Like the title says. When I try to open the new Doomed to be Cannon Fodder chapter (103), the entire webpage gets blocked by my antivirus. I use Norton. Anyone else having issues like this?

Here's a picture of the report it generated:

I never had issues there. Maybe it's a virus though, so I am not gonna test that link, it's risky?

I use NOD32 and It generally doesn't give any complaints on their website? Then again, I haven't been on there since GDK was dropped.

not sure, probably has to do with ads. it's basically saying there is a small chance some fake advertisement pop-up telling you to update flashplayer might appear but it downloads a virus/adware or some dumb shit

I did have a Flash Update where it automatically downloaded a .exe file yesterday at volare. That redirect still came even with abp on... The funny thing was that I was going to turn it off to check the ad situation since I wasn't there since April. That redirect made that decision for me.

for me when i read on volare it can redirect to an ad without me even clicking on anything, so i normally go to reader view(a firefox tool) the second I start reading something on there.

I'd remove whatever .exe you downloaded and advise you to use ccleaner

Yesterday there was an annoying google ad that was trying to fake/spoof being from Flash Player to install an .exe file. I stopped noticing it towards the evening.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't an antivirus just a piece of software that runs in a host environment, deleting files at its own discretion and tricking the host (either the machine or the user) making them believe it (the antivirus) is essential for the correct functioning of the host system?

I don't know, but that sounds like HIV to me.

False positives are common. To me, they are more health insurance salesmen trying to justify you paying for them

Still better than McAfee known for its "it's pretty much the same protection as the default windows defender, we just have a name". But yeah Norton sucks. Resource hog and false positives being 2 of the main issues.

In some ways it is necessary. If you know what every single file is supposed to look like and/or have the time periodically monitor every single bit of log activity on your comp, you can do it by yourself.

Humans that can't replicate the entire OS from scratch rely on a program that screens out codes from a ridiculously large resource of known virus codes.
