Just do what's comfortable for you. You always choose the best part to spoil(be it the fluff or the sad ones) plus you always add these detailed side notes to further explain things. I hope you dont feel any pressure and enjoy it as much as we do.

Maxi tried to get better at talking after the incident with Uslin, where he insulted her of stuttering and Riftan beat Uslin up for that. Maxi didn't want for Riftan to always beat someone up, when they insult her for her stuttering, so she asked Ruth for help. Ruth can't help her with magic, but told her, she should try talking slowly and try reciting simple poems (as a child she only recited hard to read poems) and she tries and it works after some time. She doesn't stutter, but she is speaking slowly and she is worried that people might get annoyed with this, but the people around her aren't, so its ok. She only stutters when she is embarrassed or nervous. When she got back to her fathers estate, her stuttering returned and she got bad at talking again, because she had no one to talk with, but got better when she got home to Anatol. After the three years, where Maxi was learning magic in the world tower, she got even more better at talking, to the point that she can speak without stuttering and not slowly. She only stutters when she is really embarrassed or nervous, but still she got better and better at talking over time.

Also, what's her exact reason for leaving? did her father do something after what riftan did?

After Riftan beat the duke up, Riftan officially declared war on the duke. The king didn't want this dispute in his country, so he sent Agnes to him, to talk to him, but Riftan still wanted to go to war. Only Rossetta, who was also there to talk with him, could stop him, because Riftan still owes her something for letting him into the place where Maxi was being held. But after all this Maxi's father still wanted to try something, so that he can get revenge on Riftan and so he talked with his noble friends to get them on his side and to start a petition or something so that they can take Riftans title away and let him get executed. The king didn't want the problem to get bigger, so he made his way to another nobles estate, which is near anatol, to talk with Riftan and the duke together, so that they can stop this problem. After some talk for 2-3 days, they still didn't had a conclusion and the duke still wanted Riftans head. Riftan planned to leave Anatol with maxi, if the negotiations didn't work and start a new life in Lebadon. If he did that, then he would lose Anatol and the Remdragon knights would be split into two, because some of them can't come with them to Lebadon. Maxi didn't want that and Agnes came up to her to talk with her, where she told her, that if maxi said she is part of the world tower and that she signed up for it, before she made her way into the war, then she will be under the protection of the world tower. That means, that if the duke continues this, then the world tower will start their investigation, because he hurt one of their wizards and they sure will find something and when its known that the duke hurt a wizard, then he will lose all wizard he has and no wizard will come to his side ever again and that would be a big loss. In the end the duke accepted and Maxis needed to go to the world tower, so that Riftan doesn't lose everything.

It's not the full chapter and I started at the moment Riftan came back from work while it rained. Also, you will see in this chapter how Maxi is talking slowly to avoid stuttering, but as she gets embarrassed, she starts stuttering again.

Riftan returned soaked with rainwater. His robes were drooping like seaweed, revealing the outline of his armor inside, and his shoes were all covered with mud. Max got out of bed and covered his head with a towel. The cheeks wet with rainwater were icy cold.

He closed the door with his back as if not to dirty the rug she had laid on the floor, and took off his shoes and wet robes in front of him and threw them into the basket. She asked, with a slight surprise.

"Is it... is it going to rain that much?"

"I don't think it's going to pour like a torrent, but it's a problem because the ground is weakened by the monsters. Plus, in the next couple of months, the summer rainy season will begin, so you'd better be prepared in advance."

In a seemingly irritating tone, Max opened her mouth blankly. Indeed, it seemed to be recognizable only if everything had been said. She cried out in tears and misery.

"He, there's blood... Hmm, it's flowing!"

The color faded from Riftan's face. Mac opened her eyes wide at the sight of his sun-tanned smooth face turning white like a blank sheet. He scanned every nook and cranny of her body with a startling nervousness.

“Blood is flowing… where? How did you get hurt? Show me. You're going to have to treat it right away!"

Max was agitated with fear that he would really check where the blood was flowing. But Riftan seemed more frightened than she was. Max desperately dissuaded Riftan, who was trying to strip her of her clothes and identify where the problem occurred.

"Oh, no! All, all, all, all right! I'm not hurt!"

"You said you were bleeding!"

Oh my god. He really seemed to have no idea what a woman had to go through regularly. Max couldn't tell whether to burst into laughter or scream. First, I decided to calm him down and said as calmly as I could.

