    Just curious,

The chinese authors are quite nationalistic, so are there any novel that use the trade war in real world as plot of their novel?

Probably but seriously the trade war had to happen as long as a new deal gets into place it'll be better for both countries.

It wouldn't be a main facet of the plot I don't think unless the story is modern and mainly about economics...

And here I was thinking this thread would be about the American government putting Tariffs on web novels.
They are a threat to the American publishing industry! More efficiently updated, you don't have to wait seven years for the next novel, being updated daily! This will drive American authors out of work! It is their right to sit for seven years on a novel's sequel! Its the American Way. We need to protect this bastion of Americanness and place tariffs on web novels from China.

Yes, I may be a little annoyed at how long it takes for some regular novels to get their sequels.

Still better than 5% content and 95% face smacking + word padding tho

It's not as if some novels already feature something like it, but not to the same degree.

But changing entirely to the 'new' trade war, means either editing an old novel or writing a new, and getting to that stage in a novel where the MC can be affected by a trade war will take a decent amount of chapters atleast.

The US government should put a 90% tariff on all Chinese goods until Chinese web novel authors stop padding their novels. Or have the tariff based % wise on how much padding the average novel has.

first author needs a brain for writing something about trade wars because it's a complicated thing and they don't have one,
Second they're not quite nationalist but they are a blind nationalist for example the author of (my CEO wife) I don't remember the name but that person disrespecting country's and cultures in each chapter
I know that the concept of respecting others doesn't exist in China but this is going way too far
Like I said before living like a frog in the well

The reason the PRC doesn’t honor Intellectual Property of other nations is because there’s no reason to. The PRC is not worried about say the US illegally stealing PRC IPs because they’re not losing significant amount of Copyright and patent revenue.

But if readers of PRC novels start stealing PRC copyrights, hmmm...

This may the the way to force the PRC to honor US intellectual property....:hmm::hmm::hmm:

    Now that you mention it,

why do we care at all about china's copyright claims when they obviously don't care about ours?

Well to be fair, there are some (hard to find) novel in which the storyline was arranged brilliantly and the economy explained very well.

Since im not from any of those country, i would love to read about the trade war from chinese perspective
