjoying a pleasant temperature as she specialized in life magic. The other royal members rely on their homunculus for the magic but homunculus magic are trained for powerful attack and not fit for life magic, thus in one occasion the fourth prince's palace ended up in a freezing point. They were punished for using attack magic as well.
• MC wasn't sure why this was occurring since the source of mana is the Philosopher's Stone. Then that means there's something wrong with the stone. MC is sure the Philosopher's Stone will become obsolete one day. Half of the stone will disappear but Desmond won't know about that yet. The empire relies heavily on the stone since it's used to create homunculus. The imperial family will not want to give up this basis of power.
• MC believe this will help her get support for her children plan. Once the stone is obsolete, they would be able to still have homunculus when they find a way to let them give birth. MC smiled at the thought of it. ML thought her smile was suspicious and, but he would never have thought she was having ideas of making a baby in her head.
• MC decided now is a good time to get some princes and princesses on her side. With the palace in such a state, they will want to visit her residence more. It was then Bianca and Aloxia (9th and 10th twin 12 year old princesses) the youngest of the imperial family came to visit.
