Hi, Just wanted to bring up this issue to your attention in case you haven't spotted it already. Recently, there have been chapters released by Webnovel / Qidian on their platform that translate the stories to what looks like Indonesian / Malay or Filipino languages. They're appearing on the main NU feed page. Examples: Hidden Marriage, King of Gods. Just wanted to know - how do you plan on handling this? Is NU going to be mainly for English-language translations and exclude non-English chapters, or are you going to include a language-tag, or create separate series entries for each language version, etc.?
I remember that Tony has stated that NU is soley for English translation. If any other languge translations appear just report them. The bot accidentally snagged those https://www.novelupdates.com/report-problem/
Ah, thanks. I couldn't figure out where the problem report form was, so had to use the forum instead. (Didn't expect it to be buried in the user profile section instead of part of the main page or even a series page.)
It isn't a problem if you want to report something once a month but if you want to report a couple of chapters in one day - it is exhausting
you can go to your profile page, and then, click the report button, don't forget to include the link for the problem and explain what's wrong about it
currently, those novels don't have a proper* tag for the bot to recognize them. so, other than blacklisting the root url as they come**, there's no real fix for them yet, afaik. * proper as in they tag it as Filipino , Indonesian etc ** once they appear once, we'll have the basic url to work with. not really 'accidental', per se. more like it wasn't able to recognize them as non-english (refer to my prev answer). to block them without recognizable tags, some 'samples' are needed. since the last few days, we do monitor qidian's group page for the non-english releases periodically tho. just don't expect it to be removed it right away.
