Discussion things you hate in ch/kr/jp novels

I think we all have a couple things that we hate that make Asian novels Asian novels.
now i read mostly CH and KR novels so i don't have that much knowledge on JP novels but I would love to know

things i hate in novels:
one of my most hated points is definitely the over the top use of "face" or make "face" as a reason to provoke or kill someone. most often in combination with status like my dad is the clan leader you don't wanna provoke me sh!t.

second thing is how some novels view the world:
a lot of game novels have this where someone is in a game and makes millions upon millions where other guild don't even think of any method or only have money the got from a backer
but also a modern day story where killing(in general) or raping females are like the most normal things in the world .

i don't hate this in cultivation novels since it a different world but if you try to make this modern day world i find it way to over the top.

and last is something almost all action novels have is underestimation.
the protagonist never underestimate anyone but the enemy always when hes near dead like "*stupid face* how can this be!!??? " like are u a idiot...

well those are my most hated points but here i am still reading the sh!t out of them lol

CN/JP: Raping is not only okay, it is praised and lavished because MC, why not?
CN loves to drag their work, they type unneccesarily long sentences for that extra word count to money model and it doesn't work for most of then.

KR: So far I have only read 1 novel that completed, and the ending is horrible. This brings to mind of how KR dramas always start off good and has a good plot but ends with a shitty ending that ruins your entire experience.

 

The because I got some sort of lust potion, blood, charm in me there is a need for some odd grey area rape, but it's ok because they become lovers?

 

Young Masters even in the modern world.
They would be despised by everyone if their actions came to light, in novels they don't even try to hide their shamelessness.

Fillers everywhere, some novels can easily be completed in half of their chapters but the author loves to add useless fillers. (RITF, OEM, TTNH, cough.)

For JP... the MC and Harem, dense asfck.

 

Mainly potential good novels that has harem...I read quite a few(not knowing they were harem) and they ruined such good stories for me.

 

Everything. Just everything... Yes you got that right, I hate everything about anything.

(tbh there's just too many things to dislike to feel like it's worth my time to list them all.)

 

Chinese Novels: Girls from MC harems disappear for hundred of chapters, its like the author had no idea what to do with them so he just ignores their existence.

JP Novels: Dense, naive protagonist sparing enemy's life, knowing clearly they'll come after him again in the future. Like why?

KR novels: Never really read much of them, except Everybody else is a returnee and Dungeon Defense. KR novels are pretty good imo

 

In JP I hate isekai mc too much op and harem full of loli
In cn I hate culti with stupid mc goes for revenge cause wife broke marriage pact or same shit
Kr most I have read they were good.

 

well i think kr are in general more in align with my opinion but still some things i hate like LMS the over the top money grubber style for way to long into the novel cant even buy a single present for his gf.

 

Harem not done right...... Give me at least the same tease and awkward situation like Bokutachi wa Benkyou ga Dekinai or Gotoubun no Hanayome!

 

JP: protagonist archetype
KR: every novel turns into grinding mmo sooner or later
CN: qidian, focus on pill concocting in some novels (unless they do it right)

 

JP: chuunibyou... Just the whole concept of it is too cringe for me to continue reading (even when its just being played for laughs).
Chinese: When the protagonist is not only the one character that actually gets fleshed out, but EVERY SINGLE OTHER person (regardless of age/experience/cultivation) is a gibbering idiot.
KR: The endings....

 

All of them : Showing me that there is dumb humans in one click and one scroll away

 

I don't like harems not because of today's morals or how it just demotes woman it that from every novel that has a harem just generally irritates me that how impossible they are
I hate how easily female characters Fall in love with the mc ,even worse than those are dense mcs
I'm also starting to hate mc who can't just keep his nose out of other people's business

When it's so obvious that "author" is not making a story but is writing his dream

 

JP mc being white knights , CN young masters. RPG genre/dungeon novels altogether

 

JP- Blackhole-dense MC
CN- No brain cultivator.
KR- Grinding money.
