If a 28 Days Later happened, I'd be incredibly suspicious of the one person that says they were unaffected, "Yeah, i saw people going insane and killing each other a few days ago, so i decided to hide in my closet eating ramen until it all blew over...weird that there's nobody around now that I'm out of food...."
There's red flags all over that, and then she says she knows where all the surviving guards are, terribly suspicious.

 

Actually there are guys just like that out there. Come apocalypse or disaster turn into a nuke survivalist NEET .
Well atleast lapis picked it up and kept an eye on her or else guts would be gutted again lol.

 

That defense only works, if shit was starting to get weird, so you hunkered down, but she says she saw people going insane in the streets and the guards fortifying the president's manor. That's too much detail, she was out there when the brunt of the stuff happened, she's a witness, at the very least, and at the most (likely) involved in whatever is going on.

 

Being that Loren was a mercenary, who should have experience with shady employers, you’d think that he would be able to spot a suspicious person. He could at least keep his guard up with the person who just happens to know so much.

 

He was just one of the "grunts" in the mercenary group, he wasn't one of the people that dealt with clients. He knows enough to do a simple check of the job requirements, but his association (servitude) with a certain demon, shows that he doesn't know when someone might be trying to use him.

 

But the first volume shows that he at least has a sense of caution. He was always checking his environment, always thought rationally and always commented (in his head) when someone said something. He even noticed Lapis’ way of talking changed while running for his life from goblins, something that not even Lapis noticed. Even if he was just a grunt and never dealt with clients, he seems smart enough to at least be suspicious of Shutel, even if it’s just a little bit, just like Lapis is. He doesn’t have to openly express how he feels but he could at least keep his guard up with her.

 

Yeah, but not noticing that Lapis is ripping him off, to keep him as a slave, shows that he lacks judgement when it comes to people. That other group was just raising that many red flags, when it came to their shoddy work, that even he noticed they were no good to hang around.

 

Lapis has more reason to tie him down with debt to her

Volume 6 & the new volume 7 have a new blonde girl. Who and what is she? Whats her role in the story? Is she new girl for Loren?

 

Just to point out that i havent read any chapter yet other than the description/summary.

Can someone give me some a quick summary for how this novel runs? I can accept spoilers. This just peaked my interest a bit. Its too bothersome to start reading if ill drop this due to some boorish antics.

 

Are you stupid do you think he can ever get away from lapis who got him tied neck deep in debt. My assumption is that she is either a companion for a new job or an opponent. Like how it's been done in previous volume covers.

 

Just like the title and the description it's the story of a mercenary barely surviving a battle and also getting separated from his crew and ending up broke with being an adventurer his only legal way to get money and one question after another just scraping his ass through he goes through absurd setting repeatedly whether it be stumbling on an old nightmarish ancient goblin reproduction facility or some evil mage's plot to destroy the world etc.

Makes you wonder how the little shit didn't explode or get violently torn apart yet maybe we will see his worthless end soon.

 

Because he literally has plot armor as an ability and he’s a potential hero, I don’t think that’s going to happen. I would find it funny if every party that Loren and Lapis has to team up with has harems or wants to establish one.

 

Well let's see if he survives or not.
Also this would be the second harem party I believe.
