The Spy in the Council two spies have infiltrated the council after stabbing a former member. Neither spy knows the identity of the other but they're both working towards the same goal. The council must meet and decide who is friend and who is foe. However, they only have one thing to go off of: the oath word. How to Play All council members are PM'd the oath word. The spy does not know the oath word and gets a blank PM. Word phase: all players must say a word (and only a word). This word cannot be the oath word. Usually this word relates to the oath word and signals to the other council members that you know the oath word too. Phase ends after 24 hours. However, the phase will end early if all players have said a word. Example: If the oath word is sun, a player might say heatstroke or yellow or solar. You can't change your word. You can't repeat a word someone else has said in the word phase(s) so far. Voting phase: Players must discuss and vote to execute who you suspect to be the spy. Phase ends at 24 hours, with highest voted getting executed. However, the phase will end early if there is a majority, even if some players haven't voted yet. If an innocent council member is sent to execution, the game goes back to the word phase. If the spy is sent to execution, he has one chance to guess the oath word. If the oath word is correctly guessed, the spies wins. Else the spy dies. The council wins upon the death of both spies In the case of a tie in votes at phase end, one person among those tied in votes will be randomly executed. At any point during the game, if the spy thinks he knows the oath word, he may reveal himself and have two chances to guess the oath word. If the word is guessed correctly, the spies wins. Else, the spy dies. Oath Word Guidelines The oath word is a noun. The oath word is not a proper noun. The oath word generally won't be some technical or difficult vocabulary word. Rules & Reminders If you are dead, please no posting in the game thread. Council members may not say the oath word. This includes compound words that include the oath word. Hmm... I hated the two times I played mafia, but this twist sounds interesting and less stressful. Let me think about it...
