    I am interested in translating "Chronicles of the Modern Empress Dowager" and wanted to ask for permission from its author for translation , but don't know how to contact can anybody help me? What routes should I use to contact the author?

    It's a qidian novel. So either be prepared to work for them or get a resounding no.

    Most CN webnovel authors do not own the rights to their own novels, especially if there are locked chapters that require paying in order to read them. You'll need to contact the publisher in order to obtain rights, in this case, and many of them will demand money upfront for licensing.
