huh...zich somehow doesn't steamroll his opponent...well that's a change of pace. I do wish the arc would speed up tho
Zich being that desperate against an enemy was quite unexpected. Usually, even when his enemies are stronger than him, he still is full of confidence about defeating them or running away.
I think the pope and the slaughter machine guy are also people that can take him on. I think they were not alive when he became fully active as a demon lord hence he never had to face them directly...just their descendants/successors.
They are. That is why Zich made sure to not become enemies with them. I'm not sure about Weig, but I remember Zich saying that he fought against the Pope before he became a Demon Lord and almost died. This chapter helped me sort out the power levels in the novel. Since Zich got Windur he has been defeating enemies with ease, and Weig said it wouldn't take too long for Zich to catch up with him, so I thought he was at least around the same level as him by now. But now, it seems that either he still is far from it, or Walwiss is far stronger than Weig.
Honestly I think it makes the most sense for the dad to be culprit. He was encouraging Elena to study magic since the robed figures planed for her to gain her mana at some point, so from their point of view, Elena having good skills in magic is a huge bonus. Plus there is a good chance that in one of the brave timelines Walwiss was one of the members of the Hero Party so it doesn't make sense for him to be working against his granddaughter in this timeline.
I think jaewick might be a red herring, a scrapegoat to pull away any suspicion from the father after Glen "reveals" whatever is going on. It was even more nerve-wracking that the Pope was greeting Zich in a friendly atmosphere. Before his regression—when he constantly clashed with the Karuwimans—the Pope had been a very tricky opponent. Moreover, before Lubella gained experiences from her travels around the world with Glen Zenard, he had been Karuwiman’s highest priest. ‘It’s not even a joke that I almost died in his hands.’ One time, as Zich’s notoriety kept growing with no signs of stopping, the Pope personally gathered an elite unit to take care of Zich. Without exaggerating one bit, Zich had almost died then. ‘My enemies just wouldn’t die.’ He could still remember it clearly: the Pope protected and healed the Holy Knights from the rear and even let out some support attacks. Zich managed to grit his teeth through it all and resisted with all he had to just survive. But even then he didn’t achieve a clear victory; the Pope’s troops had simply withdrawn to regroup again, and for a while after that, Zich avoided confronting Karuwimans head-on. Of course, Zich had never fought with the Pope after he gained the title of The Demon Lord of Strength; the Pope was dead by then. However, Zich could never forget the Pope’s overwhelming holy power. hmm...so basically old men are op in this world
Might not be a bad idea to forget about this novel for a few days and stock up chapters, the pacing has slowed down too much.
The amount of stalling and wasted chapters in the latest story is mind boggling. Every chapter is almost empty of any meeningfull content. Smh
Yeah this arc should have been halved. There's been a lost of wasted time with nothing fun, useful, or entertaining going on.
arc is ongoing...the only thing of significance I suppose is that that the bad guy is being tricked into helping them translate the language of the empire...so far that is. it's a foregone conclusion that the bad guy will get fucked with by zich.
We now know that Glen causes strong males to become demon lords and forces strong females into damsel in distress situation to get them into his harem party.
so this arc does not give anything new and only confirms things that we all already took for granted?
