Since when was he going to learn about the sword? Wasn't the whole point to learn the basics of stealth, lock picking and ward breaking? If he wants to add a weapon on top of that, then why not daggers? He at least owns one of them, and he can throw it if he needs to, carry multiples, and readily conceal them. A sword of any kind just doesn't match his fighting style at all.

That aside, I wonder why he'll decide to go get that antidote, or if he'll just find it by accident while doing something else.

    Plot armor.:ROFLMAO:

They may not offer dagger, and besides, it would be best to learn short sword. Daggers have a reach issue, and are limited in their damage. Against humans is fine, but if Hikaru hunts monsters, a short sword makes more sense. Unless you knew Hikaru’s true abilities, which he is TRYING to hide.:p

Obviously that obnoxious git of a professor is teaching short sword.

They mention earlier that weapons fall under broad categories. I think halbreds for instance are considered long spears. If so, short swords are gonna ubrella over daggers.
On that note, if he wants to be a theif or an assassin he needs are reliable long distance attack (throwing) and a incredibly strong strike. I see him increasing strength and short sword in the future for that purpose.

Yes! Agreed. Though his girlfriend might not like over muscled guys...:p I’m pretty sure that raising strength bulks you up.o_O

But as I mentioned in a previous post, his physique might need to be heavily reinforced to withstand the recoil of his godly throws.

To be honest, lately our little Hikaru feels more and more like an entitled little young master drunk in his own power.

At the same time, my desire to see a few chapters of public and (imo) well deserved public humiliation/ridicule for that young master Hikaru is increasing.

I don't know why, but even Lavia really feels bland lately... more like a soulless companion/pet than a real person.

It's 3 points, the number right below age and soul level is the number of allocatable points available. Also, keep in mind, it's 1 point to unlock the soul board, 1 point to unlock proficiency, and 1 point to unlock magic. So, that's where those 3 points are going. Only one of those three points are doing anything at all for him.

Also, it's in magic, which only has the effect of expanding his mana pool. He doesn't actually have proficiency in any kind of spell casting. This means those 3 points are doing absolutely nothing to increase his combat ability.

The author has fallen in love with his characters.

This particular trap is insidious...you have to love the characters you create, or else why bother writing, and you can’t become sadistic, tormenting your characters, (‘cause that’s just sick, man) but your writing suffers if you fall in love with them, so they can do no wrong in your eyes. (or you’ve discovered you’re actually a wuxia author:blobscream::blobdizzy::ROFLMAO:)

Well, in my opinion maybe story, the novel's message, and immersion should come first... while the characters are more a device to convey the message.

Right now it feels like this novel is mostly talking about arrogance, isolation and superiority complex brought about by obtaining some unusual power through sheer luck.

Oh man, characterization is one of the things that suffer the most from MTL. Now that I've seen League in proper English, this guy's great. It feels like a completely high-functioning autistic person using his own social disability heavily to his advantage in the most outrageous ways imaginable. He is actually able to engage in overbearing negotiation tactics by playing up his own lack of social graces! It's fantastic!!

What is the point in an international academy if the students aren't supposed to learn from teachers from other nations?

Well, personally with his funds, I would've just gone and hired that private pro adventurer tutor instead of bothering with some academy in the first place.

Forming social bonds with students of other nations. Even with colleges in the real world, the social aspect is possibly more important than the knowledge you can learn from a lot of colleges.

The politics chapter was important, it illustrated 2 things. For one, earlier we learned that politically the alliance is divided but that also extends into personal relations - the alliance is pretty much a sham on a social and political front. The 2nd, introduced us to the various powers who are a competition with each other which may draw at future plot points.
Also note, a few chapters ago the Translator explicitly mentioned 2 things: weakest arc, approx 40 chapters.
