Vote Manipulation by King of Gods translator

Apples to oranges young grasshopper. In the case of trump, it is political bribery. In the case of pizza, real world implications. Unless you are going to say that novel reviews are going to totally alter your lifestyle choices... in which case I will pray for you.

 

This is the fucking slipperiest of slopes. The benefits should never outweight the morals of the action. I find it disgusting how many people here are defending it even if the ratings mean nothing.

The thing is why not just ask people who read to suggest you novels I never looked at the ratings for anything anyways <3

Is not like the people giving the stars are well known critics I mean any schmuck can give ratings so I wonder how much value they have, a better way to recognize the value of a novel is to read the reviews specially the ones that give throughout explanations and descriptions without spoiling it. Now I do think is a bit uncalled for, but nothing wrong is being done at least not on a serious scale so in the end it feels like you are dramatizing the situation a bit too much, remember in the end we are a community it is up to each individual member to give the ratings they want otherwise the reviewing would be left to a few selected individuals rather than for everyone **cough** **cough** if this ever becomes a thing I'm putting my name out there, you know not saying I should be one of the elite few but I should be **cough** **cough**

 

The thing is that we're talking about novel ratings here, you can't really compare that to something as important to the president election...

I'm by no means defending it (I think it's definitely wrong.), and I don't think it should be ok, but truthfully it's a win situation without drawbacks since it doesn't cost anything of worth.

There are some readers out there who gauge the reviews and rating to determine if a novel is worth reading. If the vote and reviews are manipulated on a massive scale and if other translators do the same thing, it will make it harder for readers to choose. It will also make the readers less trusting of the review/rating system. Reputation will take a hit.

 

Just curious...but does that mean if we pump the rating now, and it gets reset later...we can pump it again for double free chaps??
Ive yet to even read the novel, but that sounds like an amusing way to get a bunch of chapters accrued.

 

The nobel is not that good anyways. So i didnt matter for me but for those who want to find something to read. It feels like deceiving them with the rating to make them read it.

I think KOG is OK.. nice plot...
But the update is rather slow..

 

It has drawbacks. It gives readers less reliable rating/reviews. If I'm a new readers and I saw that kind of high rating and great reviews, I would expect something like really good...like it is one of the best xianxia ever written. Which it is not. I enjoy it but it's not that good as the rating/review indicated.


Why can't the translator wrote this

-Every 50 ratings (whether it is 5,4,3,2,1 stars) = 1 bonus chapter

-Every 20 reviews (whether good or bad) = 1 bonus chapter

-Every 20 ranks KoG goes up in = 1 bonus chap

instead of

-Every 50 5star ratings = 1 bonus chap

-Every 20 5 star reviews = 1 bonus chap

-Every 20 ranks KoG goes up in = 1 bonus chap

They both do the same thing. Motivate readers to VOTE. But one is ethical while the other is not.

The translator is manipulating the readers to ONLY VOTE for 5 Stars and ONLY GIVE 5 Stars REVIEW. That's where I have issue with.

 

Yeah this manipulation is little weird. If it was just plain ratings - bonus chaps then it might have been better, since that would allow readers to give their honest ratings instead of being forced to give 5 stars
Well, it is the translator, if he/she wants to do it then its okay and as long as us readers get extra chaps, who cares. I don't even think ratings matter that much

and Im appalled to think that this many people (according to the poll) think this is okay

So that's how site management feel about this? Shouldn't be done lets reset it? Those are questions without snark take em at face value I'm really curious about why it's considered wrong since he isn't exactly forcing people to vote just offering incentive if they do.
