Manga in Spanish: Official manga RAWS:
    Description:

"What I want is just a little "happiness." Born into a family that possesses a special ability, a daughter who has not inherited that ability. Miyo Saimori. She was treated as a servant by the half sister who made her ability flourish. She was not loved by her parents, a daughter who was not needed by anyone, even her childhood friend, who was her only ally, was forced to marry her half sister and inherit her home. Miyo who was considered a hindrance was forced to marry in the Kudou family who is rumored to be implacable .... A love story that begins with marriage."

I only found the manga and seems it's really interesting tho it's in Spanish I don't know/understand anything LOL. So, maybe someone here read the novel and can share some spoilers?

PS: A little tired of all those reincarnation/revenge novels/mangas, so this looks pretty attractive.

Oh, I read this recently and quite enjoyed it. It's a sort of Cinderella in a light-fantasy Meiji-era Japan.

The premise is that certain families hold special powers which help them maintain their status. Miyo is the oldest daughter of the Saimori, one of the families which is on the decline. Even though her mother was from a very-highly regarded clan of people with powers, she herself doesn't have any, which means that she has spent her entire life being horribly bullied by her stepmother and half-sister. Her family sends her off as a bride candidate for the young master of the most powerful family, who is notorious for, you guessed it, turning down all candidates. They're convinced that she's going to be sent away in shame, but Kyoka (and his adorable middle-aged servant) actually take to her, which is where the "happy marriage" part comes in.

Miyo's sense of self-worth is pretty much in tatters at the start of the story, so it's mostly about her regaining confidence and finding love. And obviously, Kyoka has his own issues of trust/dealing with women, so the story is basically about two awkward people learning to slowly connect. There are plenty of things happening around that (Miyo's family, her mother's family, Kyouya's family, etc.), but it's kind of a mellow series. Although there is some pretty intense drama with ability users fighting, so far, it hasn't been on a large scale.

    It's up on Syotetsu too.

OH! AWESOME! Thank you for spoilers! I'll check Syotetsu then.

Btw, does Miyo have some powers at the end or not? From manga I got the impression that she kinda has something but that's just my impression, haha.

Well, it is a wish-fulfilment romance fantasy, so of course she does. It's the most powerful power in her mother's family line

It's actually really easy to guess pretty early on what her powers are (like, half-way through the first book early) and it's a major plot point for the second volume. The author does a really good job of building up to it and of justifying why it had been sealed, plus obviously, it's satisfying that she does have such an amazing talent after all she's been through, but to me at least, it didn't really feel necessary... In the sense that she was a lovely person who was slowly being valued for her own worth, power or no power. On the other hand, since her mother's family wants her back because of them, it does affect her relationship with Kyoka (ultimately for the good), so the fact that she has powers does do more for the story than just go 'Boom, now she's even more special'.

Great. Thank you! I just wanted a confirmation. I really wanna see the faces of her *family*, I mean the Saimori, especially her shitty father. That would be so satisfying. Hopefully it will be showing in the manga.

Is the novel still ongoing or already completed? I just want to know if there is more about her and her husband, do they have kids, etc.

The latest online manga chapter already has some of that. It covers Kyoka going and announcing to her family that he wants to formalise the betrothment, and telling her father and stepmother that he'll give them more betrothal money if they apologise directly to Miyo. In context, it's unbelievably insulting to them, and what makes it even better is that they actually need money.

You also get to see Kaya (the half-sister's) reaction to being told that Miyo will be marrying Kyoka. She's not happy.

It's ongoing: the third novel comes out this month and the online chapters started up again recently after a break. I guess because it was popular enough to continue? I haven't read the new chapters, but according to the synopsis, it involves Kyoka's mother opposing the marriage. And even without that, they're nowhere near kids yet. When I say they're awkward and the story is low-key, I mean it. They're more at the 'do you mind if I stay with you/I don't hate it if you stay with me' stage. It's cute, but slow.

Miyo's family basically self-destructs by the end of the first arc. Their house burns down, leaving them with practically nothing (which is fitting given what was done to the keepsakes from Miyo's mother), the family loses whatever prestige they had still managed to cling to, the parents have to move to a smaller, more remote house with no servants and Kaya is sent as an apprentice to a family which has the reputation of being super strict. Given that this is Meiji Japan, "apprentice" is just another word for "indentured servant", so she isn't going to have a fun time of it. Her engagement is broken off. As far as I know, they haven't really featured in the story since.

Hell Yeah, that spoiled brat finally fallen to a servant status, in addition on a strict family, she will have hell to pay. :blobpopcorn: In the manga, there was one point where Kaya saw ML and apparently fell in love with him. Is there any spoiler about Kaya and ML's interaction? Since the ML already know how Mio was treated by Kaya, I'm sure he will not pay much attention to her. But I still want to know.:aww: Many thanks:blobsmilehappyeyes:!

I want more spoilers please. How did her power awaken? And will the mc's parents regret the things they did to her? Or no? Just for the sake of money?

If I'm remembering correctly, he only meets her once, during the incident when the house is burning down. This was triggered when Kaya and her mother plus the head of the Tatsuishi (Kouji's father and the third major antagonist of the first arc) come up with the draw-droppingly stupid plan of kidnapping Miyo to "switch" the engagements around (so Miyo & Kouji and Kaya & Kiyoka). Kiyoka is there to rescue Miyo, who was locked in the storehouse and was being beaten by Kaya and her mother, and Kaya tries to convince him (with a spectacular lack of awareness of anything like timing) that she is a much better fit for him than Miyo. Kiyoka brushes her off with a few cold sentences then just leaves with Miyo, who was either unconscious or nearly at that point, but who needed medical attention either way plus, well, there's a fire raging. Kaya has a minor meltdown and it's left to Kouji to get her and her mother out of the building so that they don't die in the flames.

EDIT: I don't remember if it's explicitly stated, but I think it was Kiyoya who arranged for Kaya to go to such a strict family.

Her power awakening is the central plot of the second arc. I think it's because the seal her mother placed on them was weakening and Miyo was tormented with nightmares every night, to the point where she could barely function during the day. Kiyoka has long since figured out that her mother is connected to the nightmares, so he eventually takes her to see her mother's family and that's where they find out that she has an ability and what it is. I haven't read past half the second arc and the novel is gone from Syousetsu, so I don't know much beyond that.

As far as I'm aware, the Saimori family is pretty much irrelevant after the first arc. Given their personalities, I doubt they regret anything except the consequences though.

Dream manipulation, Inception style. Her mother's family specialise in abilities that affect people's minds and hers is considered the single strongest ability in their bloodline.
