As of now I recommend patience if u can't access Ridi or don't want to read it there, book 2 will be coming in August to Webnovel app and probably Amazon as well. Also here we post summaries etc of what is happening in book 2.
you're welcome and WELCOME to our small community! I think we all are counting days to the release of official translation of book 2
I think I managed to make it on RiDi. Do I understand right that the book in Korean is not finished yet? Yeah, defenitely. Looking forward with all passion in my heart))) This forum is wonderful place)))
hi, fellow non Ridi readers welcome to the club. webnovel reader like me is currently is sitting nicely on the waiting room for August to come . meanwhile, we can always read the spoiler here, or re read from book 1 again
in official translation it was yet another word, but what it means is a once in a lifetime oath to protect etc. a lady of knight's choosing. examples: Gabel offered his geth to the wife of Evan Triden (previous RDK commander), she took care of him when he was a child. Riftan wanted to offer his geth to Maxi.
golems are magical creatures, are they strictly monsters?- hard to say. In most fantasy stories golems are magical creatures created by mages to protect or to serve and only listen to their masters. In witcher (games) golems often guarded mage's labs or elven ruins. The description of golems from witcher's Bestiary I think very well explains what golems are : Golems are mindless matter brought to life by a spell. They obey their creator's orders without question. Their boundless strength, ability to withstand pain, endless patience and the fact that they neet not one jot of food or drink makes them the best servants or guards anyone could ask for. Once provoked, they will not tire of battle until they have either crushed their opponent or themselves crumbled to dust. "Once an absent-minded mage created a golem, animated it by casting Alzur's Thunder, and ordered his new servant to fetch water, before burying himself in his scholarly books. The golem kept carrying water day and night, without pause, and ultimately flooded not only the mage's house, but the whole city. As you can see, my young students of the Art, improper use of tools and a lack of elementary training may cause a tragedy. Anabelle Radfind, Lectures on Security and Hygiene in Magic" In other words if creator of golem wants to use it for evil deeds, yes then one might say golems are monsters.
another thing, I haven't gotten around to read Riftan's POV yet... but who does he end up offering his geth to? like can knights offer it when ever they want or just when they are knighted? how does it work exacly??
It was described in Riftan POV and during his first night with Maxi. when he was a mercenary, many women tried to seduce him. His body was hot at that time from being driven by his lust, but suddenly his body cooled again when he remembered how he carried his mother's corpse. If he has a child with a woman he doesn't marry, then the child and the woman can end up like him and his mother. He never even thought about marrying maxi, he thought that he might not be able to have sex for the rest of his life (riftan pov chapter 15) View attachment 71211
and how do gelems look like? I searched up on google and saw this I'm guessing they're made of rocks... I also looked up how they look on the witcher (games) and those are more scary looking you know when maxi does use her spell it will be soo cool! and like she will be the biggest badass
yeah golems are made of rock and/or clay. The second pic from witcher III game - those bands/ribbons around them are spells that brought them to life.
Wow! That's just great! Thanks a lot for your explanation Hello! Thanks a lot for welcoming! So glad to be with you all
I'm not sure Maxi will use the golem formula, we don't know if it requires a lot of work or not. Also it is understandable that golems are banned/taboo. Golems can beeasily used to abuse power etc. Also I find golems a bit pitful, created only to serve, blindly following orders. The are neither truly alive nor dead/undead, seem to be like monsters, but are they truly monsters? They remind me more of a robot. Typical monsters are either animal-like (hunting for food, being territorial e.g. wyvern, drakes etc.) or inteligent having their own civilization, motives.
