When was the last time Yunfei personally killed an enemy? I'm starting to think that he has access to Xiao Qi's +14 ability through the Soul Contract.

Considering that his zerk mode is at peak-stage Exalt when he was mid-stage, his actual cultivation is probably about to reach peak-stage Exalt with zerk mode approaching mid Soul King.

 

does this get better? i dropped it when everything was nicely settled. the female lead got home and kicked her family ass and then mc came home and kicked his enemies to death

Volume 4: Bai Yunfei goes to the Soul Beast forest for tempering training.
- he uses the unique dual fireseed skills that he started training in at the end of vol-3.
- he has run ins with members from the Beast Taming School and the Soul Refining Schools.
- he find an object that helps him figure out a major aspect of his Upgrade cheat.
- he picks up a few Soul Beast companions.

Volume 5: leaving the Soul Beast forest, Bai Yunfei goes to the Capital City to deliver a letter from his master.
- he meets someone who had saved his life back in vol-1.
- he takes up a position as an instructor at the Capital's training academy for cultivators.
- he makes a major breakthrough with his Upgrade cheat.
- there seems to be something going on in the Capital and he's getting caught up in it.
- people are surprised that he can kill others way above his skill level. Well, this happens throughout the story, but high status people are noticing this time.

 

I'm not certain how one usually advances to the Soul King level as I don't believe the breakthrough process has been described at all, but my guess is that Bai Yunfei's breakthrough is going to be an exception to the norm, similar to how Xiao Qi's was. My guess is that he's going to manage to completely fuse the two essence fireseeds and the moment he does he'll become a Soul King. If this does come to pass, he'll lose the ability to store one in Brick-chan, so maybe he will instead store the companion lightningseed inside instead to make up for the loss. Of course, if that also happens Brick-chan will also start to empower the companion lightningseed. Maybe it will be infused with elemental fire and we'll get a fusion elemental seed that can supposedly only exist in soul beasts, similar to the Thunderfire Wolf.

Or I could be completely wrong. Speculation is fun.

 

The worst part about this novel is how teenage girls are written. Girls in their mid-teens either act like they're 7 years old or 30, nothing in between.

 

Wasn't there some sort of rule that there's no killing of soulbeasts in the Training Forest?
How come no one ever stopped this idiots when they're practically mocking an institution backed by royalty?

Ch-658: Yet another Upgrade Stone is handed to Bai Yunfei and yet again he does not follow through with asking for more information about them. He doesn't even need to be all serious about, just ask casually like: "Hey, I seen a few of these before and they seem to be good crafting material. Do you know where to get more?" So far I'm not even sure others consider these stones as crafting material, and if that's the case, then what do others see in these stones that they would collect them as precious objects?

 

His master already told him about crafting stones, and presumably how to use them.

 

honestly it doesn't matter if other people have no use for them and the MC is the only one that finds them useful, considering it's a Xuanhuan if he asked in detail then some character in there might collect them just to screw the MC over or some elder character might be like; "why would a youngster want this useless thing, unless he found some way to use it and make some heavenly weapons? come to think of it he does have some heavenly weapons with strange abilities. That must be it." --- something like that would probably happen instead

 

Ch-669: when Bai Yunfei held the chain whip that caught him and appraised it, I really thought that he would try to "fail-to-upgrade" it to free himself. The chain suddenly turning to powder would nice surprise.

 

Using them is not the concern, where to get more of them us the question.

 

Now that would have been a boss move. Probably wouldn't work because he doesn't own it.

Ch-688: Xiao Qi is going to be jealous that Xiao Lan was able to humanize as soon as he advanced to class seven.

 

First a Dragon, now a Tortoise(?)... I suppose somewhere there's a White Tiger and a Fiery Bird.

And for a pig to be a dragon...so there's a loser dragon out there who has no one and resorted to mating with some pig.
