Yes, I know there's a link to reporting problematic releases, but there's no button at all on NU's main page. I have to comb through the forum to find the link to report releases. If there is a report button on NU, it's certainly not obvious enough that I can see it. At the top of the page are Latest Topics, my account buttons and under it are the releases. On the right side are Novelupdates, Forum, Group News, Novels Listing, Random Novel, Series Finder, Series Ranking, Latest Series, User Tools, Reading List, Release Filtering and Series Filtering. Scrolling to the bottom, there are Privacy Policy, Terms of Service and Contact Us. Contact Us does not lead to reporting releases. Similarly, there is also no report button in Series page. There is a link to report comments, but no link to report page defacing or problematic releases, such as releases that are behind paywalls. I don't think it's hard to program. If you make a general report button, people can click on it and send report quickly instead of looking for the report link in the forum. Not everyone likes spending time in the forum. If you make a series specific report button and you think it's too troublesome, you can just make a general report form but use CSS to include where the report button was clicked so that you know which series is the problem. Of course, I don't know how NU was programmed, other than that it was made using Wordpress Version 4.9.2. Therefore, I'm leaving it entirely to @Tony to decide on the implementation of the feature. Thanks. p/s: Oh wait, did I post this in the wrong section? Sorry lol
Yes, but it's not intuitive. How many users actually open their NU profiles? I certainly don't. There's nothing there to see. Putting it on the main page but requires the person to log in to see the button is better. Similarly, putting the button in the series page itself is better than having to open your profile, go to another page, then go back to that page to get the link, then go back to the report page to make the report. It is several magnitudes more troublesome. Reporting should be able to be done quickly instead of going back and forth.
tbh I wanna see report problem on front page~ after log in on NU ====================================================== Nu -------report problem--------------user name---- mail- notif- search ====================================================== hey I'm lazy bum too lazy to even check profile
But that's how we bait people to chat at NUF..... jkjk (not really) but having the Report button at the User Profile has a con too, and that is discouraging newbies from abusing them without first checking the features and options available for them on NU. Not saying that everyone is like this, but there are bound to be those who would report "how do I change my profile picture" then 5minutes after that before any of us could try and reach out to him, there's gonna be another report "nvm, I found out how". Tl;Dr People who seriously wants to submit a report, would have searched out how to do so. Therefore, I can understand why the Report button being where it is.
I disagree about making reporting harder just because of this reason. If the report button is placed in the series page, labelled "Report Series", then I'm sure even the most daft kids would not abuse it. I mean, how many people have abused the "Report Comments" button in NU's Series page to ask about how to change his profile picture? For example: https://www.novelupdates.com/series...t-to-hello-work-i-got-taken-to-another-world/ volume 6 chapter 7 (page has no translation, only telling readers that it's uploaded on patreon as of this moment) is still not being reported even after many hours. This proves that it's way too troublesome and nobody bothers to report it. Add to the fact that he's been doing this all the time, so the current system is simply too troublesome it gets tiring after the average person has to do it several times. Yes, I know I can just report it. But I'm making a point, you see.
I'm not used to seeing you NOT refer to yourself in 3rd person.... This is really uncomfortable..... it doesn't feel or seem right.....
I'm neutral on this thing, but I figure I should provide a pic for anyone that still doesn't know how to make the NU reports:
I don't have the information to answer that, even if I have it I can't give that detail out....but there are people who asked them, yes. Hopefully, it'll be reduced after the alert function is implemented... ahaha...haha..ha.. I know, which is why I'm not outright denying this feature request's points. However, I also need to point out why they are where they are right now, as explained in my previous post.
