Yes! You folks get it. The main love interest in this book should be food, and the villains are everyone getting in the way of talking about food. The quality of the book depends on what the subject is at the time, and it's at its very best when that subject is food.

 

That's actually pretty profound man. I was enjoying the food loving tsundere princess and the food talk but author-san had to go and spoil it with psycho yandere XBJ and clueless spying prince.

 

The prince didn't know everything and just confused with he changdi behavior too. Poor him being used by he changdi...

 

Hence clueless. If he'd bothered to ask her, in an appropriate manner and situation considering their reputation and standings, he wouldnt be so easily fooled by misunderstandings or used by a supposedly good friend.

He... Changdi...? Nope, doesn't ring a bell. Was there a character with that name? I mean, Chu Lian's husband obviously had a name before he lost any and all relevance, but was it really He Changdi? Could'a sworn it was closer to something like "Loser McAngstFace"...

 

ugh, cliffhanger, gonna stack this for awhile...

what's with the eye color? ill omen again? really, Chinese novel? again? o.o rip chu lian's luck is very bad orz

 

likely, blue eyes mean bad omen for ancient chinese, tho green's also somewhat similar? these eyes usually exist cuz mix marriage wit people from ughur to far western area, caucasian, persian, etc. cuz mesoph was regin in there.
the other thing is an illness of albinoism, tho usually the other body part also became white(pale in colors) too.

 

Hahaha. My official list, sorted from best to weakest, of what makes the book good are:

1. Food. This is for obvious reasons, but one cool reason that may be less obvious is that while other characters fawn over Chu Lian's food, she herself is a lot more blase about it. She does end up eating things that she really likes, and her reaction is way different than usual.

2. Shenanigans. This would be all of the non-Food related tomfoolery goings on. It's some pretty great stuff.

3. Romance. I honestly prefer the dumbass He Changdi over the standard male love interest in these kinds of stories. Too bad there was no way that he could stay that way.

4. Antagonists. The weakest part of the story. Outside of a couple of characters, I just don't find their motivations very convincing. They try to do evil things to Chu Lian for completely trivial reasons and take big risks doing so. Also, if anyone is out there writing their own novel, please don't make a 10 year-old into one of the villains.

 

i have to say I love her kind of Tsundere.

Not overly annoying kind and tough kind.
And capable of being playful.

 

I tried to stack the updates up for a month but ended up reading it all in one hour or less.
The fruits of a month of labour gone just like that.
Stuck in a cliffhanger again...

If I thought this ship had a chance, I'd definitely send it off into battle. But I doubt this will turn into GL, so I'll keep it safe in port instead.
