Discussion Tragedy: when the author erases your favourite novel's RAWS

I think it is because they are all background characters which can be thrown away at a heartbeat... like villager A, but with an actual name.

 

Reminds me of how I read a story on royal road and the author decided to delete it and restart it with a completely different setting and genre

 

But isn't it sad that a character death made me stop reading, but I can't remember her name properly?

I never though about saving it because I had no intention to translate it (It would be a bit suicidal because some of the chapters had more than 20K words)......., but maybe I'll do next time with other novels I'm reading.

So 1 of those rare novels where fans like the WN than the LN, because the Author writing was more free in the WN than the LN I see....

the last few chapters got edited out, the author trying to write a different version or something and it happened to me in the middle of a fap.

 

I remember this issue being mentioned by a few translators in the past but for me I had never faced this problem before. This is mainly because I read light novels for the most part and rarely read web novels.

 

In that case you could suffer a different tragedy, a canceled LN. I hope you'll be safe of those

 

Yen press tragedy is scarier

 

Thus far, that had never happened to me before. However, I faced an even worse tragedy when light novels I was reading got licensed by Yen Press in the past.

I have to agree with you on your point. The Yen Press tragedy is way scarier and overall worse in my opinion. I experienced two unfortunate cases where a light novel I was reading got licensed by Yen Press causing the fan translatons for those two light novels to stop. One of the light novels, Psycome, had the translations of its fifth and sixth volumes delayed for years as a result. Had it not been licensed by Yen Press, the fan translations for the whole series would had been completed almost 3 years ago since the fan translations stopped at the prologue of its fifth volume. The other case was with Re:Zero which was not as bad as with the case of Psycome since its fan translations had only reached the third chapter of its first volume. Regardless, I believe that had the fan translations of Re:Zero continued, it would have progressed further than the latest translated volume of Yen Press.
