There is one thing that is quite unique in Korean novels, or at least the modern fantasy genre, and that would be their views on other races; especially the Chinese. Depicted as something quite vile and treacherous, they make them out as people who are willing to abandon their faith, people, god, and country for the chance of living just a little more.

It's not just the Chinese though, every other race or color are depicted in a style that makes them seem quite "cheap" in comparison to all the other cast of Korean characters.

The Japanese depict others in a comical manner, Koreans try and push a boundary advance the plot, and the Chinese...well they just place themselves above everyone else and say that they are at the top; while also pushing those other races down 300 levels in terms of worth.

Korean novels actually have plot to them, well at least until the end, sometimes it just gets weird.
