I think everyone that says Maxi was r...ed should read it and understand that Riftan was just in the same situation as her, only he had seen and been through so many horrible things in his life that he didn't realize it could be awful to her if it was wonderful for him. At first, he thought she was delaying it cause his appearance was not appealing to her and he wasn't a nobleman. Then, he thought he was helping her and pleasing her. Riftan firmly clenched his jaw, then slowly took a step back. He could hear Uslin urgently calling his name somewhere behind, but did not look back. As he climbed up the stairs, his heart began to pound violently and uncontrollably against his chest. Riftan repeated to himself over and over that the reason he was shaking was due to feeling pure humiliation. Still, he couldn't deny that he felt the urge to run away like a coward. He took a deep breath as he stopped in front of the room. “Get inside.” The soldier standing guard at the door impatiently urged him. Riftan glared at him with a stern look and pulled the doorknob. The light from the burning fireplace leaked through the cracks of the door. After swallowing dry saliva once more, Riftan pushed the door and entered the room. And then he saw Maximilian, sitting on a bed, covered with a golden veil. Riftan hurriedly closed the door behind his back. She was wearing an embarrassingly thin dress. Riftan, who was sliding his gaze through her voluptuous body exposed under the candlelight, was almost taken aback by the heat that emanated from her body . To his dismay, his member became as hard as stone. He distorted his face with self loathing. Even then, he couldn't take his eyes off her. He didn't want to see her trembling like a person who had been sentenced to death , and it was terrible for him to act so numb at such a situation. He just wanted to put an end to all of this. “N-now, wait a second…!” As the dress went down to the waist, she covered her chest with both hands. Riftan stared at her. “Remove your hands.” “Why, why, oh, my clothes…” Seeing her confused look, Riftan immediately withdrew his fingers. It was unbearable to know that what he had treasured for so long had been destroyed by his own hand. Riftan felt weak as if hanging from the arm that was holding her. Then he muttered emptyly as he kissed her temple wet with tears and sweat . “You’re my wife now. Like it or not, there’s no turning back.” Everything was messed up , but with this , they were completely tied up. He kissed her lips again. It was nice to know. Although this wouldn't make her want him for the rest of her life, luckily he could die as her husband. He pulled her body back to his and shoved away the guilty. He shuddered at the foreboding of what she would have to endure for the rest of her life, repeating this night that would be a terrible memory for her.

She was trembling like a cornered beast, but she heard Idsilla’s (a noble women that Max meet in the temple, they disguised as priestess and join the war together) urgent voice from somewhere. “Sin, I’m sorry, knight!” She ran like the wind through the trees and stood between Max and Riftan. “Take care of the wounded until late… I haven’t been told not to approach it. I’m really sorry for interrupting your break.” It must have been that she had heard that he was here when she went to ask the soldiers to escort her, so Idsila immediately grasped the situation and hid Max behind her. “If the knight forgive us… We’ll just go back.” Idsila slid her back behind the bush before he could answer. But Riftan wouldn’t let them leave. “I didn’t say you can leave yet.” At the whip-like voice, Idsila’s body stiffened. Max clings to Idila;s back, avoiding his dark shadows over her head. He ran her from head to toe, as if he couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Water drops from his hair dripped down his cheeks. Max felt her face heat up like it was on fire. She looked like a beggar. Riftan, on the other hand, was a beautiful as a spirit that had just walked out of the lake. His wet hair shimmered as smooth as dark blue satin, and his bare muscular upper body shone reddish in the light of the sun. Despite the shocking tension, Max drenched her eyes in his eyes. It was the face of her husband she had not seem in a few months. Even in this terrifying moment, her eyes never fell from him. Riftan also looked down at her with a greedy gaze and let out a choked moan. “Oh my God, why are you here…” His trembling and hand rested on his face. For an instant, Max had unreasonable expectations that he might welcome her. But his shaky eyes hardened, and soon after, he began to burn fiercely with anger. “What the hell are you doing here?” Riftan grabbed her shoulder with both hands and growled wildly. “Who brought you here! Oh, thank you, you're very kind I wanna post the last 3 chapters of the first book that someone commented here the other day, it's really heartbreaking. I'm gonna write it and post it here next week, probably =) Riftan's POV is all smooth and sad, I liked it a lot. People should buy it in ridibooks and read it from the beginning. It really makes you undestand that he's damaged beyond repair, Max is just a sweet relief to his constant agony. =\

