A little synopsis of Vocaloid's hystory:
Vocaloid is a program to simulate voices, people started to use it to make songs, because the program enabled the voices to sing. With time the voices become know with a codename and a persona, for example Hatsune Miku is a girld with blue pigtails.

The fandom increased a lot in the years.

I just entered it, so I wonder if people here liked it, hated it, know good places to get songs or good YT channels.

    What is your favorite song?

To be perfectly honest? Senbonzakura, only because the parody of this song "Thousand Lolis" is just fucking brilliant.

Otherwise..... Word is Mine? I don't listen to much Vocaloid

I can't listen to the songs alone.

However, I could watch people on twitch play the hatsune miku games for hours. It's like watching guitar hero on steroids and it is amazing.

Been on a Vocaloid addiction for about 2 years now. If you made me pick just one song, then probably 'Hand in Hand' is my favorite right now.

I can't say I have much of an effective system. I got to https://www.nyaa.se/ and type in 'Hatsune Miku' and download songs and concerts and listen to those. If I find a song I like from the concerts, then I just search for it and download them from there. Here's another good source if you know what songs you want http://mikudb.moe/ (Vocaloid Database).

Ah, I'm a really big fan. I got into it over 5 years ago and recently the song activity and such has been pretty dead....
My favorite is Kagamine Len, and I suppose favorite song would be rain stops,good-bye by NioP.
Hazuki no Yume and Forgetfulsubs upload Vocaloid songs and are more active recently but AmeSubs, descentsubs, SunnySubs, OccasionalSubs etc have stopped uploading for awhile but have some older/more popular songs on their pages. Kyaami on YT does great covers too.

Hmm honestly I don't like it. I try getting into it but I just don't get what the hype about. Its just singing and pretty boring but maybe because I'm a English speaker and know no Japanese at all? I just don't get why people would go to a Hatsune Miku holographic concert. That's just a huge waste of money showing up for not even a real person! Its too easy money for them lol

It's amazing. Though at times the songs that people create with them are a little...well, an example would be It's a Wonderful World. It's created by HAMO, Mili's song composer (if I remember it correctly), and sung by Hatsune Miku.

Another example would be practically any of Neru's (composer) songs. Example being Lost One's Weeping.

And if you're into yuri, there's a song called Magnet. Though there is a "straight" version, I prefer two women singing instead.

Ensou also creates some awesome music with the Gumi vocaloid, however most of the songs are in Tagalog. They are starting to write songs in different languages, however.

    So, favorite songs?
    -Living a Lie
    -Kigamure Mercy
    -Lost One's Weeping
    -It's a Wonderful World
    -World Is Mine
    -Doubleganger
    -Magnet
    -Coma
    -Hibikase

There's many more, but I'm too lazy to look them up.

Vocaloids are what introduced me to Japanese music. :3
IMO, some of them.. aren't that great but that doesn't matter as a lot of them are really nice. c:

Though, I'm starting to not really like it that much nowadays and started going towards the Utaites.

    Vocaloid songs that I recommend

EDIT: I'd recommend this channel if you want to listen to Vocaloid music.
He uploads videos of theatre mode of the game Project Diva, which is a rhythm game full of Vocaloid songs for PlayStation.

I listen to vocaloid songs but only ones that are translated or are originally in English.
Songs in other languages, even if they are amazing, are hard for me to jam out to.
The lyrics just sounds like a mess, an organized mess, which slightly takes away from the song.

What's there to discuss really? You either like it or you don't. Now, vocaloid doesn't pull in the extreme crowds like Lady Gaga, where you either downright bang-head-on-the-wall kind of hate or wear weird alien-like-retarded-fashion-statement kind of love. Vocaloid lovers generally are a bunch of people who come together simply because of their love for music, instead of just gimmick (yeah, I'm a Gaga hater).

Anyway, if this is your first foray into Vocaloid, these songs may be more acceptable to you:
