Discussion Webnovel deleting low score reviews

If you though it couldn't get worse, I've notice several novels having a big increase in stars over night, like The Mech Touch and Lord of Shadows, for example.
Taking a look, all reviews with low scores were deleted.
Can they go any lower? No freedom of speech, typical chinese. I just hope ppl stop using webnovel.com, I know I'm just gone forever from now on.

beside it already did on past there nuffian who complaint about it

Old news, Been happening for awhile.

 

This has been happening from day 1, they also get 'paid'/botted positive reviews and ratings.

 

I've mostly seen price complaints so far.
Directly blocking Freedom of Speech was the first.

 

People still go to web novel I left them when they started charging spirit stones and just use aggregator sites so many available that host web novel series.

 

I didn't know even the reviews on qi were censored.... Now i am starting to think qi is like china... But in the form of an app.... They should just change the name of the app from webnovel to china : a first hand experience...

 

All web novel needs to do further is persecute religious groups and it will really be a first hand experience.

 

Uhh, if people already thought it was the worst before, they wouldn't even be reading there in the first place. Much less care about what they do with reviews. Also, this site you're posting on already has reviews, so as a QI hater why would you even read the reviews over there when there's already some over here?

 

All low star reviews can't be ilegitimate, same as the 5 stars aren't all legitimate. Fabricating scores undermines the whole system.

 

From what I could tell this was the reasons for their review deletion:

1 - If their fav novel does not win in voting, many write negative reviews - delete
2 - Talking shit about the translator reviews - delete
3 - mmorpg and generic cultivation negative reviews without reading it - delete

I am actually thankful that they delete such reviews, i mean if you want to write a negative review at the very least read the novel first.

 

well understandable why they did that considering how reader on NU are happy to give 1 star rating to any webnovel/qidian novel. please remember that readers here as long it qidian, immediately 1 star, kinda like cult

 

It's what you get for thinking any of the systems were legitimate at all. You can post multiple reviews for a series. It's just a system to get exp.

Look at their power rankings, it's all a scam. Signing their contract gives you benefits and they use a legion of bots to give you positive reviews and power stones. If you look at the original novels you'll see them flooding it with thousands more power stones every week to try pushing out the novels people actually like that have refused their absurd contract and get a ton of trashy ceo novels at the top.

Also, why is someone trying to bring up freedom of speech in this thread? What does the US government have to do with this topic?

 

as someone who rather reviews a lot on NU, I cannot assume how people would continue to seek out WebNovel even after this debacle.

Aside from three reviews from the last few days, two of which were complaining about their original reviews being deleted, there is an odd absence of reviews that rate the novel 3 stars or lower. In the 12 pages of reviews I scrolled though, there was a single 3 star review, and that was it. Hmmmmmm.....must just be an incredible novel!

 

I think that QI also needs you to give a review along with a rating. If that is so, then they can see what is a genuine review and what is not.

 

In one word, Originals. Not all originals there were in RoyalRoad or ScribbleHub.
And I wasn't a hater, as I still used the site even though I wasn't happy with it. But there's always a botton line and this is it.
Don't classify everyone that is dissatisfied as hater, or I could just call you a mindless chinese fanboy.

 

that's why web reviews aren't trustworthier. unless it is about a physical product that you need to buy before reviewing, then is better to not trust the reviews.
