I don't see Kuahel attracted to Maxi sexually. Rather he was just interested and curious, because she is Riftan Calypse's wife. Riftan Calypse, one of the greatest knight on the continent, who didn't blink twice in front of a dragon; but so obsessive, protective and unpredictable when it came to his wife. Now what kind of woman that made Riftan Calypse behaved like that? And also, that wife of Riftan Calypse wasn't just a noble woman, but a great wizard. I think it is not an exaggeration to say that after the war in Book 2, Maxi has become one of the archmages. After Maxi saved Ethylene Castle, the knights across the continent respected and curtious towards her. Kuahel Leon must felt like that too. It's just he didn't show it. The WT wizards was under the Holy Knights protection during the war. The Holy Knights seek help from the WT in the first place, so it is understandable that they escort Maxi and the others. But why Kuahel Leon himself? I think because Maxi almost died twice during the investigation, and Kuahel Leon wanted to prevent that. Because he knows if anything ever happened to Maxi again, he needs to answer to Riftan. His subordinates should be trusted enough for the job, but maybe his mind will be at ease if he was there himself? Chapter 106 Book 2: Riftan took Maxi by her shoulder. Maxi heard Sejour was laughing, and Maxi widened her eyes when he saw Sejour bending his arm on Kuahel's shoulder. No one is looking at her, only Riftan. Don't worry
So I finished reading the novel for the 5th time and I feel empty like everytime I finish it. Anyone have other novels worth reading beside Lucia cuz i’ve read that and left with anger issues
Agreed with you I I'm willing to cry as much as anything, no matter how much,,, I'm willing even though I have to feel like riding a rollercoaster, the important thing is a happy ending.. I read some of the chats above, To unlock all the secrets of Roem at least the author needs a book up to 3/4
Honestly, I haven't caught up to these parts of the LN yet, but I do see it throughout the book. Riftan trying to keep her "locked up" is the same thing her father did. I get Riftan has a trauma but trying to keep Maxi in the castle would lead to that scenario too. Riftan showed Maxi how to love and have warmth and feelings for another person. Her leaving (from what I am reading here) might be for the best because of his obsessiveness. A person's obsessiveness can limit opportunities for growth and confidence. I do like how Maxi took the first step to leave. Home girl needs it because if she doesn't love herself and head down that path, she will never see herself for who she is. She also suffered a miscarriage, but still decided to move on. If that ain't strength, idk what that is. (May edit as I read on!) I am so in love with all the discussions here! Also anyone know where I can read all the answers to the FAQ on p. 1? TT___TT
Wow I have the same thoughts as you, Maxi may feel that what riftan did is the same as what his father did, both were "imprisoned" but in a different way. But, seriously, if I had fought with my husband as much as Riftan and Maxi, we would have ended up divorced, Hahahahaha,,, Maybe it's because of different cultures, if I want to be angry, I want to be angry like Maxi, she screams and expresses her feelings, so she doesn't keep those feelings to herself like before. But if I could choose, I would choose to communicate well without having to yell at each other.

Guys, someone posted about a website that contains a short story about when Max was unconscious after she broke the wall of etylene castle. I found the comment a while ago here, but I'd have to go back hundreds of pages to find it (I will go back to find it once I have time and quote the original comment here) It's in Korean, so we'll have to use translating machine to read it. But there are 26 short stories about other things that's going on beside the original story. At first I thought it was a series of fan fiction until l realised that, under the title, the description said, "A collection of 2nd soft shorts by Kim Su-Ji" Again, it was translated by google chrome, so I'm not so sure if that description means it was short stories written by Kim Su-Ji herself or if it was short stories based on Kim Su-Ji's original story written by someone else... I really need to know because oh my God there are sooooo many major spoiler of a lot of unanswered questions in the original story, which was only written on Maxi's and Riftan's pov, (and two chapters from both Gabel and Hebaron's pov) There are two stories there about the real reason Ruth left the world tower (and it's soooo unexpected and heartbreaking! hint: fire and wind ), two stories from Rosetta's pov, three stories about Sejour Aren's lover, and two stories about a knight named Wulfric which I've never heard of from spoilers I found in this forum. He was a knight from a time before event in Under the Oak Tree happened, decsribed as a knight from the west who hide in a forest in the southern part of the continent, and he's romantically involved with a woman from the south. I suspect that it was story about riftan's biological parents but it was stil unclear... There are some stories that's really sweet, but some are trully heart breaking that my heart ache for unbelieveably ridiculous reasons... The last posted story was about when Max got pregnant (finally!) but it ended there, so we don't know if they had a boy or a girl (or both!) At first, when I read it, I was like, oh, another sweet fan fiction about when Max finally pregnant, how nice... But after I read the description above, I was like, oh waaaaaiiiiit....! Then I read more of the available contents and I strongly feel that these stories has Kim Su-Ji's way of story telling in it. I mean, I can't confirm the language she used from the original story and the ones in this website, because I only read the raw mtl, but I can feel that these stories has the same soul with the original UOT. Gosh, I wish I can explain it better, but what I am trying to say was, when I read this, it feels like it was written by her, not like when I read fan fiction from other people. Sometimes the fanfics I found is soooo good that it looks like it was written by the original author, but I can still see that it was written by someone else, either by the way it was written or some inconsistencies in the character's personality or the storyline. I really wish I can explain better but English is not my first language, I hope someone can understand me, lol! Please, if anyone who speak Korean or can understand Korean, can you please confirm if what's in this website was written by Kim Su-Ji herself or if it's a collection of fan fiction written by someone else... You can find all the answers you've been dying to know @Arifiana there are no short stories written by Kim Suji. She only wrote OAK Book 1, OAK Book 2, Riftan's POV and Gabel's POV side story. That's it! Postype is a website famous for fanfiction, the user Anatol Tailor that posted the short stories in the postype is definitely our go-to-user to quench the thirst for Under The Oak Tree But it wasn't written by the real author. The writing style are good, but very different from Kim Suji. I'm sorry to disappoint you hehe. I hope this can clear your confusion. Cheers to the one and only, Kim Suji.