"This, all of this world... When woman are old enough to get married... Gyu, you bleed regularly. It's very... very natural. Yu, nanny says... I have grown enough to have children....It's proof."

"Are you sure? You're not really sick or hurt, are you?

Max nodded firmly. Riftan stared at her face with a suspicious glance and then asked while frowning.

"And where the hell are you bleeding from?"

She turned red like a red beet. I never dreamed I'd be in such an embarrassing situation. Do I really have to tell you everything about my sins?

After a long pause, Max whispered in his ear, even though there was no one else in the room. I don't know how many more times I'll be going through this. It would be better to explain properly so that we don't get into such an embarrassing situation anymore.

"That's... is that true?"

Upon hearing her explanation, Riftan looked down at her with his eyes wide open as if he could not believe it. His complexion was still pale.

"Are you sure? It's... it's normal for blood to flow from there?"

"Well, it's perfectly normal! It's what all women go through."

"This must have happened before. Why didn't you tell me earlier?"

"Da, of course... I thought you knew, you knew it. Usually... I heard there's no need to explain this. And the nanny also... if I tell you... Oh, she said you' d know..”

Surprisingly, his cheeks turned a little red. Riftan made excuses in a loud voice, as if to justify his ignorance.

"Maxi, I grew up in a mercenary squad full of men. After I became a knight, I spent my whole life going on expeditions.
What the hell do I know about women? All I know is that a woman has a heart, and I knows that she's thinking and that she can have a baby!”

Max frowned doubtfully. He was talking as if he had never had an intimate lover to teach him about women.

Her meeting eyes swept through his masculine face, intense black eyes and sculptural figure, each with a perfect balance of symmetry. It was too beautiful to claim ignorance of women.

Even if Riftan himself wasn't an active seducer, he wouldn't have been left alone. On the day of the festival, Max recalled the impudent women who were flirting with him. It was unlikely that a man with a vigorous desire like Riftan would have been able to resist such an active temptation. She stared at him with sharp jealousy.

The answer to this has already been summarized earlier in the thread. Everyone should read back in the thread thoroughly before asking questions as a lot of stuff has been revealed already. I feel you on the age verification thing! I've heard it's possible if you provide a picture of your ID and they'll accept it even if it's a foreign one but I haven't been brave enough to try it out myself.

I bought the chapters from ridi and skipped a lot so I don't know most of the details just the general story line and events I deem as major. I also don't know Korean so my interpretation could be wrong cuz MTL. here goes spoilers.

Im on chapter 170 ish so this is far far far down the line

The reason why the knights dislike Max and are hostile to her in the beginning because Duke married her to him so the duke could make Riftan go fight the dragon in his place. Many knights would have died and came close to death if it weren't for Riftan who always fought in the front line. They love and respect Riftan very much but not the cowardly duke. This could be wrong but it is my understanding based on what one of the knights said later.

The major event of the story is the war with the trolls. Riftan and his army has to go to defend the border. Max fought tooth and nails to come alone despite Riftan's objections. Finally he allowed her to come along because they needed a magician who could heal.
skip skip skip most of the details of the trip....
In one of the major battle/turning point of the novel is when Max used up all her mana to create barriers to trap many of the trolls who would have destroyed the city they were in. During the battle she got super injured. Dislocated shoulder, broken ribs, mana exhaustion, blood lost, and..... she miscarried the baby she didn't know she had... Riftan found out about it but told every one to shut their mouths because it would have caused Max to be too shocked and that would not have helped given her condition. He was heartbroken so he sent her away to a safe place (the imperial palace with princess Agnes)
Max didn't know she had a miscarriage until she met her father much later after she arrived at the palace to recoup/recover. He wanted to drag her back to the Duke's estate so that she cant bring shame to his name. He told her that the king was making fun of him and question Rosetta's fertility (Max's half sister). He told her that it is best to be divorced from Riftan so he could marry the princess since the king wants that. Max was super shocked to hear that she lost her baby and ran out of the room she was in with her dad. The knights escorting her ran out from another room to her. She asked them and they confirmed that miscarriage was one of the things that happed to her and they were told to keep it a secret by Riftan. Thee duke came out and told them that he would be taking her back to Duke's castle because it is better for her to be with family. She followed along due to shock.

