I will just come out and say it. People in this community are mostly stupid. $1 x 20,000 members(Assuming a majority of the 164,000 members are dummy accounts) is $20,000. That will be enough to launch a flourishing website. They are more interested in their so called etiquette while spending hours building tools to steal content. Sitting on your ass and doing nothing and claiming to be a member of the community is pretty pathetic. If they spent the time used to leave hate comments on Qidian, they would probably have learnt at least Korean by now. Talk is cheap. If you believe you are a member of the community, prove it. Add something beneficial to the community you claim to cherish and support. Wheew! That was cathartic. That's my weekly rant in response to NUF stupidity. See you next week. Peace! I'm not sure what this latest rant is about but, if you require money for a startup why not create a gofund page and clearly define what you want, what benefits those that pay will get. Then let the market decide. Ranting about the people you want to get funds from is not gonna get you what you want, Bro, no matter how lofty your ideas are. Never bite the hand that feeds, or in this case, the hand that you want to feed you. XD
What act? And who is complaining about money? I am complaining at how this community underestimates the power of a community. People complain about Qidian this, Qidian that. Novels are getting dropped. If 20,000 pool 50 cents each. That's $10,000. It is pathetic that they whine when they can actually affect the situation positively. If you cannot see that, then I don't know what else to say. Whataboutism is the lamest way to make your point by the way. No no no I am not trying to get funds from anyone. I am saying that this community has the power to raise such funds and impact change. You want more BL novels translated? Instead of simply starting a thread to complain. Start a gofund.me and link it to your thread. Want less harem? Do the same. Why should someone else take action for you when you just sit on your ass? I have never understood such behavior. I think lazy is too kind a word to explain it. Even if it's only 1,000 members that donate or even promise support by turning off adblockers. You are already on your way to establishing a stable project

I agree. That’s why I edit One Man Army. Then you sucked me into Eighth Level Mage...and Overlord of a Blood and Iron...with those really bad translators. I’m ok with the others though. Unlike some, I’m paying my karmic debt to NU. Good for me and people here who are translating, editing, running websites and other things. Everybody else, complain less, or roll up your sleeves, and pitch in doing something, anything.
Could you post the links to a couple of threads of your own where you started gofund.me's to get this or that novel translated? I want to see if you can back up what you're complaining about but I'm definitely too busy with reading to actually search for said posts myself. ***EDIT*** I'll give you props that you, I'm assuming, are affiliated in some way with asianhobbyist and that it appears to be translating novels, though none that I happen to read at the moment which is probably why I didn't know who you were from Adam. That said, complaining about how other people can impact change and bringing money up as part of the discussion almost immediately rings a little false when the first thing one sees upon going to asianhobbyist is about how they don't have enough money to continue translating novels.
So, am I right to understand that you are either trying to raise awarness of something, advertsisng for something, or bored and thought why not, just make this thread ?
