I make this thread after I just finished rewatching Gakusen Toshi Asterisk (damn, I just realized that this novel is entertainingly complex eventhough it is adopting the standard school battle harem premise) So yeah, I need recommendation on novel in which the tournament doesn't contain mainly tournament in 1vs1 format, I'm tired enough of reading about MC soloing his ass off in a tournament. I prefer a format larger than 3vs3 and below 7vs7 (it will be a brawl if the number is bigger than this, but a pair / duet is also not a problem. I welcome JP, CN or KR (did KR even write about teamwork?) For example : - Gakusen Toshi Asterisk (1vs1, 2vs2 and 5vs5 format) - Seirei Tsukai no Blade Dance (5vs5 format) - Douluo Dalu series (7vs7 format) Maybe there are some that I forgot.... Honestly, I really want to read about a couple fighting their way in a tournament (Rakudai Kishi sadly didn't adopt 2vs2 format)
WTF, 25 volumes? Anyway thanks ! I vaguely remember that I need to watch this anime but never got the courage/desire to watch it
Shen Yin Wang Zou (though it seems to have stopped updating when it’s been nearly translated fully) Martial Arts Master (it’s 1vs1 but from a team of 3- slow start but excellent story) Can’t think of anything else atm..
The King's Avatar the Douluo Dalus Highschool DxD The Charm of Soul Pets (multiple soul pets at a time)
Overgeared (everything from one on one to full out wars, in turnements teambattles usualy involves diffrent goals than just fighting and might have multiple teams fighting each other) EDIT: know this is mentioned: The Charm of Soul Pets (summoned monsters fight with the summoner as a team, so fights are technicly 2v2 even if it's only two monsters fighting)
Will Wight's Cradle series. Western take on Xianxia/Xuanhuan. Last and only tournament in it so far is everyone having to qualify through a series of simultaneous tests where the slowest, worst and failures drop out, followed by teams fighting for the right to go further and after teams are heavily emptied only then is there some 1 on 1, but the matchups were purposefully kept false so one can face even a teammate in the last few rounds due to the main judges arrangements.