Of course she was abused at the duke's castle... Riftan finally came to Croix's castle but the duke wouldn't let them meet. Max tried to sneak out so she would see Riftan from afar but was caught by the guards. The duke was livid with her so he beat the shit out of her. He told her to take her dress off and started whipping her. She closed her eyes and crouched down in pain but the pain suddenly stopped coming. She slowly looked up and saw Riftan holding the duke's arm. He made a fuss about Riftan stress passing into his castle and it is a felony. He tried to justify his action by saying that it is his way of discipling his kid. He said that there is a healer so there wouldn't be any traces of the wound anyway. Riftan remained quiet and didn't say a word. The duke told Riftan to follow him so they could talk about his crime. Riftan followed him but soon he grabbed a chair and swung it hard at the duke who then flew like a rag doll. Riftan proceeded to beating the shit out of the duke and would have killed him if his knights didn't come and stop him. The knights were able to enter the castle because rosetta drugged the guards and let them in. The rem dragon knight? (Riftan's knights) told Rosetta to call a healer before the duke dies. She just kinda stood there and looked down at the bloody duke. She told them to leave before the other guards come. Riftan took Max out of the castle and went to an inn.

I tried my best to translate their conversations.. I smoothed out Max's stuttering dialog to make it flows more smoothly.
In the room Riftan started to wipe the blood from Max's body.as he was doing that he asked her,

"How often did this happen?"-R
She tried to avoid his gaze and looked around bewildered like a corner animal.
"what, what … you mean?"-M
Riftan stayed silent so that it would force max to answer under pressure.
Max tried to make light of it and make excuses so she could keep her last remaining spec of pride (to her being abused is shameful)
"When did he do this to you?"-R
She tried to avoid it again but she just couldn't.
'what, what do you want to know? I...uh, how often do I get hit..uh, when it started.. you really want to know that?"-M
"So, if you are curious.. i'lll answer. It started since I was 8. I stutter... After it became clear. Twice a week I had to read poem in fron of my father. If I don't do well.. in that room..he punished me."-M
She said that desperately..
"today... I didn't intend to take you back to Anatol"-R
"I thought it would be better for you to stay here. If you want I would have let them keep you...I kept repeating to myself over and over again. Let's go back after checking your face once to make sure you are healthy and well. Just to see you once then I will go back. This time I wont force you to come with me like last time"-R
Riftan's voice is trembling and unstable at this point.
"I asked the duke to let me see you just once. The man said you didn't want to see my face. at that monetn, I felt like the world was collapsing underneath my feet" - R
"I, I have nerver…"- M
"That has never been the case, I never said I didn't want to see you"-M
"Then why did you follow the man? Why?"-R
"Wouldn't it have been better to wait for me? Rather than being with me..was it better to be with a person like that?"-R
"I thought you wouldn't want to see me again"-M
"We had a child... I lost it..."-M
"So... you thought I wouldn't want to see you?"-R
"what else could I think of when you told me to leave and said nothing else?"-M
"I didn't want to see you hurt anymore!" Yelled Riftan
Then he shouted
"Since I took you to Anatol, you have been in danger many times. When I saw your bloody figure. I thought it was all my fault! Why should you go through this? The thing that made you pregnant, that made you chase after such a scum! It's all me"
Max was speechless. Riftan continued
"I should have left you alone. I shouldn't have taken you to Anatol.. I knew from the beginning that you didn't want to marry me! If I really loved you I should have let you go when I came back the first time. I thought that it would have been better for you if I didn't come back alive. While you were unconscious.. I only thought that'
Riftan started to shake as he tried to suppress his tears but he kept going.
"If it wasn't for your sister, I would have left you here! Why didn't you tell me? What he has been doing to you... Why didn't you tell me? If you had told me he wouldn't be able to come near you. No matter what, I'd protect you. Why didn't you let me know? Why?"
Max started rambling about how shameful she is how she is nothing. She didn't want him to think of her as less she didn't want him to know how she has lived worse than an animal when he thought of her as a fragile honorable young lady of a duke's. She started crying when he hugged her.
"I... I've been thinking of you for so long"-R
"There wasn't a moment when I didn't think about you. Even when you didn't know that such a man exist in this world... You were the only one for me. The more I hope for you the more vain and miserable I became... but I couldn't stop"-R
"I thought many times, many times... Let's stop now. The more I think of you the more lonely I became. No what who I became, I was alone. Let's stop today.. Let stop chasing someone you cant reach.. I was always chasing you"-R
"I didn't think your heart was mine. Since meeting you, my heart hasn't been mine. so how could you be nothing?...How could you be nothing"

The conversation ended and they just hugged each other and cried in silent...

She thought she was nothing and that it was shameful to be abused.
He thought she is his world and someone he could never reach....