Yep, but don't feel like sharing details (shy) - Technically this isn't entirely right =. Even if you consent to have it, if in the middle you ask the guy to stop/it you say no to something he's doing/if you tell him it's hurting and he goes on, it is r...pe. There's no point in questioning it cause if someone forces you to do it, before, or during, it is wrong. Still he told her "we can't stop in the middle", for some reasons: 1st -He wanted badly to get his stepfather out of prison and he was afraid if they stopped it and they had no proof they did it when the priest came, they wouldn't release him. 2nd - He's a believer. He follows the church rules and he knows if he starts it it is for the purpose of trying to have a child. If he stops in the middle, it's not right in the eyes of the church. 3rd- He wants to end if fast (before he knows how good it is {hoho}) and if they stop they'll have to start again. =.

Those are all valid points. My only thing is she really was not in a position to consent. If she said "no" her dad would have beaten her possibly to death. I think if anything both of them were forced into having sex. Neither wanted it under those conditions. I think he just was able to separate things easier than her. He did put more effort into making her comfortable after that. Even though he didn't know she was not fully on board. I wonder if it would have changed things if he knew her position from the start. That if she denied him she would be beaten.
I really love this story but I dislike the fact that they give so many laps, they love each other please what is the need to make me suffer like this? This is so good and the translation is great! This is from Riftan's POV chapters is it not? What chapter is it? I wonder if one of you might know.... I haven't been able to read all chapters so I accept that not knowing this is my fault but I noticed that in part 1, after Maxi's miscarriage, she is depressed and holds a coin that seems to have a lot of symbolism for her (looking at the coins makes her even more emotional). Then in part 2 in the cave scene, Riftan notices that the pendant she carries seems to be the same coin and then he gets super emotional. Did he give her this coin? Why did his mood change when he saw it? oh well, it might be nothing and I might just be focusing on something irrelevant, but I still found it so cute thanks in advance anyway
Thank you you are a savier. Usually people who hang out in spoiler forums are either broke or can't buy the books due to their countries policies, I'm the latter . So any spoilers that you can provide will be helpful to quenshing my thirst for this story. Well we have to keep in mind that the story in this book doesn't happen in modern times where women actually have their God given right to protest say no and "disobey" their husbands (I couldn't find a better word). They live in a time where the women are considered their husband's belonging and they are brought up thinking that. So in this context and considering it was both their first time with Riftan not hearing a word she's saying and Maxi being completely in the dark as to what is about to happen, their first time is actually quite standard and quite typical so I do not agree with the r*pe idea. Now I wish they would have sat down and spoke to each other for a while before going at it just to ease the tension and maybe they might have been able to establish some level of trust. Well we got what we got and we like it never the less.

Ae, thank you it's Chapter 40 of Riftan's POV (they are after the chapters of book 1). About the coin I believe you're talking about the luck coin he gave her when he left her in the monastery. He had it since he was a mercenary and wished it to protect her since he didn't know what could happen to him while he was away and wished he could be by her side to protect her but couldn't. (I didn't notice it in the cave part though). All those mistérios emotional parts of him usually are about something that happened in his past or about him realizing he mean something more or less to her, he gravitates her like a moon xD
You don't need Korean phone number, just send them (to Ridi support) an email with your passport/ID photo (you can hide the picture and most of the info, they just need to confirm the birth date and name-> they need to be the same as the ones you put in registration on their site), and done. It'll take them around 12 hours to confirm and update your account and you can read the 19+ content. They will send you an email with confirmation on the update, so you'll know if they aknowledge your email with photo of the document. And it's almost impossible to read OAK anywhere else, as all rogue translations are put down as soon as the publisher gets to know about them. There are several discord servers and some spanish and turkish sites that provide both books in their respective languages, and you can also read the english fan translation from some private sites (that I won't mention here so they won't get closed, you can find them easily while searching in google though ^^).
