Forgotten Title Very vague and kinda specific

So all I remember is that in the novel the MC can have mental simulations, and he does this so he can experiment on things to find the best way to do it. Also it's mostly like a Chinese or Korean novel.

The only other thing I know for sure is that it's not Warlock of the Magus World, as I'm currently reading it.

 

Advent of the Archmage had something like that for making spells.
