basically for school i have to take a site and point out their usability flaws and then suggest solutions however they have said it needs to be a site where i can get feedback from other users they also said its better to choose a site that you know well so you can easily reach out to the users and thus i got rather limited options royalroadl.com novelupdates.com kongregate.com steam.com pathofexile.com so can you guys give me what you think is annoying about those sites? (e.g. i have to click 4 times to reach there why cant i just go there instantly??, you cant do x or y on that site)
if i want to move a bunch of novels from list to list ( in my reading list ) i need to check them all
When in the reading list I accidentally hit the "I've read the latest chapter!" button for the series above or below the one I wanted to hit because of my clumsy fingers(on mobile device), at that time I go to the reading list's logs to see what chapter I need to put the check mark back at. Every time this happens I shed a little tear for the lack of an "undo" button on the log page.
The only suggestion i could give you is about NovelUpdates, and it is about several functions, this site has very nice tools like the reading list and color coded list and even a priority list, (i do have 3 reading list with 3 priority orders for reading, some are for binge reading some i keep day to day eye on them and some ocassionally i check them) the problem is that there is no guide anywhere here or at least is not easily accessible where it does explain about the reading list and several other functions (I did discover them mostly on my own), so yeah the only improvement i could suggest is to find a way to make this information about the different options you have here more available to the users that come here to keep themselves up to date about the novels they like.
I want to be able to search using more than one tag at a time. We can do it on hentaihaven why can't we do it here on a normal site.
I wanna have a dark pink header and a soft lilac background but noooo it's dark blue with white background *sighs* NU also needs an UNDO button, where you can press it and it will undo the latest change you did to a reading list, like when you are checking out a novel you are stacking chapters to read, and accidentally press that you've read the latest chapter, but don't remember exactly which one was the last you read. (,,•́ . •̀,,) in other words, nu only lacks age. Most of the areas that can be improved are due to the site being fairly 'young'. ╮(╯▽╰)╭
royalroad yeah i need to choose "show all" in every novel page to know if they have updates novelupdates we need easy method to cultivate our beloved nuffies farm i need a follower!!
RoyalRoadL.com : Disabling/Blocking [Ctrl]-[Tab] to open new tabs... (seriously, it bugs me enough that I have assigned one the buttons on my gaming mouse to send [Right Click]-[t] when I have my browser window active). Also, the previous posters issue.
Oh! Maybe @Tony should implement a tutorial button on NU for easy access to new users. I hope someone remembers to suggest this on the suggestion thread, unless it's there already. Edit: Also, mods don't like homework threads. Profile, blogs, and conversations are A-OK, I think.
for kongregate...if you have 2 FB accounts (1 via email 1 tied to your FB), it automatically logs you into the FB one, you have to log out and then manually log into your other one every time :v
RRL lack a reading list option like from NU (multiple reading list, checkbox to see if the ch is read...), 'cause just the bookmarks one is quite lacking. NU lack of multiple reading list color (one colors per reading list), it lack a undo button (already mentioned, though I'm still happy of the log function ).
I wish RRL had a Blacklist/"Not Interested" list amongst it's bookmarks, currently I dump those under "Favorites", though I do use "Bookmarks" & "Read Later" for what it says on the tin. Even better would be if the aforementioned blacklist was a search exclusion option (I currently have such a list on NU, & whilst it doesn't block stuff from search results, I do have it set to exclude them from my front page/new releases, & I have assigned the gravestone icon so I recognise them when they do show in search results).
