We Are Barbarians! Rawr! This is a semi-realistic RPG about a planet of cavemen (and cavewomen). The objective of the game is to advance technology by creating new characters to discover more knowledge, invent new creations, or construct new buildings or tools. Future characters in this thread can use the objects/creations previously created by other characters, allowing the gradual advancement of civilization. For instance, if one Bob creates a windmill, Susan can use the windmill later in the game. The starting point of the game is absolutely nothing. In the beginning, everyone starts by running around naked, and the barbarians don't even know how to make fire or hunt food. You should make sure that the basics are covered before trying skip ahead to something more advanced. Game Rules: BOLD anything that is important Players are allowed to create an unlimited amount of characters Limit one new major discovery / advancement per character (flexible rule) No magic or fantasy! The setting is semi-realistic! Make sure the prerequisites are discovered/invented before making something more advanced Describe how your character discovered/invented/made something in your post Feel free to do random roleplay and other stuff too Note: If your character invents something, it is highly recommended that you Google it first to make sure that your information is accurate. For example, if your character invents a bow and arrow, Google how to make one first... just to make sure you aren't missing anything.
Bob is a barbarian. He is super big and strong. Bob is good at scaring things. He takes a Rock and finds a group of hyenas (by following crows and other carrion birds) who have gathered around a bunch of Fresh Kill. He chases away the hyenas with rocks (and loud noises) to get Scavenged Raw Meat. He drags the animal corpse back home so he can share it with his village.
Babarah is an old cankerous woman who nobody likes because she throws rocks at their caves. One day, Babarah is throwing rocks at caves like she normally does. One happens to give a spark which falls upon a patch of dry grass. It goes up in flames, causing Babarah to get kicked out of the village and later eaten by a large predater. Little Surah however, Babarah's great granddaughter finds beauty in those flames and uses her grandmother's ill thought out tactic to make another fire, this one surrounded by rocks to contain it. Now Surah can watch the pretty red colors for as long as she wants without burning anything.
Grog wakes up looks outside cave grog see birds flying in circles grog pick up long thick stick giggles and starts walking to flying birds
Will is a thin and lanky barbarian He likes causing mischief. While out, he hurt his feet stepping on twigs, sharp rocks, and sticks. Seeing potential in this, he brought them back and scattered them around places people walk about, making traps.
Bobo is Bob's son. Unfortunately he is not as big and strong as Bob was. Because he is so short, he took a stick and sharpened it to make a wooden spear. This allowed him to have a longer reach and follow in his father's path of chasing animals around to get meat.
Bobo and Grog walk into wilderness toward birds Grog keeps eye out for predators pray and fruit along the way
Bobo say Grog silly. No way can chase bird! Bobo chase bird with spear to show Grog! Bird too fast can fly! Birdo fly away!
Grog tell Bobo he's "looking at wrong birds" Grog points to sky and says "we go over there black birds like dead things"
Grog nods and continues walking picking up fruit and nuts along the way still keeping eye out for predators and pray
Little Maiya is a mean girl. She thinks that Babarah and Little Surah are really weird for staring at their hot burn-burn thing (fire) all day. Because she is bad, sometimes she sneaks raw meat away from dinner. She hides behind trees and throws raw meat at Little Surah. Her aim is not very good, so some of the meat lands in the fire instead of hitting Little Surah's face. This ends up as Burnt Meat.
