volare signs agreement with Zongheng & first direct author, welcomes "This MC is Kickass!"

Hey folks!

You might’ve noticed a marked increase in our new novel announcements lately, with quite a number of them coming from a particular site — Zongheng. Today, I’m delighted to announce that after months of discussion, we have reached an agreement with Zongheng regarding exclusive translation authorization, digital/physical publishing, and future partnership! This covers all our current Zongheng titles, upcoming ones, and ones that we’ll work together on in the future!

Our current Zongheng titles include transmigration into the nya~ MC: Adorable Creature Attack!, cultivation with a twist: Divine Throne of Primordial Blood, Western magic academy: Destroyer of Ice and Fire. Upcoming titles include supernatural thriller: Killer Nights, mystery and adventure: Lost Treasure, and the temporarily titled Sundering Nature. These will mostly be launching in the rest of this year as well!

In addition, I am incredibly excited and so very honored to have inked our first direct partnership with an author, Teresa Ge (葛圣洁)! Teresa actually found volare through one of our media interviews, and we bonded over a shared background of quitting our jobs for our passion. She comes from traditional publishing, has several books already to her name, and we’ll be collaborating on her newest work, The Sketch Artist!

The Sketch Artist is written with the technical knowledge to back it up as Teresa used to be a police officer! *salutes* My good friend Guan Zhong from WW will be translating the novel, so please be on the look out for the new novel in late September!

I’m absolutely delighted today (and some of you who found the TOC early have been absolutely boiling over with excitement) to announce today that Sigil is launching with This MC is Kickass, written by Early Cloud (云早)!

chiyomira (over at Prodigal Alliance Head) actually introduced Sigil to me, and we’ve hit it off ever since! This is such a fun novel that he does brilliantly, and it’s a VRMMORPG that you’ve never seen before. Most of the ones we’ve read deal with the MC being reborn into their younger self, here we’ve got one who’s experiencing the game for the first time and happens to be… the ugliest character in the game. And her IGN is also Nutjob. Say what now?! Folks might be going “huehuehue” often when they read this riot of nonstop laughter and eh??

From the novel itself:

Synopsis:

While creating her character, the game’s system randomly generated a “unique” name for her.

To avoid being recognized by her friends in reality, Shen Jingbin went for broke and made her in-game character look as ugly as possible, turning her into the ugliest character in the game.

But who would have thought that these days, even NPCs would judge her based on her looks! What should she do now?!

Thankfully, she had enough luck to overturn that. Hidden quests, amazing pets, and top quality equipment were all lined up for her taking.

Even male gods were offering themselves up to her!…

Sigil has 20 chapters ready for you straight off the bat, and will be doing accelerated double releases for a while until the schedule settles in at 5x a week. Word on the street is that he’ll be accepting tips to the lunch jar for bonus chapters as well, so keep your eyes peeled for that! Please join me in a warm welcome for Sigil and Nutjob!
